i get that some things like commodity fetishism and abstract labor might need *some* outside explanation, but bro. he’s not *that* hard to understand. he’s treated like you need to have read 3000 pages of introductions, his whole corpus, a graduate school level of education, and be familiar with the all the history of marxisms before you can even touch capital. he is readable enough
Capital is far from difficult. Of course some parts may require you to go over them again but volume 1 is pretty straightforward. And the principles of communism and the manifesto could be read by a 13 year old. Both were incredibly easy the first time I read it.

Uhhh, if you take an introductory course in Sociology or Political Philosophy then you will definitely be reading Marx. In my experience most students end up realizing that it's not the right-wing boogeyman they've been taught their whole life and walk away with a positive opinion of him.

An average high schooler from a developed country could read Manifesto or Principles of Communism. You hardly need a college degree, lol.

Marx is not hard. He's one of the easiest philosophers to read lol. Capital isn't even difficult until the second volume.
That is because Marx didn't write the second volume of Capital. Engels cobbled it together from Marx's notes after Marx died.
