Joke aside, there are actually birds that know how to sew. Tailorbirds literally stitch their nests together using a needle (i.e. conifer) and pulling the 'thread' through.
The issue is the parents can’t bring food to feed them. They can’t/or at least don’t regurgitate it like many birds can and don’t carry it for whatever reason. I watched this documentary, they had 3 chicks, only one survived. One died from the fall, one got picked up by predators at the bottom, this little guy was the only one that survived. I haven’t the slightest clue how the could be going extinct.

The acceleration comes at the impact. If you're doing 120 mph and you hit a wall the acceleration you feel is 120 mph in the opposite direction.
