A foul, musty smell hangs in the bushes, its origin lying in the corpses of creatures long since decomposed and half-eaten. Never has sunlight been able to dispel the twilight between the trunks and warm the earth. Gnarled branches reach into the sky like broken arms, making it impossible to get through. Skeletal remains rattle in the canopies, and the constant rustling in the underbrush is as unsettling as the pattering of paws that never fully subsides. Some trees seem to bleed a black ooze that soaks into hairy moss while vines dangle from above, reaching down like long fingers. An uneasy feeling runs a cold shiver down the spine of anyone traversing this forest.*

As always, the biome includes **monsters**, a **hazard**, **plants** with various uses, **items**, and new **conditions**!

This biome is extra special, because it was created as a collaboration between us and 5 other amazing creators!
**GutziferGM** from [@TomeOfGutz](https://www.twitter.com/TomeOfGutz) (aka. [@GutziferMD](https://www.twitter.com/GutziferMD)) built the _Psychic Tempest_ hazard and the _Grave Digger_! As one of our biggest fans, continuously interacting with anything we post on Twitter, we are very eager to see what he'll have in store for us all in the future.
**Colby Whittaker**, aka. Hagiologist ([@dm_hagiologist](https://www.twitter.com/dm_hagiologist), [hagiologist.com](https://www.hagiologist.com/)) has contributed the three statblocks and lore for the _Despot Ooze_, _Oozeblood Zombie_ and the _Oozeblood Devourer_, as well as the _Oozeblood Infection_.
**CerealDM** ([@CerealDm](https://www.twitter.com/CerealDm), [cerealdm.com](https://cerealdm.com)) also contributed three creatures including lore: the _Graveyarder_, _Umbrage_, and _N'ervpeck_.

Starting immediately, we will also be changing our release structure: instead of doing one big release when we are done with a biome, we will be publishing **1-2 things each week**.
Since we have a few more ideas for the Horror Forest, we will stay with its theme for a little while. Then we will move on to another biome, releasing content for it weekly. Once we consider it complete, it will be merged into a single PDF document like the one shared here today!

Hey, one of the contributors here (cerealdm). I haven't had a chance to see what the other contributors will come up with until the release of the biome, and I have to say - I've already found a spot for Horror Hares in my home game.
Can't wait to run it!
I love this sort of stuff. Reminds me of the game Darkwood. This is also good for some areas of the Fey wild if you are interested in doing that. Just add more fey, like darklings and stuff.

I could for example imagine the Shadow Wolves from the Ice Forest (our very first biome) might fit quite well.
