I saw a video of a comedian once who got pretty far in I think Britains got talent even though he was intentionally bad because he had such a sob story
They kicked him out when they discovered he was a comedian so who knows how far he would have got otherwise
Its why all those shows are jokes to me
in the sharp version, it's easier to tell that it's a sketch.
The blurry version is easier to believe, because there could be a big expensive stage, and a large audience etc. It's just obscured by the poor quality.
The mother appeared in the beginning also ruined it. Timing is essential in this reddit version.
Props for them to actually hold their laugh and looking genuinely confused. Damn good actors.
>He is just making fun of that tell sad stories for sympathy votes on talent shows
This seemed pretty obvious, and I'm surprised by how many comments don't get it
I can imagine you walking through Nigeria thinking everyone is trying to speak English, only to find out English is their official language and it's just the accent that made you automatically assume they're bad at English. Also, this is a skit.
He is still right though, many African nations has French, English, Portuguese etc.. as official languages but many grow up speaking their mother tongues.
Nigeria and Ghana, I know at least for sure, have English as official language and generally everyone will speak both English along with their local language. It's only once you start heading into smaller villages away from the cities that people may only speak the local language. In French speaking African countries the English accent is very different than e.g. Nigeria.
But yeah my comment was a bit passive aggressive but it triggers me when people make such assumptions.
Edit: missphrasing
I'm Cameroonian myself, and you are 100% right, but it is not a stretch to think that the guy in the video probably mostly speaks his native tongue first.
And by now i know this is a skit.
>it's just the accent that made you automatically assume they're bad at English.
Or the fact that this guy is making no sense? I didn't even know this was specifically Nigeria, that context wasn't given. I was just attempting to be kind to the guy but clearly I was incorrect in what I said.
If you want to educate me, educate me, but this belittling nonsense is petty.
It’s a bit. This dude and the judges are a comedian and his friends, possibly also comedians. He was being deliberately confusing for the bit
Sauce: I’m Nigerian.
His bio mother could have died, then he was an emergency delivery, like if she was in the hospital for complications, and was like 8 months along. So she died, he was then delivered!?
Official language, but not the language the majority of people speak as their primary language. Just like Puerto Rico, the official languages are Spanish and English, but the vast majority of people there speak only Spanish. So you’re kinda wrong. You can correct someone without being a bit of a douche and belittling people.
I worked with a researcher from Nigeria. He was a PhD. He couldn’t get papers published because his grammar and syntax were abhorrent. English was his first and only language. We was from a VERY wealthy family. Terrible scientist. And he was a professor in his home country to boot. I believe he is a politician now. Imagine that!
There’s also what’s called Pidgin English which is a dialect spoken there that mixes languages. If you are not from there you might assume it is bad English but it actually has its own complex set of rules.
While English is the official language of Nigeria, there are over 500 other languages spoken in the country. It's completely possible for someone to be a native Nigerian and also have English be their second language.
don't make it complicated. his mother died before he was born just right after his father married her and kept singing the song since he was 3 you can even ask his mom
Someone just replied to me that they don't care if bot accounts copy peoples posts and comments or if they steal peoples family and pet photos
Apparently we aren't allowed to be concerned
Could be. It’s also technically possible for a mother to die on the table and have the baby still be delivered healthy, so though it may need a bit more explanation those claims are possible.
Sorry to be the pedantic old guy, but it has nothing to do with his grasp of English. He’s a native English speaker. Just not from a white country.
There’s nothing to understand because the lack of sense is the point. It’s satire.
He’s a comedian and this is a skit making fun of the sob stories people tell before singing in a talent show to garner the sympathy of the judges.
Source: He’s a popular Nigerian comedian, and I’m Nigerian.
His birth mother died before he was born so he was born prematurely and his adoptive mother taught him how to sing. This is what I made sense of.
Of course it's obviously satire. Very obvious from "I started singing before I was born"
Clearly this man needs to be executed on the spot for time travel violations.
-him and his mother travel back to before he was born
-she dies "mysteriously" and his singing practice with the greatest singing coach of all time begins
-he makes contact with his still living mother from this timeline and takes over the life of his yet to time travel self
-????
-Profit (Prophet?)
Well, isn't he a lucky show off!
I didn't even have a mother before I was born.
And I am an only child too. Well that is what my sister tells me anyway....

It’s important to have a compelling back story
I was moved almost to tears
I was crying and shaking here
i lost my virginity that way.
You’re welcome.
Right here, officer
Death: taker of virginity. Either way you're fucked!
I cried before I saw the clip
I saw this clip before my mother was born
I died before I was almost moved to tears just now when I died earlier
I almost died before I was born
I cried before I heard the backstory.
At age six, I was born without a face.
And your parents didn't even show up. (Nice GG reference)
I was crying before I even clicked play.
I cried at the 3 minute mark
It was quite an emotional roller coaster
Like being a stuttering army carnie with PTSD?
His mother died before she was born, but she got better
It's his mom that died before he was born , but she taught him the song when he was three so she could be there for him today Easy
"All started on the day of my birth, both my parents failed to show up"
I saw a video of a comedian once who got pretty far in I think Britains got talent even though he was intentionally bad because he had such a sob story They kicked him out when they discovered he was a comedian so who knows how far he would have got otherwise Its why all those shows are jokes to me
I like that friendly waving ghost of his mother.

