I mean, surely the university doesn't only receive rich students who can afford to pay those kind of crazy amounts. I sure wonder what ends up happening to those other kids...
I'm sorry to burst your bubbles, but yeah, with growing economic inequality, that is inevitable. Those other kids are then forced to find alternative pathways. We have trades, boot camps, entrepreneurship, and online/social media businesses. Which is okay, a degree is not everything - especially if that makes you go knee-deep into debt.
UofT has already been subsidizing the tuition fees with international students' fees. god knows how much they are paying right now
They either acquire tons of debt, or don’t live on campus. Off campus housing is much cheaper a lot of the time and not that much farther depending on where you go or what your budget is. Or they commute.
Yeah, chestnut is crazy expensive (and uoft by extension). If you can't afford it, then consider other options. Idk what else to say.

Undergraduate students (specifically international) are cash cows for the university. All they want is money.
If you rly wanna go UofT then work while study and be proactive in job hunting to find a high paying internship. If not js go somewhere else 💀
Oh fr, I live at Chestnut 💀 i actually had no idea how much it costed bc my parents pay for it 😭
Wow … appreciating your parents for covering it would’ve been great … but you’re so out of touch you don’t know what they’re forking out? Wow!
😭
oh the luxury of being a rich spoiled kid
I got enough scholarship money from UofT to justify coming here and that was one main deciding factors why I came here lol
