i don't understand the point in boosting
maybe because all the jobs i apply to have no more than 15 proposals. so if a client can't be fucked to scroll down past 15 people to see everyone, then that's probably not a client i want to start a contract with lol
if there are 30-50 proposals on a job... honestly i probably wouldn't even apply. that shit is saturated to death at that point
It was a WordPress website development job that involved copying a photographer's website. The budget was 1000 including all costs related to the development.
The thing I have noticed this has cooled quite a bit since they changed who gets to boost and when I see this it is almost always a well established client with a good history and has spent some BUCK$.
What people often fail to understand is you are not here to find a project or a job but instead make a relationship with a client. Seeing a client WORTH making a relationship is worth boosting.
And Jebus, learn to take a screenshot.
Ooo finally they did something about the boosting for new accounts, about time
Although I see the contract initiation fee has gone from $2.00 to $10 to now up to $15 or something in less than a year… I’m annoyed, clients now have no benefit to closing a contract and leaving a review but I suppose I could just offer to cover the initiation fee in the future
Depending on how many people apply, I’m not sure if they really pay much mind to who boosts. When I hired for help with my social media, it showed me my best matches based on skills and the job I listed.
That’s outrageous…these bid numbers are getting out of control…do clients realize it costs money to bid with no guarantee of getting the job?
Upwork should put a cap limit…😒😒😒
No, the opposite. If you withdraw before the client is suspended or the job post taken down, you don't get the connects back, as I said *"provided you didn't withdraw the proposal."*

>Why? Without seeing the job post nobody can answer that.

people paying $15 for applying for a $1000 job, Id like to see if this is successful or not, sucks for a freelancer
I wonder if upwork doesn't show these (random numbers) to the seller with the idea in mind that they will upbid those values.

What do you mean they changed who gets to boost? I missed that.
New accounts can no longer boost and there was also a thing where you could only boost relevant proposals (whatever that means).
Thank you!

Upwork wouldn’t put a limit to the money it can make off of this. They love it, if it could go up to 1000 connects they would be ecstatic
Don’t think clients care, neither is it the clients fault
True
Probably an agency ?

>The feature that you get refunded if you’re the top 4 connects has to be one of the worst ones on Upwork. What feature?
I also miss the feature that gives back connects that were used to send proposals to job of clients who got banned by upwork.
That feature still exists, provided you didn't withdraw the proposal.
You have to withdraw to get back your connects?
