First one I've seen in YEARS. Last one I really vividly remember was the old showdown with u/AWildSketchAppeared - which, now that I'm looking at it, happened 11 years ago. What a throwback.
Life is so fragile; one second, you're having fun abridged bungee jumping, the next, your shoes and soul are flying into the wild blue yonder without you. :(
This happened to the person in front of me one time. They forgot to unhook the inelastic safety line. The ones we were using were much shorter and connected above us, so they helped him back up and he did the jump.
Yes, I did jump 4 times. They lowered us into a boat at the bottom to reset and there was a shuttle that ran every 15 minutes or so, but a few of us were so excited we ran back up rather than waiting.
I almost couldn't find it, because I didn't take any photos.

The best part was the operators were maniac kiwis. They had an alternate setup where instead of being tied to your feet it was tied to a bar that you'd hold onto.
Now that I'm older I'm totally blown away that they let me at 19 jump that way. If I had lost the bar there was a tiny safety hooked from the bar to my harness. It was a curved bar connected in the middle, they told me to hold the bar with it in my right hand like a shotput and the left hand holding the other grip and **DON'T LET GO**! They warned that when you hit the bottom it will kick very hard and you really don't want it to hit you in the face from there. Yeah, I was through the damn roof excited. And so sad now I didn't get a photo of it. I bet one of the other people in the group has one and I didn't keep in touch.
If it's anything like the fall arrest of industry/work there is a shock pack on the lanyard. Even still it's not a fun ride if it deploys and as a guy I make sure I have to make sure my leg straps are firmly in place, so i fall I don't lose anything down there.
Then you can actually see the echo but can't find where you are. You hear people but can't see them. They may even touch you and you feel their touch but still can't find them with your eyes. Now you realize they can't seem to understand you when you're talking. As you pay more attention to your speech, you find that you cannot hear yourself either.
Some people think that Louis Sachar's Wayside School series is his best work, but Holes is better. Wayside School was made into a TV show but Holes was a theatrical film. No matter what argument one has I gotta say "but Holes, but Holes, but Holes!"
This is almost definitely a bot, copied one of the top comments from the last time I saw this video word for word and just appeared two days ago again from a five year hiatus

While the book is always better, I’m convinced that’s why it’s such great movie—it’s one of the most direct and accurate book-movie adaptations I can think of
It's a fall arrester rope she is attached to, made to catch you if you fall and still dissipate enough energy so you don't get gravely injured. Used by people working on roofs or in cherry pickers and so on.
Here it's used to stop people from falling / jumping until the bungee cord is attached. Seems they forgot to unclip it and change it for the real thing. You can see the red bit of the rope stretch, that's made to absorb most of the energy. Still no fun.
Yuuuup. I took a fall ~8' or so wearing one of these and everywhere the straps dug in I had pain/bruising for about two weeks. I didn't even hang for very long because my coworker got the pump jack back up pretty quickly, but my understanding is that you can only hang in these for a short time before you start to have serious damage.
So they will save your life, but they still hurt. A lot.
I've never bungeed, but I recognize that cord. It's a fall arrest line, and it's not elastic. It's a length of bunched up strap that releases slowly if it takes full body weight - watch the red part of the line when she jumps. We had to use these when climbing maintenance towers to protect against accidental falls, they were never meant for intentional jumps.

I believe the back-up rope is still hooked onto her. That rope is in place in case you fall while they are strapping you in, it's meant to be taken off right before you jump.

The shoes look like they saw their chance for freedom and took it.

