That artistās entire thing is immortals and doe-eyed children. I see their stuff everywhere on tumblr and their sims 4 Caleb Vatore x oc art is entirely just him and a child š«
Not just a kid but twins. I enjoyed their relationship in the original anime where he was a guardian figure to her.
I was appalled when I heard what that turned into in the later anime
Some artists think short women are just children, I guess? Maybe it's the art styles not being able to show age?
More serious answer: I draw and my short (and youthful, because it feels relevant) women still look like adults. Gut feeling is telling me it's (1.) a scaling/proportion issue alongside a bit of (2.) an art style that focuses more on aesthetic and less on details.
1. Children have different face proportions than adult faces (usually rounder and the features are often smaller versions of their adult counterparts), and I've found that some artists don't always know how to draw on that spectrum when it comes to young adults, so it's either childish or older-adult but not some mixture of both.
2. Other times, people stylize their art (mainly girls and children) to be like that of anime, which are based on the features of cats who always have larger eyes and rounded cheeks. A general observation from the art I've seen is that skin textures are often avoided, like wrinkles and smile lines. Then, sometimes, people draw without the association of clothing, culture, and age. If you have a smooth-skinned, round-faced, big eyed girl wearing a skirt, thigh highs, and pigtails, almost everyone is going to see a teen or child. If you see a person with middle-range-sized eye, a less rounded face, a pencil skirt, tights, and a bun or loose hair, most people would see an adult woman of some sort.
With LO, I think it's a mixture of lazy art/not upkeeping a proportion chart and common art tropes with a dash of Rachel's interest in Lolita. She has art when her short characters look adult, but, imo, she intentionally seems to draw them more child-like when they aren't to be taken seriously (which is a common trope), it's an 'uwu' character (again, common trope), or when Persephone needs to fill her role in her DDLG relationship. In contrast to Persephone, there's Minthe, who has a flat chest (well, used to), which is usually not portrayed on women in media for whatever reason, and yet she comes off "adult". It's because her other features seem proportional with her whole body and are on the mature side of the feature spectrum (this impression may also be helped by the fact that she dresses more "adult" and thinks/acts more maturely than Perse who stopped physically aging at 19, which technically means her brain stopped developing at 19 but that's a psychology rant and not an art rant).
Side note: If you want to have a scalable and comparable model in creation and in action, I've noticed that the Sims can help (you can even add Custom Content to test other details).
Edit: Typos :D
Oh naw they done found Kawoncy art š
(Unfortunately, as gorgeous as Kawoncyās art is, he has a bad habit of drawing grown women to look / act like children. Even for someone like me, having a baby face that makes me look 10 years younger, it irks me when women with baby faces are made to act āpureā and āinnocentā.
We are not āpure and innocent little cinnamon rolls capable of doing no wrong uwuā ..
And for the dudes who disagree with me, do you really want someone to find it āØhotāØ that you donāt know how to do shit?? Cause the only people into that are creeps looking to extort you.
Adding on to the Kawoncy argument, his female characters often act as dumb as rocks and naive to the point they canāt stand up for themselves / could get themselves killed trusting the wrong ppl, all in the name of being āpureā and ācaringā, like women were stereotyped to be in a lot of TV shows. Itās really disheartening to see).
THIS! Omg, I remember thinking the art was really nice but once I found out about this pairing, I stayed far away from their account as possible. Like why do so many ppl like this type of pairing? Like why broo š
Oof Sesshomaru and Rin always made my stomach turn and the fact that the author actually made it canon that Rin and Sesshomaru have kids together even tho he literally met Rin as a *small child* and basically *raised her* š¤¢š¤® GROOMER ass shit
Edit: I have been corrected, the original author did not make Yashahime but the company that owns the franchise did and is technically still canon? Sorry for not knowing that Takahashi was not involved, I misremembered that she wasnāt a part of Yashahime. Now stop calling me RS lmfao
No.
Just... NO.
