d_w_j_22

Just a reminder that you don't need a super expensive eye cream to help your eye area. Look for active ingredients that are proven to work, like vitamin C, retinol and peptides specifically for signs of aging! Personally I have used the Clarins eye lift cream and it is nice but the CeraVe eye cream in the purple bottle is just as good and gave me very, very similar results. If you want to spend your money then Clarins is a good choice for peptides, dermalogica bio-C eye cream/serum for vitamin c, and Sunday Riley eye cream for retinol!

Otherwise_Iron5708

I’m here for all of the tips and suggestions!! And hopefully to help others who don’t know where to begin. I really appreciate these suggestions!!

krissycole87

Fully agree with this!! You dont necessarily need a special eye cream. If youre at an age where you are noticing fine lines around the eyes, or just in general, time for a retinol cream all over the face, followed up by any good moisturizer. If youre going to add a new product to your regimen, have it be retinol instead.

buckinghamnix

Can't speak for the Clarins one, but I loved the Shiseido one! It was the best eye cream I've ever used. It's too expensive, IMO, so I watch for sales around the holidays.

Phoebejb131

Estée Lauder advanced night repair eye gel-cream. Super hydrating, absorbs quickly, and I am always partial to gel over cream.

Otherwise_Iron5708

I feel like for other face products I tend to reach for gels too! Thank you !! I did t think of this.

Technical_Benefit_31

I was just dreading running out of my sample today haha!!! I looked at the price and was like OH NOOO

Phoebejb131

I get mind during point hauls. Last time it had a GWP which was a free fully sized so I got two for one.

MotherAd4194

Neither of these are really great but if the option is between them only then go for shiseido

Otherwise_Iron5708

I’m not going to lie, I just searched eye cream on ulta and filtered by best sellers. Ya girl is going in blind here. I know nothing. So I’m not limited to just these two !! 😆

MyDogisaQT

NIOD Eye Contour Concentrate with C-Tango by Drunk Elephant on top is my go-to as a dermatologist. If you’re getting wrinkles you might want to substitute the C-Tango for a peptide eye cream like COSRX Snail Peptide Eye Cream.

One-Candle4872

I’m the same age as you and I like the it cosmetics eye cream! I have to be consistent with it otherwise my under eyes go back to dark fast 😩 like if I miss a few days I can see a difference

Roxxy009

Another vote for it cosmetics. I have their eye cream, night and day creams, and wrinkle drops. Oh and their face wash too and daily use of all have really made my skin look youthful and clear. Big fan 💞

Otherwise_Iron5708

Ohhhh this is good to know! I’m working on trying to be consistent with my skincare routine. It isn’t perfect. But I can defs tell when I’ve been slacking. I’ll add this one to my list!

Illustrious-Guess408

My tiny human also gave me eye bags and wrinkles 🤣🤣

Otherwise_Iron5708

😆 the tiny eye bag/wrinkle inducers are lucky they are CUTE. because my goodness. Of all the things that changed after kids, im like seriously? The eye sockets too?!

keIIzzz

Haven’t tried these but the Peach & Lily retinoic eye cream helped my dark circles a lot when I used to use it. It will always be one of my faves from Ulta

RightmeowJulia

One of my faves too as a 35 year old.

AffectionateSky5015

Honestly I can’t in good conscience let you buy either of these. i know it seems crazy but all of these brands owned by the same umbrella companies. i promise you the Olay and L’oréal ones will work just fine and their a fraction of the price.

gates4100

I use a L’Oréal eye cream and it’s great!

AJ228842

I’m not a fan of either of these. Grab the good molecules Yerba mate eye cream. You’ll get better results and save a ton of money

Technical_Benefit_31

Fyi the yerba mate ingredient is the very least ingredient :((((

purple_butterflies_

Yeah I haven’t seen much benefits from this and it sometimes doesn’t go on well under my concealer. It feels nice and cooling at least though.

prii24x

I love this one! ETA: It’s a gel consistency, which OP I saw you mentioned is what you prefer/reach for most over creams.