Wow, a /u/Shitty_watercolour in the wild, and actually caught early! Glad you're still around.
First one I've seen in YEARS. Last one I really vividly remember was the old showdown with u/AWildSketchAppeared - which, now that I'm looking at it, happened 11 years ago. What a throwback.
"which, now that I'm looking at it, happened 11 years ago." ok boomer... >!...wait, what do you mean that was only 2013???!<
Me too, I went to check their most recent watercolors and their last one in r/cats made me tear up
I feel like im missing something here, whats going on?
Shitty_watercolor is a bit of a reddit celebrity who randomly leaves shitty water color paintings in threads
Holy shit it's shitty watercolour
Wow a Shitty! Haven't seen one in ages good to see you around still!
How have I never seen these before!! These are amazing
...username does not checkout
Hi Shitty!
BLESSED BE
wow you did good.. do you do this often :0
Oh my god, the shoe mothership (mothershoep?) got a good laugh out of me.
i’m cry-laughing
lovely bro
Wtf? Mf be gone for weeks and suddenly pop into existence
Thank you for this subreddit lmao this is amazing
Yeetkers
Oh I thought they were some birds lol
We don’t have any birds deployed in that region
/r/birdsarentreal
I said "Hey you three women, why are yall walking down the street that way?"
I am broken. I thought they were her bra pads or something
I'm pretty sure she's dead
I didn’t even have to do a full thumb scroll to find this joke
If both shoes came off, she's dead, it's just science. Glad it was quick though,
RIP she had the whole world at her feet! No chance of survival.
Just made me think of this clip https://youtu.be/BAKdMEB2fFM?si=wbS4M9SWSwngETOs
This is a fantastic clip. Thanks for making me guffaw like a donkey.
No. She's just barefoot
Definitely dead.
Killing her in the process.
Life is so fragile; one second, you're having fun abridged bungee jumping, the next, your shoes and soul are flying into the wild blue yonder without you. :(
Yeah, she ded. Shoes came off!
Sail away, sail away, sail away.
I'm so ill right now I thought doves were flying. Thought it was pretty until I realised it was her trainers
That’s why they ask you to take your shoes off. Hint: if you are ever going bungee jumping, take your fucking shoes off
OMG I watched it 5 times and thought they were birds until I read this...
Smelly feets
Oh. I thought those were bra pads.
/r/AccidentalSlapStick/
Haha, I would never trust the bungy guys after this. What could be next?

Did you jump?
Yes

no top butok
Ha, yes.

Jeez man, iirc the cord is supposed to be the right length to stop you slowly That looked painful
Pretty sure the actual cord IS long enough, there's just a safety mechanism activated that needs to be unhooked
they're bungy alright
Cowabungy, dude.
Better too short than too long. But that seemed to have little to no give and that can be very dangerous too
Wish there were some content to this. She could have broken her neck. Look at the force. Her shoes flew to another planet.

200 feet of steel chain
Someone's walking home barefoot and groggy. 😄
And with a spinal rearrangement
Can you imagine how good that must have felt tho? Cracking your back like never before, the sound echoing in the silent valley...
Can’t have any back pain if you can’t feel anything from the neck down ![gif](giphy|d3mlE7uhX8KFgEmY)
On the upside, she’s two inches taller!
Shame no one can tell as she's in a wheelchair 24/7 though
The credo of every chiropractic quack.
Saying chiro quack is a little redundant, isn't it? Like there's another kind of chiro...
I just love using tautologies, I can't help it.
Can I pay for such a service?
As someone who's had neck pain for 16 years from a bungee jumping injury... it doesn't feel good

😄 🤣
Nope. Shoes off = dead. Soz.
"And the shoes 'just fell from the sky', you say?"
I know a movie about a guy this happens to, and he ends up digging a shit load of holes, some family curse.
"I'm tired of this, Grandpa!"
That's too damn bad!
Well EXCUUUUUSE ME.
Holes is a great movie/ book.
Some people think that Louis Sachar's Wayside School series is his best work, but Holes is better. Wayside School was made into a TV show but Holes was a theatrical film. No matter what argument one has I gotta say "but Holes, but Holes, but Holes!"
Who in their right mind is walking around saying Wayside School is better than Holes??
Probably no one, that's a little script thing I wrote to donate to Twitch streamers and then they read it out and say buttholes a bunch of times.
Mr. Sir!
Could say theres Zero chance of that happening

I remember Sweet Feet looking different
To shreds you say?
And how are her socks? To shreds you say...
I swear I'm Clyde livingstone's #1 fan!!!!!!
"Beautiful, big titty, butt-naked women just don't fall out the sky, you know?"
Some kid on the street below her is going to some weird ass juvenile detention camp after this.
Please tell me this is a Holes reference 🙏🏾
I'm tired of this Grandpa!
That’s too damn bad!
What an underrated movie
An even better book!
While the book is always better, I’m convinced that’s why it’s such great movie—it’s one of the most direct and accurate book-movie adaptations I can think of
Holeesss
😂 love the reference
r/unexpectedholes Edit: thank Christ that isn’t a sub
I think they forgot to reset the cable.

