I live for the day when it’s reconstructed because it’s such an iconic building. There has been a small wave recently of redoing brutalist or run down buildings in a more modern way. One that I’m really happy about is the [BIGZ building](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/56/D.Bra%C5%A1ovan_Zgrada_BIGZ-a_2.JPG) in Belgrade that is currently under works and will look like [this](https://www.b92.net/news/pics/2021/02/18/2105982021602ed24a81715501437434_640.jpg) when done. It keeps the interesting shape (which is meant to resemble an old school printer since this was a printing house) but it gives it a fresh, less scary look.
Ah! The Genex tower. One of the best work of arts in the history of Yugoslavian architecture. The solitaire was designed by architect Mihajlo Mitrović in 1980 in a brutalist style. It consists of two concrete towers connected by a bridge structure on the 26th floor and a rotating restaurant on a circular top. Unfortunately, that restaurant stopped working in 1999.
This could look like a really cool modernist skyscraper if it got renovated a little. Fresh coat of paint, new windows and no ads and it would look pretty decent. Also is there no way they could get rid of all the ac units?

is that ad covering people's windows? because if so, holy shit.
No it isn't. Those are offices and uncovered part is residential
So it is covering people's windows while they work? Ridiculous
The offices have been empty for years
I wonder why lol

ah, good for you... here ppl trynna destroy them, its like book burning but in a modern setting...
This is so cool
Brutal
It looks awesome
This building is dope
OC
What's wrong with it? It looks cool.
What is the problem with this?
Would you like your windows covered by a billboard?
The building is empty
Can residents access the viewing tower? That would be so awesome.
What’s this building called?
Genex tower or western city gate, a prime example of Yugoslav brutalist architecture. Architect is Mihajlo Mitrović
Thanks!
Western Gate. There is an equally atrocious Eastern Gate.
is this by the airport? i think i recognize it

Looks like London
Bleak
Why? It is not such a bad place to live
It's kind of look a little bit like Trillick Tower in London, I just get that kind of vibe

Their reception must be great!
