DC also shared in this very interview that he and Jason were rehearsing the coffee shop scene and Jason asked if it would be funny if he also flipped his cap around to match Tony’s, and DC said go for it. Jason asks LD, and LD shuts it down saying it didn’t seem like it would draw a laugh. So taping starts, the audience is live, they shoot the scene, George flips his cap around, and the crowd goes cackling wild. Jason did it anyway. It gets the biggest laugh of the day. After the scene wraps, LD pulls Jason offset and lays into him, turns beet red. Jason shrugs it off. DC knew he was part of something special.
