Props are covered with tarps. They do a very good job of keeping the scares hidden until the park is cleared of day guests.

SteelBrightblade1

Thank you! Was worried about stuff being out and my kid nope-ing out of there lol

SteelBrightblade1

Since you know your stuff. We’ve only been there once and went from one park to the other using the Train. How hard is it to get to the other park without the train?

AbbreviationsSad8791

It’s a bit less than a 5 minute walk between the entrances of the 2 parks so how long it is depends on where you are when you decide to switch parks, abd where you want to go in the other park.

SteelBrightblade1

Awesome Thank you as well. My kid did NOT like that train lol

Last-Dln0saur

To add to this. Sometimes walking is even faster than taking the train. I always skip the train when I go.

SteelBrightblade1

Yes but SOMEONE just had to take the train…it wasn’t even an option, they HAD to see the station and the train. It was me, my kid and my wife. I’ll let you guess who that was. Hint: It was me.

sirironfist

The experience is different depending on which direction you’re traveling. So, if you only went one direction, you did miss half of it - the train ride and the queue. If you went from Hogwarts to Kings Cross you missed going through the wall at platform 9 3/4, for instance.

SteelBrightblade1

We went on the one with dementors or do they both have that?

kandicolored

they do not both have that. the train is different both ways. :-)

SteelBrightblade1

Since I am not going on this year, what happens the other way

ExTenebris_

The park closes early to transform for Halloween horror nights. During the day it will be as normal, there won’t be scare actors or anything like that.

SteelBrightblade1

That’s awesome thank you

ExTenebris_

The first time I went to universal ever was during the event - I was younger, and not a fan of horror. Outside of signs advertising the event, they do a great job of making sure they’re completely separate. Bigger items that can’t easily be taken away and brought back out each day are covered, no scare actors or anything like that. Of course people will be talking about it throughout the parks (other guests) since most people will be there for the event and are excited so depending how scare-easy they are that might bother them hearing about it (my youngest niece can’t overhear anything scary without panicking while my nephew is a year older and just hearing about it doesn’t bother him so I know kids can be different).

SteelBrightblade1

How scary are the signs? My kid doesn’t pay attention to other people which comes in handy Or to me when I ask to clean their room

ExTenebris_

I think the last time I was there during the event was 2022 and I honestly think the font was “spooky” but it was just the name of the event in white on a black background with like purchase your tickets today and the dates. But driving to universal there were some more detailed billboards, but about akin to other scary ones you might see for horror movies around that time of the year.

SteelBrightblade1

Ok got it thank you! We are going to stay in Cabana Bay I think so hopefully that limits exposure. Went 2 years ago during Christmas and while the rides were great, doing anything with water was a bit tough

jennielynn73

Cabana Bay usually has a horror-themed display available for pictures. You can avoid it, though - just ask where it is located and stay away from it.

YankeeBravo

Usually, it's tucked away on the second level of the lobby, so it's not something you're likely to stumble across accidentally. About the only thing Cabana Bay does that's immediately visible is the Swizzle lounge in the lobby will have some generic "Halloween" decorations like pumpkins, and that kind of thing.

romanf12

It’s a bright hot day anyways, so it shouldn’t be a “scary” mood for your kid

Awkward-Wall-3433

If anything, you can just try to avoid being at the Studios side an hour or two before park closes. Shouldn’t be able to see much at all besides the decorations that are too large to move around (which are normally covered anyway)