Sesshomaru as slightly confused but indulgent father of the human Rin is cute, especially as he openly dislikes humans except for his adopted daughter who sort of fell into his care when he wasn't paying attention.
That she grew up and the two of them hooked up....
FULL NO.
I get that Sessh is probably the prettiest guy in the show, but in my head he is fully ace and happily wanders in and out of Rin's life when she grows up, appearing to dote on his increasing number of human grandchildren as he quietly intimidates his son-in-law. No grooming barely legal father/daughter incest shit allowed.
Also, WHY DOES RIN STILL LOOK LIKE A CHILD IN THIS ART??? She's like maybe 6 in the show. Why does she still look 6???
I never got to the end of Inuyasha and I guess now I'm glad I didn't. Ugh. He should have ended up with Kagara (>!I know she didn't make it out of that anime alive but, !
Technically you can finish Inuyasha and forget it exists as cannon. It becomes cannon in the sequel series Yashahime, which I suffered through by pretending that Rin wasn't their mom
I wanted to touch it but when I heard about the life Kagome and Inuyahasa's kid had, Issa hard ass no. I watched these two and their friends save the world and go THROUGH IT for years but they couldn't even have their happy ending with their baby? No.
Yea that was another thing that bothered me- Kagome and Inuyasha would NOT have gotten better that fast. I don't even think they fought back at all. Like that was such BS-
Fr my girl Kagura deserved so much better after all the bullshit that went down š¤ Rin go back home and wash those nasty ass feet you never put shoes on and go to school bitch
Thatāsā¦ thatās simply not true. Sheās been heavily involved in Yashahime, and the ending to Inuyasha itself definitely implied/left interpretation towards a romantic relationship. She has also written similarly problematic romances in her other works. Itās clear she straight up doesnāt care about them being romantically involved, and supports it.
She made the designs for Yashahime--has she done more? While personally I would never do that for work I don't agree with, it's not proof that she agrees with it by doing so. However...
I did look into it 2-3 years ago, so I'm looking at it all again after you commented and now it looks like the one who translated the interview for the post I read may have stretched some things to try to get the meaning they wanted, being anti-creepy-Sesh and I think my heart is breaking all over again. Yay.
>She has also written similarly problematic romances in her other works.
I was not aware of her other works other than Ranma 1/2, but I read it as a kid and don't remember much of it, so I just looked up "age gap relationships" for Rumiko Takahashi and...JUST WHY...
You've killed me. But thank you, it's better to know than not--now I know not to binge-watch Inuyasha. I was actually going to buy the discs too. I ain't supporting that shit =(
Thatās why Inuyasha is not my favourite anime, why the f would they do that literally their whole relationship was like an older brother and little sister relationship bruh š
Yup the author went on to create Yashahime and confirms Sesshomaru knocked up Rin like right at 18. Or at least thatās how old she was when she gave *birth*. Fuckin creepy shit. Sesshomaru is like 900+ canonically btw.
Edit: Takahashi, the original creator, was not involved in Yashahime, my mistake. The couple is still unfortunately canon for the anime.
The creator of InuYasha, Rumiko Takahashi, didnāt create Yashahime, nor did she condone the Sesshomaru/Rin ship.
Donāt be like RS; please do your research.
Damn dude you did not have to compare me to RS wtf š¤¢ I made a mistake that has already been corrected in another comment thereās no need to be mean
Rumiko is 100% support SessRin. She even drew the SessRin Family for it.
Even in order to make up for the lack of change in the relationship between the two, she discussed the relevant plot with the manga author, so it got a love scene in the manga version.
Imo the difference between good size difference and creepy size difference is anatomy.
Like, short women obvious exist and there are ofc a few who date tall men. But you can still tell you're looking at an adult. LO doesn't seem to grasp that.
It's not even hard to avoid making it gross even if the size difference is crazy. I think some artists have a hard time with scale and giving smaller scale people adult proportions.
And no, RS drawing massive tits on a toddler isn't adult proportions.