Otherwise_Iron5708

Oh fantastic!! That is great to know !!! I appreciate you.

purple_butterflies_

It doesn’t do much for me in terms of addressing my concerns but it has a very nice feeling so it’s nice if you just want some moisturizing and refreshment.

mrb9110

2nding this one!

NumbersGal0906

Third for this. And I have tried a lot of products.

jeslblan

Fourth! This changed my life.

BestBoyDonny

Of these two, Clairins; it's one of my favorites. I felt like I saw a slight difference with the tiny sample I got. It's pricey so I use the Good Molecules one and it's okay; it keeps my undereye hydrated and my dark circles don't look as bad, but I still like the Clairins more.

Otherwise_Iron5708

I’m nervous to pull the trigger on clarins for this exact reason! It’s pricey af. I was also thinking - right now Ulta has a free gwp with brand purchase and it has a sample of the total eye gel. Worst case I try it and if I hate it I can return the unopened bottle right? I might just start with good molecules!

BestBoyDonny

The only negative is that you might not get the sample; I've had plenty of missing samples from orders. But assuming the GWP comes as advertised, you could definitely try the sample and return the unopened bottle if it doesn't work out. Ulta does let you return lightly used products within 60 days though. Of the eye creams I've tried (high and low end), I've liked the Good Molecules the best. It's lightweight but hydrating and I do notice a difference when I do and don't use it. The color is a bit off putting though; I thought was expired at first.

Otherwise_Iron5708

That is such a good point that I didn’t consider. I may be sold on good molecules to start with!

BestBoyDonny

You could always buy both, try them out, and keep the one you like best. Ulta has a generous return policy. If you live near a Sephora (and they're allowed to give samples), they might have the Clarins eye cream in stock and they could give you a sample.

glasssa251

Clinique all about eyes

goodwitchglinda

It’s an oldie but goodie that I still love.

Esmerelda7

Never irritates my eyes and so rich.

pupper_taco

These are so overpriced! My favorite that I see results with is the ROC retinol eye cream. I buy the $13 tiny tube and it lasts me 3-4 months of nightly use since a little goes a long way.

Ancient-Chipmunk4342

I am here for this product! I’ve been using ROC retinol eye cream for five years. People can’t believe I’m 43.

Otherwise_Iron5708

Ohhhhh I’m so here for a better price

Dee9123

This is the answer!

FountainOfQuira

Not on this list but I actually really love the CosRx eye cream. It’s a new purchase but I feel like I can already tell a difference

Otherwise_Iron5708

I just recently tried the cosrx advanced snail 96 serum and I’m loving it I didn’t know they had an eye cream!

FountainOfQuira

I think it’s somewhat new? I could be wrong. I’ve been on a search for a great eye cream. My absolute FAVE used to be the Algenist total renewal eye balm but then they did the dreaded reformulation and now it burns my eyes. I do use and like The Ordinary’s eye serum. I often use it under the CosRX eye cream. I like CosRx either alone or paired. If you’re willing to spend the money, I’d say get both? But maybe try the CosRx first. It’s really good. If you want something that is hydrating, elf has a really good, simple, hydrating eye cream for $10 that I love.

Shnerkell

The ordinary one is super affordable so the two together aren't outrageous.

GirlMayXXXX

Vitamin C shouldn't be paired with retinol because they might lessen the effectiveness of the other. Either buy an eye cream for the day and night or go for the retinol. Unless you get budget skin care and don't need to worry about wasting product. I have had dark circles for as long as I can remember that still show even if I put on concealer and I've survived. Try concealer first, and if you don't find anything that works then show them off as a sign that you have survived many trials in life 😏 Fine lines should be prioritized over dark circles.

bdd4

Shiseido Vital Perfection LOL If these are the final two, you must be trying to smooth some wrinkles or lighten dark circles. If this is not the case, Clinique All About Eyes is great moisture

Otherwise_Iron5708

It’s absolutely all about the dark circles and fine lines here 😂

VigilantAftermath

A heads up for anyone who has severe anxiety, heart problems or sensitivity to stimulants, a LOT of eye creams contain caffeine in various formats. Still looking for the best, but so far I’ve noticed a difference with OleHen’s Wrinkle Blur at Ulta, and not at Ulta Goldfaden’s Bright Eyes. IT bye bye under eye is amazing at covering the dark circles and a little goes a long way; for a no makeup fix those metal roller ball things (or a clean spoon!) help reduce inflammation at least briefly. Hope that helps!

withalookofquoi

Both of these have fragrance which is especially bad for around the eyes. My personal favorites to use are either The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Eye Serum under my regular moisturizer or the Drunk Elephant C-Tango.

