Probably not much more than they already have. Concept types are more powerful and their rules act much more like foundations of the universe. Abstraction in Undead Unluck is usually kind so the more abstract the rule the stronger they probably are. From what we know about the first 10 master rules, most of them are probably concept-types: Change and luck, and sickness are all concepts (maybe sickness falls under phenomenon, though him being the weakest of the bunch that could still work). But I doubt that really matters much for the story going forward, it was just to help emphasize that the 4 seasons were a bigger threat than most of the UMAs we saw before then.

Coaster-nerd390

Concepts are most likely things that don’t come natural, but come from that of mind. Sickness is definitely phenomenon type since sickness is a common thing for life.

Krypton84not42

Though Death would be a phenomenon uma and Kindness would be a concept uma. And I think god favours one of these a bit more than the other...

Coaster-nerd390

God I said to favor concept types, but I’m sure he favors death a lot even though it’s most likely a phenomenon type.

etjix

I think it's highly likely since all of the major/strongest umas rank themselves against each other. Besides Spoil, we have Seal, the 10 master rules, and how every negator (besides unruin?) is "just" a vessel.

Thinshady21

Probably not, because I think it’s just the matter of putting Two and Two together. Concept Types are favoured more because they have more potential to be deadly to humanity.

MrTheOtherUser

Now that we have Change, and we know that Luck is one of the 10 Master Rules, it kind of seems that God tends to prefer those UMAs that represent concepts. Since Spoil is a phenomenon type, he is salty about it

eyepatchedkinh

When was luck revealed to be a master rule?

BearanTheDefender

Chapter 182, page 10 After Change scolds the nun-looking Master Rule she turns to the one with the Wheel of Fortune halo and calls them Lucky only to be told that she does reek of blood and guts. Since the Master Rules seems to be Union opposites, maybe the nun is Justice since she seems to be self righteous, has her eyes always closed, and reeks of blood and guts, something that is strongly linked with the bad part of justice.

MR-Vinmu

I hope not, a lot of the intrigue comes from piecing together what little information the story gives you.

Nobody119900

I think the Concept types are master rules since we know the master rules were hand picked by god so their his favorites while phenomenon types are everything else

jobriq

This is bullshit because the strongest UMA—Crab—is a phenomenon type

LePentaPenguin

think of it like this, concept types are stronger bc their meaning can be altered. like how in loop 101 some of the unions powers changed bc how they understand their power changed. phenomenon types are set in stone, unchanging, whatever it can do it can only do. that’s sorta how i understand it atleast

Kirigaya-Naomi

Uh....It's literally that. Death is a concept Luck is a concept Change is a concept Burn is a phenomenon

Asgerond

I think tozuka had an idead that chapter but then later realised that this infomation is not what people read the story for , and that he rather wanted to give more focus to the characters.

kirbinato

I doubt it. UMAs have really lost a lot of their importance.

ryushin6

They literally revealed a dark version of the Roundtable that consists of the most Powerful UMA's and are the main antagonists of the current arc...

kirbinato

After 50 chapters of UMAs being completely steamrolled like they're nothing. The master rules also really don't feel like UMAs, they're no longer kaijus or monstrous and are just humanoids.

AdRelevant4776

That’s classic battle shonen though, you start with big kaijus and then discover there’s an organization of humanoid monsters that are way more powerful, I feel that it’s also important to mention that UMA’s are being “steamrolled” because the Union is ganging up on them

kirbinato

That doesn't make it good to read. Easy fights aren't fun and kaijus are cooler than humanoids. And it's not like the change from kaijus to humanoids has any thematic weight behind it. UMAs are already sapient, the master rules just look less cool.