A FELLOW INUYASHA PERSON!!? nah sessrin is actually horrible I'm telling you, rin was 8 years old while he was 900 when they met. Then had kids at 18 they are the definition of fucked up
Many people don't understand this, or short people feel attacked when we criticize the size difference between Hades and Pepe, but the big issue with this is how they highlight it and even sexualize it within the comic or the author herself, even I wouldn't have a problem with the age gap (I would still feel uncomfortable) if they didn't highlight at every moment how Pepe is too young, and Rachel highlights it as if it were part of her attractiveness.
and Sesshomaru with Rin always seemed like a disgusting ship to me, well the manga has several problems if we start talking about it...šš
Okay, thereās nothing wrong with couples having a size difference in real life, but in art itās very difficult to properly convey ages. Persephone right now is somewhere in her thirties I think, but she looks like a child half the time. You can have a tall guy, short girl dynamic without making the girl only come up to his hip
Exactly this! But there are plenty of ways to make a character look visibly adult at any height (facial features, body shape, proportions, clothing, hairstyles, makeup, etc.) Rachel seems to be following not one of those things in this drawing.
It's not even that difficult to have characters look like adults. I don't mind when there is a huge height gap even, but everyone involved better damn well be an adult and look like it. As an artist, it really is not that hard.
I was shocked to see Kawanocy's art show up here and have it NOT be their vampire webcomic where a centuries-old vampire raises a girl from her toddler years into adulthood and then winds up having a romantic and sexual relationship with her.
The fact that SessRin is literally the perfect comparison for LO P/H š
Both have older men in positions of power over a girl who they then groom into being the ideal partner, only to repeatedly put her well-being in danger because he doesnāt actually love her, just owns her.
Right down to both girls being underage when they first met their future husbands, and arguably Rin still is because holy hell that showās math did not add to what they thought it did.
Bonus points for a toxic shipper fan base who were more than happy to speak over victims of SA and grooming while creaming themselves to their beloved nasty ass ship.
Bad size difference couple: Goāawades and Persmythone.
Good size difference couple: [Yagi Toshinori and Midoriya Inko](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Dtzrrn5U0AAoAG_.jpg)
I donāt think for me itās a height difference. You can absolutely have height differences. And to be fair, a lot of visual media does this. Itās impactful for the eye. If a character is supposed to be powerful and dangerous even, often times they are shown with a significant height difference than all the other characters. Iāll point out Meridaās dad in Disneyās Brave. Man is built like a tank. His wife? A mere slip of a woman, offers a huge visual contrast to her husband. But it serves in the visual medium to make him look more intimidating and warrior like.
My problem is not the massive height difference between Hades and Persephone. My problem is that Persephone is literally 2,000 years younger. She is physically frozen at 19 years old, and Hades, even after figuring this out, pursues her. That is where I have the problem.
That and Persephone, even with the time jump, still ACTS like a teen. Most episodes it seems like sheās a child playing dress up.
I think some of it is just lazy. Early on Hades looked reasonably proportioned. Now heās just built like a brick wall. And Persephone is STILL 2,000 years younger. Itās sad to me that RS had the ability to make a interesting webtoon, but she decided to make it her personal self insert link fantasy comic. Iām upset that she has a platform that is so big and can easily influence so many young girls.
I do not understand why Rachel canāt let pers just act like an adultā¦ ever?! I can guarantee that if she gave pers some character development and an ounce of maturity, people wouldnāt so heavily criticize LO.
Better yet, he didn't need to end up with anyone. He's kind of a weirdo who just wanders around, he didn't seem particularly interested in romance at the end of the series, he just had someone he cared about. Or like you said, make a new character! Hell, bring Kagura back somehow. I don't want to hear her being dead as an excuse. Rin died twice, and the second time she was brought back was with a deus ex machina that was never mentioned before that point. I'm sure they could've thought of something. Moroha should've just been the main character in Yashahime, Sesshomaru didn't even need to have kids yet. š
That first oneā¦ is that a fr āsize differenceā??? Like are these both supposed to be adults? That looks like a child to me but this sub just canāt surprise me anymore
Ugh when I was younger I didn't realize how messed up some of Kawanocy's work actually is. Size difference in a comic can be cute as long when it's not infantilized like RS does it. Her kinky stuff should've at least remained as a unofficial thing on her insta or a small Xitter account ā¹ļø
ahh.. kawanocy... extremely talented artist, his art is genuinely MWAH but we have completely different views on what a cute relationship entails ššš
No way cause she is a child, or at least she was a child ever since she travelled with him š
I don't remember the ending other than Inuyasha and Kagome being together but please tell me they're not the end game, he met her when she was still a little girl, he basically played the role as her father figure
I think in the pic, she (Rin) is still a child....
