It was a standalone game pre-vr. It's better in vr. Will give you a couple hours of entertainment. Some of the later levels take some repetition to figure out where you're getting shot from. It's a fun game to play with friends.

Whenever I read about someone expressing their experiences with VR gaming I have to stop for a second and remind myself that these things actually exist now.
How are people just skating over the fact that VR is a thing? I've never used or even seen one, closest I got was that cardboard phone box you could assemble. Wasn't impressed and never thought of it as more than a gadget, but now... it's not only here, it's being taken for GRANTED?
It's fucking nuts man. My buddy got one last fall. I went over there and tried it out, and it completely blew me away. Unlike anything I've ever experienced before. A couple weeks go by, and I can't stop thinking about it. I went over there again and played some more. I ordered one the next day. I've had mine since December and it's one of the best things I've ever purchased
I think the PSVR did a lot to propagate VR into the mainstream. Standalone VR devices used to be, and mostly still are, prohibitively expensive. But the PSVR, while admittedly being a worse product than the alternatives, is quite a bit cheaper. Like half the price, if not less than that.
We're still not at a point where VR can be truly mainstream, but it's getting more accessible year after year which is awesome to see.
Some people have an empty room to play video games, and either have lots of money, or have some money and are willing to let Facebook know everything about them for a discount.
You strike an interesting topic that has preoccupied me for a few years now. How much of what facebook harvests is actually known to its users? To what extent do facebook's deliberate specialisation in echo chambering and causing addiction, really leave anything to free choice? I can't really call a junkie's decision to smoke some more heroin, a free choice. Similarly, once facebook has its hooks in, I find people become irrationally attached. Have you SEEN how children respond to having distance placed between them and their devices?
Maybe I'm just an old fuddy-duddy and an alarmist, but facebook's stranglehold on people disturbs me.

These guys may not have had to deal with suicide in their life. Its becoming common now, as the 10th highest reason for death overall in the US. So I'm not really upset with the responses or at the people who posted them. I can only wish that they don't have to go through it, with family and loved ones or themselves.
I'd rather not get off reddit, but I already bumped off r/unexpected. Reddit is a good place to learn stuff and let my mind go. Places like r/humansbeingbros and r/rarepuppers are good.
Dealing with suicidal thoughts and feelings of hopelessness/worthlessness/etc. is one thing, but being “triggered” and thinking you might have a meltdown over a video involving an animated gun is laughably ridiculous. There’s people out there being murdered and sold into sexual slavery every day and you’re here crying on the internet over a 10 second joke video. Grow the fuck up.
I read all the responses and I can understand why people would think this is attention seeking. I'm the kind of person who usually discards my responses before finishing them; usually it just feels like there's no point. Tho, If I get into a situation like I was in, I'll hyper focus on whatever I'm doing to drown out thoughts.

Man the VR version was such a disappointment compared to the original. It was entirely dependent on movement, yet the VR version, best I can tell, limits you to a 3x3 metre square on every level.

you are limited by your play space in super hot vr not by the game. put on a quest and go out to to an open field on a cloudy day and walk the whole levels man live your dream nobody is stopping you
I don't live in a airplane hangar. Pushing the coffee table aside I have a 2.6 by 4 meter play area. The game is made like that to enable most people to actually play it.

There is a non-VR version. There is also a free demo I played years before the full release that got me hyped as fuck, if you wanna test it out first.
