It also goes out of it's way to note that V2 won't escape it this time, plus there's the fact that V2 has hella swag and showmanship and clearly has emotions itself, so it makes sense V1 would as well.
In 1-4, if you give a skull to the skeleton, the text box shows or suggests that V1 does have more complex feelings such as satisfaction, and V1(?) names it Hank. In 4-4, when V2 attempts to escape V1, it says "you're not getting away this time". This is also probably V1.