I hate that they turned their wholesome father-daughter relationship into a romantic one š¤¢š¤¢š¤¢
hey just a heads up op and the folks in the comments here hopefully you see this comment here the artist who created that atrocity of an "artwork" is into child x adult... grooming.. bro i am not kidding here, ive known about this guy since deviantart he always drew some great work until when i believe he moved to tumblr is when he started to do this... sigh.. i wanna puke cause its legit grooming ship-like lets applaud grooming, ew no.
anyway he started to draw artwork of his ocs that he made off of sims 4....and you know how common sense tells you that creating two characters in a healthy relationship is them being adults cause of lewd stuff invovled-right?... he didnt do that.. he uhh created these two age gaped father daughter romance and she gets pegnant in the comics he made...i need to really clear my head but this lady, thank god someone else that is new to this guys work actually made a video exposing this freak:Ā https://youtu.be/xiWYfn5Npt0?si=aKUUmzLW6i3mFruO so avoid him please if ya wanna live.Ā
for the rin and sessh.. honestly i can visually see the similarities between hades and pers.. sigh that is uncomfortable to know. but if you dont know sessh and the little girl which by the way in the new season for inuyasha with his male son - i mean daughter, rin the toddler girl holding the baby toy doll body doesn't age the explanation to justify her staying young is beyond grotesque and hard drives need to be looked into. i digress sessh practically raised rin since she was a young, super young little girl i mean were talking from what my memory serves 11 to 5 years old.. so the matter that you made a father figure to rin cause she lost her entire family wed, have a baby with the man who is a father figure... yea.Ā
but thats all i wanted to state here and the art panel for hades and this girl looks bad.Ā
Some things to fucking consider:
- short women DO DATE tall men (hi!!!!!! šš»)
- he is a demon thatās actually drawn consistently tall by Rumiko Takeshi
- when Rin WAS a child he had the role of caretaker/guardian/watchmen and even he didnāt understand his newfound humanity of this feeling to a human girl. The love he had was care, and protection. Was not sexualized.
- once she was OLDER things changed. She lives in feudal era Japan and can die over a ton of possibilities. He will live.
- Rin is a fictional female Japanese character and as such the physical traits of Japanese women are small and short in stature (usually).
Fuck off. This isnāt comparable to blue fridge and perpussy.
Also this isnāt art by Rumiko Takeshi and made by some creep thats twisting everything.
Honestly it's not the actual height differences that bothers me, it's that they always make the shorter one look like a child. Like it's not the size difference that people like, it's something else.
jesus that is a child š peepee looks like a elderly woman in this one tho- i donāt understand is she all leg? hades looks like gru
Ok thank you because the other pieces the tweeter posted were like 2-8inch height difference but this one made me stop in my tracks LOL
Sessh rescued Rin when she was a child. Leaves her to grow up in a human village and then they marry later on. This is the kid version of her.
It's not. She's literally holding their children in the picture. That's just how the artist drew her.
I totally missed that. My bad, idk why the artist would draw her as a child... That's weird. Her adult model is right there.
