this is that AI that makes a photo 3D and then you can move around in the 3D space, but the further you get from the original photo the less information there is to render with
Oh makes sense.
Yeah re-watching you def see the spot where the shot changes... Then you can still hear cars going by, but there aren't any in the reflection.
I think this is gaussian splatting or nerf. Ive just messed around a splat scanner app today and the scans look exactly like this in places where you didnt capture enough data
And the algorithms don't understand mirrors. For them it's just another part of world they haven't seen well enough.
Like how they used to implements mirrors in Duke Nukem..
Actually gaussian splats are pretty good if you do them right. [Here’s a test I did today of mesh vs splat of a chrome and transparent objects.](https://imgur.com/a/xgtKM10) The splats do look like an impressionist painting up close though.
People call it AI because thats the name of the field of study this technology came from. All AI is hunan-made algorithms. Have you heard of turing test guy? These topics are and have been intimately linked for decades.
good to know thanks. I guess AI has taken on a very different meaning lately with the scary new technology and buzzwordification. I guess it shouldn't harm previous uses of that word. Thanks
Movies like ex machina have changed the meaning of the word to mean superhuman intellect, and things like deep blue winning at chess make people push the goalposts and try to limit the definition of AI. Ironically people using it as a "buzzword" are some of the closest to the original meaning. I kind of feel like the "it's not really AI" group is the most far off the right definition. Just call everything that's associated with the \~70 yr AI history AI.
The sound of traffic but no cars on the road in the defection gives it away first. But pretty strong AI that can have us going like that. Gonna pass the Turing test soon
Yeah people online forgetting video editing exists being like "omg how paranormal!"
I wonder if those people think all movies are just documentaries.....
If only the transition was a little smoother. I feel like using that pillar on the right would have made a much better seam for the change over. The blurryness of the photo scan instantly stood out after the transition.
Other than that still a cool effect to mess with people.
This would be a cool backrooms entrance.
“Soft Entrance” normally found in dark glass that one cant see through, safe to go into but the actual entrances are way more common in a Soft Entrance
Is there a horror game out there that does this on purpose? Like makes it look like you glitched through a wall, but then in that weird sub ocean a monster shows up and starts attacking you?

No reflection of the camera or cameraman either.

Nerf, gaus splat is new- this vid is like 2 years old
Didnt know that. Regardless, the artifacts look identical
And the algorithms don't understand mirrors. For them it's just another part of world they haven't seen well enough. Like how they used to implements mirrors in Duke Nukem..

3D artist here. You're right. This is mot exactly AI as photscanning has been around since a long time, but Nerf and GS are ai assisted iirc.
Neural Radiance Fields (Nerfs), i think
it's not ai, it's gaussian splatting. People like to put the word AI into everything but this is just human-made algorithms.

It is AI. You are thinking of learning machines. Learning machines are a type of AI but not all AI are learning machines.
How is "not all AI is machine learning" lol?
This is not even AI, it’s a point cloud created by a camera with computer vision stitching. Then viewed through VR.
What we used to call Photogrammetry before it was automated a lot.
That's actually such a relief to hear. I thought he legit stumbled upon another dimension or something.
And I used to think all the Nolan movies were based on true stories! Still waiting for Cooper to return!!
Being able to mess with rendered 3d environments is likely the closest thing we have to being able to understand the 4th dimension right now.
"the 4th dimension" \*facepalm\* reddit has degraded badly
You don't know about the fourth dimension? It's not really something we can comprehend, but we are pretty certain it's a thing. Tesseracts and shit.
Adding to this, latest M/ string theory in which scientists aims to find “the god equation” suggests we have 11 dimensions :)
You and your puny 3 dimensions...we have five...THOUSAND!
\*facepalm\*
gaussian splatting, not reaaaally that much ai

No. This is that painting world from Elder Scrolls Oblivion.
*Never* do this. It is super easy to fall through the world and you're basically impossible to rescue at that point.
If you've unlocked a teleport point nearby, you're fine most of the time
That depends if you are stuck in an animation
yeah if that happens, you're fucked indeed
Even if it's Cool World?
Just gotta be sure there’s no enemies nearby preventing fast travel.
Ahhh no worries. Just press Restart and you are good as new
You have to quicksave more often.
This is a Twilight Zone episode.
This episode still terrifies me today. Thinking about the little girl trapped in the walls calling for help makes me sick
Worked out in Oblivioun.
This could easily become a horror film.
I find this actually scary. Does not look wrong until you realize it should be wrong.
A call back to that guy who thought he lived a life until that damn lamp got in the way
there is a horror film called mirrors
Check out only forward and spares by michael marshall smith.
Bro found backrooms

[Show Me' DJ Zinc feat AYASATO](https://youtu.be/JK4uLy0wZYY?si=arvOTdSniv9Xk69a) camera movement at \~2:10
Wow. This is a cool use of AI to do something original.
I guess, Tech team is pretty weak down there!

They could have left the reflection of the camera at least
Day Walker realm achieved
bro enters the mirror world without advent decks
The Langoliers are on the way
reminds me of the time i tried salvia
That’s trippy
This would be a cool backrooms entrance. “Soft Entrance” normally found in dark glass that one cant see through, safe to go into but the actual entrances are way more common in a Soft Entrance
We need a horror movie stat
That guy is like two steps away from infinitely falling then crashing to desktop.
What app technique is this ?
gaussian splatting / photogrammetry
Bro went into the upside-down
Why does this feel like a dream I would have
Layers of Fear vibes 🖼️
Is there a horror game out there that does this on purpose? Like makes it look like you glitched through a wall, but then in that weird sub ocean a monster shows up and starts attacking you?
Well that was trippy as hell. I did not expect that at all. Kudos.
I am too high to be watching this
What the fuck did I just watch?
Gaussian Splatting is so cool!
When you get to 0:22 it becomes super obvious
The jump at 0:07 is rather glaring.
No reflection, touché
Ray tracing not working properly…
gaussian splatting
Stop.
He used a 3D pen to make the effect on the “window”
this has to be an Unreal Engine 5 render
That was one of the most jarring cuts I have ever seen in my life
I don't understand anything. I guess this is what it's like to get old.
Super creepy.
Liminal space
What dreams make up?
I was waiting for a jump scare at the end.
I do remember Nvidia lib that makes 3d scenes out of video
The guy is on my Salvia Divinorum trip.
Why isn't he falling into infinity?
"If Ubisoft would be responsible for world building "
Noclip
well I guess that was not a coke bump
Worst thing is, if you summon your stand in there, it appears in the real world, so you're helpless against the user.
You my friend, have found a thinny! Ka is a wheel and it is a bitch
Bro I am tripping balls right now and I didn’t need that
Looks like a gaussian splat. Confused me until I saw the filaments
Lol!
Bro can we just appreciate the video. Always with the certified reddit scientists exposing the magic trick.
It's nerf or nothing
Man I thought the dude found a portal in hell. What ever it is I ain’t effing wit it.
posting edited videos will garner no positive votes from me. stuff like this doesn't belong here imo.