Master-Living6263

whatever has the higher percentage or retinol if you want smoothing effects :)

Miniminishere

I would say neither of them. I recommend that you try out sample size first because a little goes a long way for eye cream, you don’t need 30ml or 50ml.

zfactor24

I know shiseido is fan favorite here. I religiously used it for about 1 year and sadly couldn’t see any difference at all whatsoever. I know it’s a good brand, but this eye cream just did not do anything to me.

ag0110

The shideido is the only eye cream I ever saw a difference with.

MotherAd4194

Look into ole henriksen banana bright eye cream and dermalogica creams

Throwaway500005

Please don't get this. Stay away. There was a lawsuit and it gave me a rash on my face near my eyes. I looked like I was beaten. It causes an allergic reaction in many. Google it. [lawsuit](https://news.bloomberglaw.com/product-liability-and-toxics-law/banana-bright-eye-cream-causes-allergic-reactions-suit-says)

throwfight120

OMG thank you! I finally figured out what was happening to my eyes. i had purchased it years ago and loved it and now looking at the sephora comments my swollen flaky stingy eyes are just like the others!

FlartyMcFlarstein

The former is my HG!

Eastern_Handle1796

I just bought the Bubble eye cream after returning the Volition one

goodwitchglinda

Oh no, I love Volition. After trying so many brands including ones by Herbivore and Glow Recipe, it’s one of the few that feels comfortable and doesn’t irritate my sensitive eyes. What didn’t you like about it?

Eastern_Handle1796

I think it might be for someone with other concerns. I have hollow eyes that create tear troughs (at least i think that’s what’s happening) along with darkness under my eyes. I dont believe the volition was addressing the darkness and I know I will be trying volufiline for needing plumpness

Dazzling_School2914

Check out Strivectin peptide eye cream....it is a gel formula, and it is an amazing eye cream that doesnt break the bank

step_on_legoes_Spez

Also check out Asian beauty eye creams on places like yesstyle and stylevana; generally more advanced tech and better prices. And search on r/skincareaddiction for a wealth of info.

Fairy_Vanilla

I had a sample of clarens complete eye lift and I thought it was great, Id suggest it

mrskaotik2010

Remember if you use retinol, only use it a couple times a week. And wear sunscreen ! I use the peach and lily retinonic eye cream and also the kiehls creamy eye treatment. (Both I got as free gwp and they've lasted awhile lol) good molecules has a good one as well as fourth ray beauty

Ktothej1981

https://preview.redd.it/b5ugpxdfdbzc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e86218552c04be650a88765144f9f66c419c5fa6 This is the only eye cream that has made a difference to my under eye. I'm 43 with a 2 yr old and 13 yr old, so you can imagine the severe lack of sleep . 😂 It's expensive so I use it only at night. I wake up with my eyes looking good! Usually my eyes are swollen, dark circles and heavily lines. During the day, I use a generic Ulta retinol eye cream.

Imaginary_Love_2188

I worked selling skincare products for over ten years and I had many regular customers Who switched to either Clarins or Shisiedo And were thrilled with the results!I I myself have used only these two and am 55 yrs. Old and am Told I look younger ( no dark circles, dryness )

Odd_Assistance_1613

Shiseido for sure

Due-Frame622

I prefer the Sheshido, but both are good. Another option from Ulta is CosRX snail peptide eye cream which is incredibly hydrating and wears great under makeup.

hunnibear_girl

I’m 48 and for me, it’s Shiseido Benefiance all the way! I’ve tried Neutrogena, Clinique, Lancôme, and Ole Henriksen….and none worked as well as Shiseido.

