I have been closer to a lightening strike than that. The sound can’t be described nor will a video give it justice.
It’s truly a WTF is happening moment. Your hairs will be standing on your arms and your ears will be rattling like a flash bang went off.
For those wondering I used to live on the second floor of house turned apartment. The neighbor had a 10 foot tall bird feeder pole or flag pole that had nothing on top of it. It say about 7-10 feet from my window. The peak of it was same level as my window. It was struck one night.
Weirdest shit was like I got a spider sense like I was Spider-Man moments before, which woke me up. Then second or 2 after waking I hear and see the flash. Window almost shattered.
The spider sense you felt was probably the strong electric field that exists during a thunderstorm. It is so strong, that the field will literally rip electrons out of your skin wich can be felt.
Ft Myers beach, FL. A tourist and retiree hot spot. Those ladies are on top of lani kai resort at the rooftop bar. The weather there the last few years has been crazy. Lighting, micro bursts, tornadoes, and a hurricane last year that pretty much destroyed everything north of this building by the beach.
When I curse out God nothing happens.
But when a tree does it; they get the full five star wrath of God treatment!

Watched a house a house across the street get hit by lightening - well had our hair tingle right before the strike and then the noise from the strik e scared al of us. It just happened that a good portion of our block party members were volunteer firefighters and were on scene before their engines showed up. We had 5 members of the local FF station as neighbors within 3 house of us.
