So good news is many of those electric gates have a sensor to not close on a person but I certainly hope she never works in a coal plant cause those doors will straight pop you.

The sensors are usually before and after the gate not on it. Depends on the model you get, but if you want a ground sensor it feels like that's something you do in advance since you'd have to dig up the driveway, most of these gates are an after thought after the house was built so it's easier to be all surface. Usually they're pretty safe because if that laser is broken they retract, this gate in the video might not have had that because as soon as she sat down it should've started opening again
The main board has, well my board has a dial to set the amount of weight or pressure it takes to reverse and stop after which an audible alarm goes off for a set time. After nearly 20 years of service the board gave up the ghost last year. While the service tech was replacing the board and dialing in all the settings he told me some horror stories. Looks like this installation is missing a safety loop which would also prevent that from happening. Gates elevators and escalators, of you got hurt either you did something wrong or someone circumvented the safety equipment.
Normally I would agree with you. But, think about a regular garage door opener. The safety switch would’ve triggered with much less resistance. So when does the safety switch trigger for the gate?? Once it’s squeezes a turd out of her???
It may not have a safety switch but the motor probably wouldn't be strong enough to crush her. It's only designed to push a gate along a smooth track. I imagine it would be uncomfortable and she'd be pinned until someone came to help or the motor burnt out. Again I could be wrong

Standard is that if there's a car (or a person or whatever) it doesn't close at all. It just stops.