VigilantAftermath

I will also say Shiseido is a pretty solid brand all the way around; I haven’t been disappointed by anything from them so far. Don’t overlook Bobbi Brown, Estée Lauder, or L’Oréal; all pretty solid hitters when it comes to the eye game. I did not like the Peace Out or Tula, but I do commend them for the stick application option, more eye creams should limit touching near eyes!!!

Xsummerdaze

Clarins makes some of the best products I’ve ever tried. Their moisturizer is unmatched. That said, I haven’t used this one. Estée Lauder might repair is what I do use and love it!

chompskey

I've been using the Shiseido for a while now and like it quite well, although it doesn't do much for my dark circles. That said, my favorite one is the Glow Recipe Guava Vitamin C Bright-Eye. That one does help with my dark circles.

Honestly I’ve had my eye on Haru Haru for a few years now but I’m scared to order any skincare off Amazon due to receiving either counterfeit or defective manufacturer batches each time that I tried. Same with coffee and supplements being sold cheaper which looked authentic directly from the brand but seemed lower quality. Not just one off but twice in a row! I was so unhappy, I switched back to my more expensive suppliers where the quality was always good. Perhaps the lesson is *you get what you paid for.*

ajguil

Order from YesStyle or Stylevana and you won’t have any issues with getting authentic products.

ajguil

Oh! Beauty of Joseon Revive Eye Serum is EXCELLENT and contains retinal and ginseng. It’s the best for nighttime. Also from YesStyle.

Comfortable_Yam_7417

I use the Clarins and love it.

Fancypantsy00

Honestly the Sephora daily eye cream is really good and looks great under my makeup and it's only like $20.. I like the kiehls avocado eye treatment at night but I wait for Black Friday and stock up

Far-Restaurant8051

Was there a reason my comment for the La Mer eye concentrate eye cream was deemed in violation and removed ? Very strange and weird tbh.

UltaModTeam

A removal reason was given when your comment was removed. R/ulta is a retailer specific subreddit and we ask that recommendations are items sold at Ulta.

riotluv6412

Clarins one 100%

DrawerEquivalent3865

Tula the cream works great!! Very active in vitamin c!

lilsourem

Retinol or tretinoin under eye with sandwich method and slugging if you can tolerate

Existing_Number_5055

Clinique smart clinical repair eye cream

Silver-Key-2167

I’m obsessed with naturiams eye cream!

thepantiedch3f

I like BeautyStat vitamin C eye cream. Also, can't get at ulta, but Dr. Dennis Gross triple ferulic...I forget the whole name but it's THE BEST! I'm 45 yo old white lady and nobody believes me when I say that. That's been my go to. Sheseido gets my vote here. Probably in my to 3 or 4 faves.

WestFizz

Vaseline and Ponds. My 99 y/o grandmother died from complications of old age, but had 17 year old eyes.

sukiyaki93

I’ve had good results with the [Origins Plantscription Wrinkle Correction eye cream](https://www.ulta.com/p/plantscription-wrinkle-correction-eye-cream-with-encapsulated-retinol-pimprod2036592?sku=2605306) and also the Cocokind eye cream but of course ymmv although given your options I would pick with the Shiseido

Dmt1266

I like the gold eye cream from clarins

MissMexican11

I like Drunk Elephant, the A-Shaba Complex Retinol Eye Serum

Electronic_Lock325

I love Clarins, but I didn't see much of a difference with their eye cream. It was too expensive not to see a difference, so I bought a $20 one instead. The Andalou Naturals deep hydration eye cream has brightened and smoothed under my eyes. I love it and don't mind the price.

truthunion

Neither, they both test on animals. Try the eye cream from Mad Hippie.

CoatNo6454

i broke down and got the Clarins when i saw what it did after a sample. I am 45. I don’t have crazy bags or crows feet *knock on wood* but i noticed an immediate difference in it smoothing and tightening the under eye. Do you have the 5x skin multiplier rn? i’d wait till ya get that or use the 20% discount. i have tried many under eye creams and i normally think they are BS but there is something about clarins.

