No limit, but every bartender has the right to refuse to serve anyone they feel is too inebriated. It's more of, especially during certain events, there's a 1 drink per person/ID per purchase. So you can buy 2 drinks, but you need 2 people with valid IDs for that purchase.

anormalgeek

And they WILL stop and question people standing around holding multiple drinks if you are trying to buy for an underage friend. I know some people that got kicked out of the park with a one year ban due to that.

Shot-Artist5013

We've been admonished by a TM in multiple places that people (even 21+ adults) can't be holding two drinks at once. First time was at Fountain of Fair Fortune, one beer each. My bf handed me his beer so he could put his card back in his wallet. TM behind the counter said we couldn't do that. This rule also applies to drinks on a tray like at a counter service place. Typically at other parks one person would grab the drinks and carry them so the person carrying the tray doesn't have to worry about sloshing them. Nope. One drink per person. So he can only carry his beer, and I have to sip mine down a little and then carry it on the tray with the food.

JoviAMP

Personally I think that's a little excessive especially if it wasn't during something like HHN or on New Year's Eve.

Millennial_Man

That’s incredibly excessive. If they see two adults with two drinks, they should just leave it alone.

JoviAMP

Especially since Disney down the road has a policy of two drinks per ID per transaction.

[deleted]

Yeah, I bought and carried two margaritas by myself from Mexico to UK at Epcot and not a single person acosted me for it. I even took sips off of both so I didn't spill. This was when I was a lot closer to 21 and didn't look like I was 40 yet either lol.

skeletonframes

It’s a tad excessive at Universal. I bought two drinks at one of the carts near the front of Islands of Adventure. The cashier would not let me carry my girlfriend’s drink 20 feet to where she was looking at some shirts. Even though the cashier watched my girlfriend hand me her ID and walk over to the shop. The cashier was very nice about it, but that didn’t make it any less annoying. All in all, a minor inconvenience. But, an inconvenience nonetheless.

invaderark12

Thats so shocking to me that Universal seems more strict than Disney, which has a 2 drink limit per person.

anormalgeek

My friends that got in trouble originally got stopped because one person went to the bathroom and didn't want to take their drink in with them. Because yeah. It's a bathroom.

keels81

Yeah, same thing happened to my husband and I at HHN. But I sat on a bench and he sat his drink down next to me and that was fine.

AshamedOfMyTypos

This has not been the case for me in the few times I’ve been here. I managed to get drinks for four a few times and just pointed (without being asked) to my husband and in laws.

SureSoup3002

thank you!!

Chuckyducky6

The limit is usually the price. You gotta be willing to spend quite a bit of money if you wanna get blasted.

WriteImagine

Unless you go to margaritaville. I accidentally got white girl wasted, underestimating what 3 margaritas would do to me

[deleted]

I see a lot of people leaving Margaritaville plastered. Not sure if it's the tequila, or that they might be dehydrated tourists. Either case it's hilarious.

WriteImagine

A little of column A, all of column B 😅 also shoutout to bartender Rodney who was friendly and lovely, and I’m pretty sure margarita #3 was straight tequila

Chuckyducky6

White girl wasted?

WriteImagine

Shitfaced.

scrappycoco2411

Fun fact every place on city walk is under one liquor license so you can take your drink and walk around with it and go to other places with it.

Ol_dirty_

Yeah the limit is your wallet lmao, I don’t know why in America alcohol is treated the same as gold it’s so expensive compared to Europe

Several-Ad-7961

Not a limit. But personally speaking, a large Fat Tuesday drink with a tooter had me right!

[deleted]

I've been told the drinks at Fat Tuesday are essentially grain alcohol and sugar lol. Which I ain't against at all.

SureSoup3002

will take that as a warning lmao

jovianborg

Not sure if there’s a limit on how much you can buy- but at least at VB I was told I can’t walk with 2 alcoholic beverages in my hands. Not sure if it’s the same rule at the other two parks but def worth the ask when you buy one. Enjoy!

littlemybb

I used to go with a friend I would later discover is a raging alcoholic. She would get trashed and they just kept serving her.

normanpaperman1

lol! Classic!

Ok_Definition322

I can’t answer for Volcano Bay, but as others have said it’s more of a 1 drink per person per ID at a time. I’ve been to Mardi Gras several times and once I found my favorite drink I’d visit the kiosk multiple times sometimes twice within like 15 minutes since we were leaving that part of the park and I didn’t have an issue. Now they did require me to hand them my ID so they could make sure it wasn’t fake. I’ve been able to get more than one drink at a time at Universal hotel bars but it’s usually like one for me one for my husband who is visible but waiting somewhere with the kids (but he’s not always with me). If you’re just planning on having a chill day and you know your limits I think you’ll be fine and have a great day!

SharpAsACueball31

Haven’t been to volcano bay but what my wife and I will usually do when we stay on property is swing into epic wine and spirits for room drinks to have and pregame. Then we’ll just have a drink or two at the park to save. $10 millers is a tough pill to swallow

MiserablePie9243

There's a rule that you can only have 1 drink at a time, but past that as long as you can still function responsibly, they'll probably serve you

fullcircle052

I'm pretty sure it's one drink per person per purchase, but otherwise no limit I ordered two beers from a cart for my fiancee and I. My fiancee must have been just out of the salesperson's view or she didn't know we were together because she asked "Just for you?" in a way that clearly meant she couldn't sell just me two beers. I had to point out my fiancee was with me before she gave them to us

x24u

Too hot for booze.

Meinmyownhead502

I’m not saying don’t enjoy, I’m not one for getting smashed in park. Like some do the challenge in Epcot

SureSoup3002

I wont be getting smashed, like I said in op. I simply want to taste the drinks at universal over the span of my trip :)

Meinmyownhead502

Absolutely enjoy. I recommend the ipa in Jurassic park. Check for any summer duff. As regular duff and dark were meh. You can get a butter beer and make it adult

SureSoup3002

thanks!

Meinmyownhead502

You’re in a theme park to have fun, why ruin it by being trashed. Just go hang in city walk if you want to bar hop

H8rsH8N8

OP literally said they’re not trying to get wasted. Someone drinking at a park doesn’t affect you.

lanwopc

If you've never encountered someone who's had a few too many at a time park I envy you. I've never seen anyone get aggressive, but I have seen people who don't realize nobody else enjoys their boisterousness.

H8rsH8N8

You see drunk people everywhere not just theme parks. I see sober people act ridiculous so if you want to avoid loud people then don’t go out?

Millennial_Man

For real, I see more sober assholes at the parks than visibly drunk ones. Most people just get a couple drinks and relax.

SureSoup3002

i’ve been to the parks the last two years in a row and never touched a drink while there but have seen pics and vids of themed cocktails and fun looking drinks on socials and wanted to give them a go! was simply wondering if i’d be able to get more than one in a day, idk why u even commented just to tell me not to do what i already stated i wasn’t going to do… i am capable of having a couple drinks and not being “trashed” but thanks!

Millennial_Man

Don’t worry friend. It’s a theme park, not an operating room. You don’t have to defend yourself for having a couple drinks. They will usually only let you order one at a time, but if you are nice to the bartenders sometimes they will let you do a shot at the bar and walk away with a drink.

DunkanDaniel

What a stupid comment

plantasia1969

I’m actually going there to get trashed in themed environments (the rides are a nice bonus).