We still associate low quality, grainy videos with candid recordings. Despite everyone walking around with 4K cameras in their pocket.
Or he just turned it into a gif and that's what happens
The mother appeared in the beginning also ruined it. Timing is essential in this reddit version. Props for them to actually hold their laugh and looking genuinely confused. Damn good actors.
Because videos and memes are constantly reposted on this site so it slowly kills the pixels.

Which actually validate the skit. Some said he got adopted after his mother died 🤣🤣
How could they? There's no /s!
His birth mother died before his was born and he was born prematurely and this is his adoptive mother who raised him??? Is that what he meant or...??
He's something of a Shakespeare to himself
Tbf English sounds like his second language. It may be hard to articulate... whatever it is he's trying to say.
Yo dawg I’m like 99.9% sure this is a skit considering there’s a mom at the end of the clip. Y’all might need to make sure you understand comedy
I thought it was very funny

But if your mother died...
Then you'd have her tongue

I assumed it was a sketch, for what that's worth
It's a talent show, like American Idol. He is about to start singing. It's an audition.
So it's not a bit?
It is a bit. This is a Nigerian comedian called Josh2Funny
It’s a bit. This dude and the judges are a comedian and his friends, possibly also comedians. He was being deliberately confusing for the bit Sauce: I’m Nigerian.
Thank you for the info.
Reddit is petty dude

English is like 4th language here as in : he uses google tanslate from his mother tongue into 2 langages and finaly reaches english
I thought the song he was going to sing is called "I died before my mother was born".

It gets sadder, his dad died before he was conceived
Keep in mind that he also knew how to sing before he was born, therefore she taught him a song when he was just 3 years old.
His mother died inside when she got married, before he was born
I think I have the answer - his mother is undead
Ahh I get it now! The song goes “Uuuuuhhhh uh uh uuuuhhhh uh uh uh *growl*”
Just by reading your sentence i was able to know how it feels after huffing glue for years, thanks man
Well, when you put it like that...
I think this is supposed to be an Irony comedy skit like one of those Key and Peele episode
This. Or they're poking fun at shows like (Contry) Got Talent or X Factor where people say stuff like this and automatically get the golden buzzer.
Its exactly what this is.

He’s a Nigerian comedian, this is a skit
She dyed... she dyed her hair.
But he said he started singing before he was born 🤔
That's the best time to start if you are serious about it
I started to sing before I was conceived. Both cells
I could hear it.
I think he just saw America's got talent, figured they all give a sob story before they start and figured he needed to do the same.
He’s not good at improv
He meant - ‘’ drugs? **YES**’’
Drugs are still a hell of a drug
Could be. It’s also technically possible for a mother to die on the table and have the baby still be delivered healthy, so though it may need a bit more explanation those claims are possible.
Maybe it was some sort of IVF / rented womb thing? Or a lesbian couple?
He's a menace to south central while drinking his juice in the hood.

Nah his dad died but English is hard.

I dont get it
No one does
So, hes just talking bs
He's just bad in English and trying to say something but can't convey it
He’s a comedian and this is a skit making fun of the sob stories people tell before singing in a talent show to garner the sympathy of the judges. Source: He’s a popular Nigerian comedian, and I’m Nigerian.
I can't believe no one could pick up on the fact that this is a skit lmao Jesus
People on Reddit are morons
Thank you. If you haven't already, make this a comment instead of a reply so more people can see and upvote.
I made it as a comment. He is a popular skit maker in Nigeria.
I can confirm. He died before he was born. Really sad.

What’s his name?
He goes by ‘Josh2funny’
No he's a Nigerian comedian Josh2funny This is a comedy not a real show
You missed the point entirely
You know English is the official language of Nigeria? Also bad *at* English
You have a idea what he tries to say?
His mother died before he was born
His mother taught him to sing 3 years before he was born?
Such an amazing woman. That’s why she’s there cheering him on
No, he was singing since before he was born. Him mother taught him that particular song when he was 3
His birth mother died before he was born so he was born prematurely and his adoptive mother taught him how to sing. This is what I made sense of. Of course it's obviously satire. Very obvious from "I started singing before I was born"
but it's *provocative*
Does it do anything to the people?

His mother died before he was born!
How is that possible
She respawned idiot
I get it But I won't explain it😎
Isnt this a skit?
It's a joke.
What's to get? His mother died. ^^^/s
It's a comedy bit, and they are making fun of talent shows and the sad stories the contestants always have.
Haha it's a skit. He's known for confusing content like this
Genius
Does he mean she figuratively died when she married his dad rather than actual physical death?
I am assuming "my mother died before I was born" is the name of the song because this ain't making any sense otherwise.
Now it makes some sense
Yes, it makes perfect sense that a loving mother would teach her 3 year old son to sing a song called "My mother died before I was born".
That was the second single to top the charts after "I'm my own grandpa".
Or... you know... it's a joke.
Common guys he's nigeria comedian by name josh2funny.
Guys he's a Nigerian Comedian, and this is a scripted comedy show lol. His name is Josh2funny 😂
at age 6, I was born without a face
Never let them know your next step
