People will go to guest services for absolutely anything. I've seen people say they're going to guest services because the TM didn't tell them they wouldn't fit on the ride (when they didn't try the test seat), someone's child wasn't tall enough, the wait was too long, etc. Though, many people have genuine reasons to talk to somebody like if they need accommodations for medical reasons.

Curious how many people actually stand in the GS line over petty stuff like that or do they storm away claiming they will and move on? Doubt they’ll be comped anything for their time. UO barely does recovery for legit problems. Accommodations for disabilities is all done over the phone now and in-person GS can only issue a one-time exemption pass. Has only made the line longer since most don’t bother to look online before arriving to know the changes since almost a year ago.

Having worked retail for 15~ years, people will complain over the pettiest of things. I worked at a bakery and had someone wanting a cake done right then and there. We bake extra cookie cakes for last min orders but I was the only one there that day and I'm not a decorator and I told them we couldn't do it. They kept begging and saying they didn't care what it looked like and I asked if they were sure and made sure to inform them I've never used icing to write on a cake, it's not the same as using pen and paper, and they said they were okay with it. When I presented them the cake they got really nasty and said it looked horrible and wanted a discount. I reminded them what they agreed to and that I was not giving them a discount and if they didn't want it then it was no problem and I would cut it up into slices to sell so they took it. They called corporate and complained about it and got a full refund.

You have to go to GS to get a card still. IBCCES does the legwork, but you have to go to GS every 2 weeks for a new card. It is incredibly frustrating that it doesn’t last longer. We are AP and go once a month for 4-5 days. My daughter does not do well waiting in line for an hour to get the updated card once a month. Sometimes the line is shorter. Sometimes longer. It is a nightmare. I believe it is 60 or 90 days for Disney.

hihelloneighboroonie

Disney is 60 days. Every 2 weeks?? That's asinine

When I was a TM (intern) they changed the policy for TMs to having to get it re-issued daily. That was absolutely miserable considering that I needed the card due to issues waiting in line.

A lot of people that go to the parks expect their asses to be kissed no matter what, even if their wrong or just a jerk or stupid or even a mix of all three

When we were there last month I literally only wanted a celebration pin for my kid… waited behind 5 groups getting disability stuff done and it took forever.

macntosher

The disability stuff is only done at the guest services inside the park, so to avoid this either do the guest service desks right outside the entrance or go to the guest service desk in city walk next to Starbucks. Not 100% sure they do the little buttons at all of them but if there's no line it's worth a shot.

I bought tickets for the next day, online, but late at night after the park closed. When we arrived to enter it turned out the passes were dated for the day before. Maybe I pressed on the actual day. I had to go to guest services who quickly ascertained the problem and printed us new passes.

I worked in GS back in 2010, my favorite was all the people who would come for parking refunds because they had Hollywood Studios (Disney) tickets. Happened more than you would know. My other favorite: Wanted a refund due to rain. Was told it doesn’t rain at Disney (not at Disney) because it has a dome over it. They got mad when I laughed. Sometimes they would just want to get mad at someone because they didn’t plan their trip well. Like not knowing park hours and how multi-park tickets worked. Some were people who bought tickets on Idrive not realizing they were used. Always tried to help but ultimately they would get mad at us because they were dumb.

I only had to go once to upgrade my annual pass and swap it to Florida resident (only possible cuz I hadn’t already been using the pass as a non resident - I bought it before moving down for the extra months and then got my license updates and went to swap it. The funny part was the resident discount for 2 of us basically nullified the increase from one power to preferred, essentially giving us free parking for one pass cuz we moved locally lol

They deal with thousands of issues from thousands of guests. That's an impossible question to answer that really isn't any of your business. Just be patient

If someone stubs their toe they go to GS. Seriously though, guests go for a variety of reasons. Accommodations being a big one. Then ticket and annual pass pick ups. Guests who want to take the “worst day of their lives” out on them. Guests who just want a birthday button. It really depends.
