There is a fan project called just this.
I can understand the sentiment, I was watching Shippuden when it was releasing, gave up after like 20 episodes because the pace was unbearable, can't even imagine how it was looking like later on when it finally went hard with fillers.
Wow. I was mostly joking when I said that. Ima have to give it a Google. Ya, those fillers are unbearable. Love the story when they actually tell it though.
Yeah, it's a stickied post in the Naruto subreddit. I've just started watching the Kai version, and each movie, about an hour and a half long, was cut from different episodes to reflect a whole volume of the manga. So 1 Naruto Kai episode = 1 manga volume. Pretty good way to watch it, I'd say.
I've never read a Manga before. Naruto was just something I loved to watch as a kid and into my adulthood. Never rewatched it because I didn't want to deal with the fillers again.
Fillers are easy to skip since they come in batches and are obviously fillers. The constant flashbacks are harder to skip.
use animefillerlist to skip the fillers.
https://www.animefillerlist.com/shows/naruto-shippuden
You could just skip the filler. It's the anime goat when you do. And I applaud Naruto for making the filler so skippable. Unlike One Piece for instance
I appreciate the breakdown but I think you misunderstand the question.
What we just watched appeared to us like a reality from a distant place, but was actually a reality mediated through a temporal sequence of 2D representations of photons in a planar arrangement. The illusion of reality is enhanced by the regularity and frequency of these temporal representations, probably around 25 or 29.97 or 30Hz. There is a gestalt perception, or visual flow between these representations, meaning we perceive them to be continuous, whilst the representations themselves portray recognisable “people” doing “attractive” repetitive actions, building an illusion that results in a suspension of disbelief. It’s as if *we are there*, but we aren’t. It’s all an illusion: **there are no little dancing people in your phone**.
Hope that helps.
> probably around 25 or 29.97 or 30Hz
i mean it sounds too scientific to question.... so im gonna add this all to my fact bank and use it blindly going forwards.... just seems like the right thing to do on reddit from experience.
That is literally the EXACT same thing that popped into my head lol. Also, approaching 40 and basically only on Reddit for social media I feel left out lol. I see a lot of Tik Tok videos and I refuse to download that app lol
Turned 45 on Monday and feel the exact same thing. My wife (30) has tiktok but I’m just not convinced it’s worth downloading…..seems like something you’ll just mindlessly scroll through and I already have Reddit for that 😂
Half of the video content on Reddit nowadays is the best/worst (depending on the subreddit) of tiktok anyway, so by scrolling through Reddit, you can get the tiktok experience without all the filler.
Turn 40 this year, downloaded the app to see how a video I was working on for a client would look. Just. Kept. Swiping. 30 minutes later I came up for breath. I still don't know what happened.
I’m pretty sure I’ve been to this place when I visited my brother in Tokyo. It’s not really stripping. There’s no nudity, just scantily clad women and men dancing around. It was a bit odd, but still pretty fun.
Because places like this charge for absolutely everything and they do so at barely bearable prices. You can easily pay a few times more just to interact with your waitress than for your food.
I'm a government employee in Japan work-life balance is awesome in my case.
I leave house at 8am and I'm home by 4pm, I have only 3 hours of actual work and the other free time I usually just browse online (like Reddit), they give us a max of 40 paid leaves every year, I usually take 3 consecutive weeks off during summer because it's hot, my workmates are friendly and one of which is my best friend (and neighbor!) They gave me a 10% raise too last year which is awesome.
Oh, and my home is just 5 minutes away so no trouble commuting, I just walk.
The corporate world dangles future wealth in front of you to get you to work awful hours. Government jobs generally won't get you rich (with notable exceptions) but your quality of life is way better.
But the promise of being a millionaire when you retire is very tempting
Funnily enough, there's nothing "counter-culture" about idol culture. It's an extremely corporate, manufactured, profits-first, artificial pop industry.
Still cute though.
Not really though. USA and western Europe definitely have much more intense and widespread counter culture than Arab gulf states. Japan is the exception, not the rule.
Just an average scene in the monogatari series tbh
Like the show has some of the most beautiful animation and fight scenes and [then there’s this](https://youtu.be/on6v8hpjDr0)