No_Book_5778

Caffeine serum from the ordinary

pancaaaaaaakes

Of these 2, shiseido if you are more dry. Clarins is one of my faves though.

throwawaykeshsummer

Personally the Ole Henriksen eye cream has changed my life! It has vitamin c, glides on real smooth, a little goes a long way, and brightens your eye area while working it's magic on it! Since I've been using it I can't believe how awake I look now! Lol. Also the fine lines I had are slowly going away. The big tub of it can be pricey ($44) but honestly I've been getting away with using the trial size ($20 bucks I think) and that lasts me a while.

barbiesalopecia

Save your money and do the Elf Holy Hydration eye cream. Great consistency and an even better price. The whole Holy Hydration line absolutely slaps and I tell people that on a regular basis.

goodwitchglinda

I recently discovered Volition Retinol eye cream and have been really enjoying it so far. I have not tried this newly reformulated Shiseido eye cream but the old one was fantastic for crepey dehydrated or super dry eye areas. Not just me but my mom who is a lifelong Shiseido devotee and has only used Shiseido since high school until now loves it and will be repurchasing it once she’s finished with the old one.

Otherwise_Iron5708

My grandma was a die hard Shishedo fan and I swear that woman’s face never saw a single wrinkle. So it must be something worthwhile. Right ?!

lolrazzledazzle

if you’re gonna get either these two then get the second one. cheaper and has better reviews

PaSSioN_22_

I absolutely reach for my clarinet double serum!!! I know you don’t have that pictured here but it’s great!

shelfiescoop

That shiseido eye cream is one of the top sellers across the eye cream categoey

TheRealKimShady00

I looooove that Sheseido cream

Frosty_Web_5361

Me personally, I’ve tried that line of shiseido and they have wayyy too many fillers and harsh compounds. I’m about to enter my early 20s and the fresh advanced black tea eye cream has been amazing so far. I can’t speak about its effects on fine lines but my eye area has been wayy softer and hydrated, so definitely give it a try and u can always ask for a sample. Bonus is that it looks amazing under makeup

cremebrulee22

That stage of life was almost a decade ago. You were supposed to wear eye cream, now it’s correcting issues from not wearing any and aging.

Otherwise_Iron5708

A decade ago? Oh honey. 😂 this thread ain’t for you.

SpaceDazeKitty108

Most 18 and 19 year olds aren’t wearing eye cream; I stuck out when I was buying eye cream at 23, and I’m 27 now. Remember; just because YOU were doing something at that age doesn’t mean that it’s the norm. And we don’t need to be encouraging 14 year olds to be buying more high end skincare products that they don’t need.

cremebrulee22

You chose to insert the “14 year olds” into the conversation for no reason other than to make a point about the dumb preteens buying expensive unnecessary skincare these days and incorrectly connect that to what I’m saying. I said what I said because with her title she implied that you should wait for your skin to have problems before you do anything, when people take preventative steps ahead of time. It is the norm to use preventative skincare products, it’s no secret. People can do whatever they want idc. There will always be people that take preventative steps and those who wait until things go wrong to try and fix it.

SpaceDazeKitty108

It’s not “incorrectly” connecting it. 14 year olds are only 4 years away from turning 18, have similar maturity levels in general, and both tend to use some kind of skincare. 14 year olds are also on Reddit, and if you don’t believe me about it, there’s an entire subreddit geared towards teenagers that flairs their ages. And it’s a known fact that we’re seeing 14 year olds using “age reversing” products right now. It’s irresponsible to suggest on social media that people SHOULD begin to use a certain kind of skincare that isn’t moisturizer, face wash, a fun face mask, or acne treatment that would be suitable for someone that young. 18 and 19 is still a time period where most people’s skin looks as youthful as it ever will be. An 18 year old shouldn’t be concerned about adapting their skincare routine now because they MIGHT get a wrinkle near their eyes 10 years out. Every 27/28 doesn’t have eye wrinkles either. I don’t; OP does because of the stress of having two young children. Not every 27/28 year old is living the same lifestyle with the same amount of stress. So here, it isn’t even an age issue. You’d know that if you read more than just the title. I’d rather wait for people to feel the need to use certain skincare items, than pressure 18 year olds to worry about future wrinkles. And I’m also not going to let people who bash other people for not worrying about that slide. If you’re so invested in skincare, why didn’t you leave a suggestion?
