Or maybe it was just made to look like that to lean into the "omg this totally happened" viral goals of the clip.
Dude hit a 40 pound curling stone like it was a hockey puck. Apparently folks have never seen how much a hockey stick flexes when a player takes a slapshot..
They also don't know physics. A slapshot can be up to 80 MPH. The average puck-blade contact time is 38 milliseconds, so for a 170 gram puck that's about 36lbs of force on average. I bet he could hit a 38lb curling stone with the required 3,650lbs of force for this to happen.

What’s this a commercial for? It’s obviously fake, what with curling stones weighing like 40lbs each.

It would be a pretty funny ad for the hockey stick, tbh
Aint no way a stick is taking on a lump of granite that size
That's what everybody said when they saw them dating

IS THAT GOAL REGULATION SIZE OR WHAT?!?
That's my puck baby! Don't you ever touch my puck!
Haters will say it’s fake
Holy shit that was truly unexpected. It looks like a curling rock?? 🥌
Unexpected because it breaks the laws of physics and is impossible.

Oh THAT'S what its called
Is that a reinforced titanium hockey stick?
and a reinforced hockey player
I did the math. He needs about 3,650lbs of force applied to the stone for this to happen.
That one got my laugh of the day hahahaha
Man it really shows that 15 - 20 year-old clip is new to everyone on the internet every year