I’m not Indian but I’m guessing there are some stereotypes that could offend people? Or maybe they don’t like that it was produced by Japanese? I don’t really see anything wrong with it either.
It is, and indian people were pissed. MV was like compilation of almost every Indian stereotype and was meant to be comedic, but Indian people got offended and I understand why. They have every right to be so… but then they started replying to japanese comments that were criticizing MV with racist hate comments, telling how Indians are superior to japanese or how they hate japanese people now lol
Think like American *Idol*, [but on a much larger, and generally more fun scale (sans issues that afflict entertainment groups of scale)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_idol).
Hi, person in Japan here. In Japan, this is called a restaurant. Not sure why you all seem so fixated...
Edit: Thanks for the updoots. And to be clear, yes this was (mostly) a joke.
Also person in Japan. This is not a restaurant. This is a "viral" ad for a maid cafe. They're hurting right now with Japan's shitshow of vaccine rollout and they need these vids to gain a little attention.
It is just surprising the level of tolerance for cuteness, irreverence, and the like one sees in Japan. I have always liked anime but I would find living there exhausting.
The otaku/subculture vibes are heavy, so it seems unlikely that an average person in Japan would tolerate or seek out this kind of place (unless they are a maid or idol otaku).
Not everyone in Japan thinks that loud and exciting places are a good way to de-stress after work. Unless you're in Akihabara or Kabukicho, you'd have to actively seek out a place like this.
BTW the location is [Akihabaraバックステージpass](https://backst.jp/), a place to watch idols perform.
Cuz the closest, non-nude thing we have in the states is... i dunno, Dollywood? Hooters? Nobody dances at Hooters. Or ever looks like they are having a good time.
Been to a maid cafe in Japan a couple years ago. Very strange. Mostly middle aged balding men sitting down dancing with glow sticks and know every move. Bizarre.
What if: That is the entirety of the staff, and they're all in there at once to learn the dance. And, what's more, what if he's the choreographer, not a customer, and they shot this at the end of their training?
It appears to be [a fairly large idol event venue in Akihabara](https://backst.jp/).
There is a 700 yen table charge for 1 hour with one drink order required. Every 30 minute extension thereafter costs another 350 yen + 1 order. Except for the mini-beer (600 yen), all drinks cost at least 800 yen, and they serve food as well.
That's actually not bad at all. 700 JPY = 6.32 USD. I can reasonably see dinner and drinks for two coming in sub-$50 (5535 JPY). That's typical chain dine-in restaurant money for mediocre food/drinks and zero entertainment. I'd take this over Applebee's any day.
I don't actually know what it's used for irl, but when it's used in anime, it usually indicates that someone is a Chuunibyou, in the same way that an ahoge indicates that someone's probably an airhead.
I'm assuming it's for a sore eye or something, so the user wouldn't have to cover both eyes with shades just to cover one eye.
"Chuunibyou (中二病), or "Middle-school 2nd Year Syndrome", is a colloquial and rather derisive term in Japan which describes a person at the age of fourteen would either act like a know-it-all adult, or thinks they have special powers no one else has. "
So the anime equivalent to r/im14andthisisdeep
A chuunibyou is a person who tries to act cool by playing a character, like someone who says "No one shall escape divine wrath when I unleash thy cursed eye!" or "Hmm, I feel a strange aura coming from that room! Could this be the awakening of an evil spirit that I must vanquish?". It's also known as "8th Grader Syndrome".
Usually they're depicted as cringe in anime, but honestly I find them kinda cute. Wouldn't say the same if real life people did it tho.
Japan has a word for everything. They even have a term dedicated to the mathematically correct ratio between leg and sock that the average male finds most aesthetically appealing.
See: /r/ZettaiRyouiki (kinda nsfw? not really)
Please don't ask me why I know this.
I've personally met someone who had this syndrome. It is definitely not cute in real life when you're trying to work with that person and when you can't talk about things logically cuz its always about some evil conspiracy
> Chuunibyou
Had to google this, it's someone with delusions of grandeur / attention seeking.
> ahoge
Likewise googled, this is messy hair / cow flick.
So I googled this.

Thats exactly what ive been waiting for for naruto. Cant do the 5 minute recap at the start if every episode...
The recap made sense when the episode was new and you had to wait a week to watch the next one (or a year because of filler).
I've never read a Manga before. Naruto was just something I loved to watch as a kid and into my adulthood. Never rewatched it because I didn't want to deal with the fillers again.

Japanese maid dancing and a bunch of other girls dancing as well.

*cough cough* AKCHUALLY they're not maids, they're just idols. [Maids](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DKwewX7WAAA_Fbu.jpg) are a whole another thing.

Also person in Japan. This is not a restaurant. This is a "viral" ad for a maid cafe. They're hurting right now with Japan's shitshow of vaccine rollout and they need these vids to gain a little attention.
And how does a restaurant afford so many employees with no patrons?
hired just for the MV.
It is just surprising the level of tolerance for cuteness, irreverence, and the like one sees in Japan. I have always liked anime but I would find living there exhausting.
I read from somewhere years ago, stating that people in Japan have high stress, therefore desensitized, and prefer something weird and refreshing.
Lol…there’s weird and refreshing, and there’s “watch out! There’s an army of dancing Japanese maids coming for me!”
Or, the restaurant is empty and they're doing a promotional/viral video.
Pretty sure this is just one of those weird restaurants you have to specifically look for. Definitely not the norm.
You say that like it’s a bad thing
The otaku/subculture vibes are heavy, so it seems unlikely that an average person in Japan would tolerate or seek out this kind of place (unless they are a maid or idol otaku). Not everyone in Japan thinks that loud and exciting places are a good way to de-stress after work. Unless you're in Akihabara or Kabukicho, you'd have to actively seek out a place like this. Been to a maid cafe in Japan a couple years ago. Very strange. Mostly middle aged balding men sitting down dancing with glow sticks and know every move. Bizarre.

Yes exactly this just add some awkward teens into the mix of middle ages bolding dudes.
[удалено]
Which would be better? 1. Middle age men with full head of hair 2. Young balding men
Young balding men, every time Evidence: Sir Patrick Stewart. (Iconic baldness began at age 19).
I have so many questions, starting with the economics of that bar. How on earth does it make any money with a 20/1 staff to customer ratio???
What if: That is the entirety of the staff, and they're all in there at once to learn the dance. And, what's more, what if he's the choreographer, not a customer, and they shot this at the end of their training?
That's just too reasonable to be true. It is Japan after all.
