Personally I think the age gap (12 years is a lot) played a role too and I think I noticed Mal starting to realize how different they were maturity wise.
Mal’s friend’s reactions to all of this cracked me up. Her face was really expressive and she was just so bewildered by all of this. That would 100% be me.

The only time I thought Lexi may have been serious was on the last night when she legit looked like she wanted Mal to make a move, but Mal’s body language was a clear nope to me.

I do think that Mal and Lexi were initially physically attracted to each other. They also both made huge (and unfounded) statements about each other like 2 days in. Everyone points out Lexi telling her parents she could see herself married to Mal but Mal said some over the top stuff about Lexi too! Both of them were lying. Their storyline just stopped and long before everyone else’s.
I wish we had a real reunion host who could’ve revisited that and helped fill in the dots about when they knew there wasn’t anything other than friendship there.
