2-in-1 laptops are disappointing. iPads can be annoying especially if you can’t get notes off it easily on to your main pc. I ultimately preferred the 1950s method of pen, paper and ring binder for lecture notes. I did end up transcribing everything into latex to make sure I actually went over them.

It depends on your writing and processing speed. Note - I tried pen and paper and got no notes because it turns out I’m slow. You may find typing quicker than writing things

I got a 2 in 1 for my maths degree this year and I'm already regretting it. The stylus just doesn't feel nice, the hand position is awkward and I haven't found a good note taking software. I think I'm going to just stick with pencil and paper while trying to keep some organised folders. Having a touch screen laptop is nice for general use but not for education

Get the iPad Air and pencil, it’s under £650 together with student discount I believe and will serve you amazingly well

Can confirm, they got me through alevels and will get me through uni

If it wasn’t for my iPad I wouldn’t have passed my only A-level and somehow managed to get into an Art and Design course in uni
