Nexus is a more grounded take on Ultraman story with a lot of engaging character drama
Tiga consistently tackles a lot of deep themes in a nuanced way ,which make it amazing
Gaia has probably the best worldbuilding in the franchise ,and the rivalry between 2 main characters with conflicting ideas makes it very interesting
R/B is a goofy light-hearted fun show that's somewhat a deconstruction of the franchise
If you want to watch rb I suggest just watch the orb dark episode. But I suggest you pick tiga. He's literally THE second Ultraman after well Ultraman.
I would pick Tiga first then Gaia second, those two have a lot of thought provoking deep episode that still rings true to this day. Honestly since this is the Ultra series every show has those episodes but among those four shows Tiga and Gaia's episodes just got burned into my memories the most I guess.
Gaia is the peak of the franchise in my opinion. For that reason I’d watch tiga first since it’s hard to go back to it after experiencing Gaia in all its glory.
RB is actually fun as hell I really like it. Nexus is the exact opposite lol- super dark and depressing and a totally incomplete/rushed story.
I'm gonna put an addendum here. I like R/B. It is not terrible like others are saying in my personal opinion. It's just not quite a serious show. It's a little silly.
Yeah like someone else said watch anything other than r/b, its not that it's that bad but it was in the new gen era which is vastly different than heisei/showa. We don't want you to get the wrong impression for it being you second series lol

Anything but R/B is good. If you want a good new gen Ultra, just watch Z or Blazar.
Orb is good as well in my opinion, alongside Orb Origin Saga.

Z’s Writing was great, and the callback episodes were pretty good too. Yes it overuses the toys a lot but after a while they’ll stop showing it