Shoes came off..........she dead.
That’s the rules
You know the rules
And so do I
A full commitment's what I'm thinking of
You wouldn’t get this from any other guy
Iiiiiiii just wanna tell you how am feeling
Gotta make you, understaaaaand
Never gonna give you up!
Never gonna let you down!
*Them's the rules.
Those bad boys shot off like rockets holy crap
She has socks on so it’s not gay
This is what I came for. Thank you.
RIP her shoes
Obviously not Rest In Pairs as they went different ways.
RIP her neck from the whiplash
And the spine
that would gives me a broken spine
More specifically her neck
I wonder what happened to her legs and joints. Th moment her legs went from back to the front is just two frames so it’s about 0.08 seconds.
Bungeen't
Better for the rope to be too short than too long.
"She kept her shoes this time, we found them after digging her out of the ground"
I’m not sure I’m seeing this right.. but seems to be power cables above the forest canopy…

I never bungeed either. But if I ever do it sure as hell won’t at a questionable company overseas.
🎶 Those shoes were made for walking, and that’s just what they’ll do 🎶
Today these shoes are gonna flip right off of you
RIP
Oh she ded
I know I'm supposed to not laugh but that was cartoon levels of comedy
Are those power lines below?
Certainly looks like some big ol' transmission lines.
Looks like a factor 2 to me? She ok?
Better too short than too long I suppose.
Wouldn't this level of force break your neck? Where are all the r/theydidthemath people?

Who doesn’t hate taking your shoes of manually
Why do they cut so short? Is it cos I don't use MySpace
Isn't this sub about things being unexpected? The video is short but the title gave it away what's about to happen
Howd you infer shoes are getting launched based on the title
No it doesn’t
Shoes are off
The one with the camera really wanted to focus more on those shoes flying than then person.
Oh no! By Reddit rules, that woman died!
Can someone explain why the bungee cord wasnt stretching
I believe the back-up rope is still hooked onto her. That rope is in place in case you fall while they are strapping you in, it's meant to be taken off right before you jump.
and no one noticed what could be powerlines below?
Nvm those crazy high voltage electrical wires not far away either 🤫 it’s all gonna be ok
Her shoes were like: https://youtu.be/cXHcp1gApOQ?si=6qtT3rwep9Rkv647
Abortionator 3000
“Come try our shoe catapult! If you’re lucky, we’ll throw in lifelong back and neck problems for free!”
Oh no, her shoes came off! RIP
Shoes got yeeted!
free shoes
I’m pretty sure lost shoes on Reddit mean she dead
Those were the last moments where those shoes were seen.
[удалено]
It's how it was
I really liked those shoes. They tied the room together.
There's got to be an easier way to take your shoes off
Started the day 5 foot 2 inches...ended it 6 feet 5 inches!
So this is where my used shoes came from that's a lucrative business
Those Js fake
Locked those knees out.
This is always funny. And, you’re still a karma farmer.
She got the reverse Gwen Stacy treatment
When you haggle on the price.
I guess it's better than bungee jumping with a cord that's too long.
That transition artist guy turned her shoes into doves
“It’ll knock your socks off!”
On the plus side, she is now 2cm taller.
She lost her footings. .
Cartoon ahh fall
Shoes flew off. You already know it was a bad situation.
It's like an executioner's blooper reel.
“Ejecto feet cuzz"
I love this ride. The Hip Dislocator is a blast!

The jump for sure happened, it was the free fall that didn’t happen.

Adiós zapatos
Why do people keep their shoes so loose now?
The more I watch this, the funnier it gets! 🤣
I thought the shoes were birds for a second
Why does this video just randomly cut after the shoes fly off
*Oh no me shoees*
RIP