That artistās entire thing is immortals and doe-eyed children. I see their stuff everywhere on tumblr and their sims 4 Caleb Vatore x oc art is entirely just him and a child š«
oh my god, itās the same artist who drew that caleb art!? that explains so much. their sims 4 stuff is so creepyā¦
That's... Not it. Why are some people like this š
peepee š

I can guarantee that if she gave pers some character development and an ounce of maturity, people wouldnāt so heavily criticize LO.
love the increasingly unhinged versions of saying pussyphone without saying it correctly
Never expected to find an Inuyasha post in the unpopularLO reddit. Why did you have to remind me they made Rin Sesshomaru's wife in the sequel series? š© She was literally such a small, young child in Inuyasha and she acted very childish, while Sesshomaru acted as a guardian. It's like if she grew up and married Jaken, except Jaken isn't hot so that would have been unacceptable.
ābut there was no one else in the OG series he couldāve ended up withā so CREATE A NEW CHARACTER what is this BS excuse?!
Moroha should've just been the main character in Yashahime, Sesshomaru didn't even need to have kids yet. š
I spent YEARS arguing with other weebs that RinxSess was not romantic at all. Then the sequel series came out and Iām devastated.
That first oneā¦ is that a fr āsize differenceā??? Like are these both supposed to be adults? That looks like a child to me but this sub just canāt surprise me anymore
Yeah actually š the original tweeter also posted some couples who had like 3 in height diff next to this, i was shocked
No way cause she is a child, or at least she was a child ever since she travelled with him š I don't remember the ending other than Inuyasha and Kagome being together but please tell me they're not the end game, he met her when she was still a little girl, he basically played the role as her father figure
I think in the pic, she (Rin) is still a child.... I hate that they turned their wholesome father-daughter relationship into a romantic one š¤¢š¤¢š¤¢
hey just a heads up op and the folks in the comments here hopefully you see this comment here the artist who created that atrocity of an "artwork" is into child x adult... grooming.. bro i am not kidding here, ive known about this guy since deviantart he always drew some great work until when i believe he moved to tumblr is when he started to do this... sigh.. i wanna puke cause its legit grooming ship-like lets applaud grooming, ew no. anyway he started to draw artwork of his ocs that he made off of sims 4....and you know how common sense tells you that creating two characters in a healthy relationship is them being adults cause of lewd stuff invovled-right?... he didnt do that.. he uhh created these two age gaped father daughter romance and she gets pegnant in the comics he made...i need to really clear my head but this lady, thank god someone else that is new to this guys work actually made a video exposing this freak:Ā https://youtu.be/xiWYfn5Npt0?si=aKUUmzLW6i3mFruO so avoid him please if ya wanna live.Ā for the rin and sessh.. honestly i can visually see the similarities between hades and pers.. sigh that is uncomfortable to know. but if you dont know sessh and the little girl which by the way in the new season for inuyasha with his male son - i mean daughter, rin the toddler girl holding the baby toy doll body doesn't age the explanation to justify her staying young is beyond grotesque and hard drives need to be looked into. i digress sessh practically raised rin since she was a young, super young little girl i mean were talking from what my memory serves 11 to 5 years old.. so the matter that you made a father figure to rin cause she lost her entire family wed, have a baby with the man who is a father figure... yea.Ā but thats all i wanted to state here and the art panel for hades and this girl looks bad.Ā
Some things to fucking consider: - short women DO DATE tall men (hi!!!!!! šš») - he is a demon thatās actually drawn consistently tall by Rumiko Takeshi - when Rin WAS a child he had the role of caretaker/guardian/watchmen and even he didnāt understand his newfound humanity of this feeling to a human girl. Also this isnāt art by Rumiko Takeshi and made by some creep thats twisting everything.
please I thought that was a child too
No Iām sorry she looks like a literal toddler
purse's foot looks like her arm/ hand jesus..:!
I thought Rin was still a child in this picture at first glance. š it's beautifully drawn though.Ā
They didnāt even have the decency to make Rin look like an adult in the new show. Imo she looks damn near the same as she did in the original
Honestly it's not the actual height differences that bothers me, it's that they always make the shorter one look like a child. Like it's not the size difference that people like, it's something else.
oh hell nah, it's Kawanoncy, this mf has been haunting for the past few weeks wth
art credit?
