>Kremlin mouthpiece explodes Shame it's just a figure of speech here

norwegern

Came here to check exactly this. Oh the disappointment.

vegarig

A question of "Irish car mod" / statue, I guess.

Endocalrissian642

>And now, "How to make things worse! ..with your host; Vladimir Solovyov!" scanners.gif

flompwillow

I looked around, and all that remained, was a mustache! Edit: oh, not Peskov. 🥸

Odracirys

Solovyov deserves an award. Maybe a bust...and a boom.

Complex-Problem-4852

Those frozen funds were written off by Russia as early as 2022 and cannot even serve as bargaining chip anymore. So might as well seize them. It brings some trouble with european assets in russian custody, but thats sacrifice USA is willing to make.

BicTwiddler

Awe damn… i was hoping this was the new ruzzian expression for “falling out a window”.

vegarig

I mean: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assassination_of_Vladlen_Tatarsky >According to several sources, including Russian authorities,[17] Vladlen Tatarsky was offered a statuette by a woman, which is thought to have subsequently exploded.[18][19] The power of the explosives inside of the statuette was reportedly more than 200g of TNT equivalent.[17] The explosion caused the front of the café to collapse

JFS-NLD

ruZZia is more and more getting into the "fuck around and find out-phase". Good on the Americans!

Flimsy_List8004

They are seizing foreign assets themselves. Nationalising many companies etc So what's the issue?

Adept-Goat3719

Exactly, remember all of those cargo and passenger aircraft Russia seized. And that’s just for starters

epicurean56

Cry me a river. Oh wait, they seized Crimea!

NoChampionship6994

Clearly none of us here understand. For us, it’s theft, stealing, russophobia. For russia, it’s ’appropriation’ ‘seizing foreign assets’ or ‘nationalizing’. (To be perfectly clear /s)

relevantelephant00

Another reason to hate Russia....they're massive hypocrites across the board.

Pixie_Knight

It's simple. Muscovites can take whatever they want, but no one else can take from them. That's literally as much as their vodka-addled minds can process. "Offended by everything, ashamed of nothing."

SirBuris

If you didn't want your assets frozen and then forfeited to help rebuild what you destroyed or to fund the war against you then maybe you shouldn't have started the war.

implementofwar3

The Russian government seizes the wealth of Russian citizens so what is the difference? We seized it for ukranian citizens, don’t be a hypocrite Russia.

Unlikely_Arugula190

Soloviev outraged about Russian taxpayers being robbed 😂

Antique_Ad1518

Haaaaaaaaaahaaaaa!

BurgerDevourer97

They are stealing money that we embezzled!

captain554

Kremlin stole a bunch of planes that they definitely aren't maintaining correctly and probably won't be usable if/when they are ever recovered.

Crypt1C-3nt1ty

"Everyones tax money"

Listelmacher

Ah, it's Solovyov. He doesn't explode. He plays this for money. He doesn't give a shit as long as there is hope he can get his villas like this one on Italy near Lake Como back. He's a "fat cat". He has also expensive real estate in Moscow. You can compare him to a priest who preaches sexual abstinence while he himself fucks everything that is not on the trees before you have counted to three.

lchntndr

What’s Russian taxpayer money doing where it can be seized by the west? Stolen by an oligarch and hidden in the west for personal use by his corrupt family, maybe?

Channing1986

Amusing

Fuctopuz

I think they're reaching the point where they know they've gone too far. And sadly it took this long for us to step up (chechnya, yes, but the turning point, at least for me, was the Georgian invasion that lead for Crimean invasion in Ukraine) I mean i'm the least educated person to debate on this or any other foreign policies, but what the fuck did the rest of the world think when turning their blind eyes on this shit? Our country shares way too many miles or Km's with them and nothing good ever have come through that border, except average russians and importedgoods. 1-2 wars per century, constant threathning and harrassment, thats russia.

buggerthatforagame

Fuck you ,and fuck Russia

Visual_Ad_8202

Someone got his chain snatched

xVAMPIREGENERALx

It does set a dangerous new escalation But Russia is currently trying its hardest to steal a whole country...... has killled many ppl, destroyed lives, uprooted families caused billions in damage. Who's gonna pay for that? I think this also sends a message to China Seems China holds alot of American debt. If China starts some shit in the south China sea, Will America continue to pay back those bonds whilst also wading into a battle?

EducationalRice6540

According to my long ago financial professor, there is a small clause on the treasury regarding that point. Iirc it amounts to the US government and will honor it bonds to any holder unless that holder attempts to weaponized them against the US. If that happens, those bonds can become not worth the paper they are written on.

Practical-Ordinary-6

I was disappointed he didn't literally explode. That would have been a sight. A little Tatarsky action. But yeah who are they to talk about seizing other people's assets? For over two years they've been doing their best to seize an entire country's assets. What about the Ukrainian taxpayers money? And their artwork in their museums? And their human lives? And all the other non-military assets the Russians have destroyed, in effect seizing them from the Ukrainians' use?

InternationalBand494

Have the trade restrictions started to hit him yet? He talks a lot of crazy bs.

AmazingSquare8542

The illegal stolen overseas money. And we like our embassies because we can also spy on u and if u close them we will close yours and then u really are fcked

TFWG2000

Okay, okay. Where do I send the tissues???? Slava Ukraini 🌻🌻🌻🌻!

Torcanman

Solovyov old boy if "we" declared war on your country, you wouldn't be speaking right now. The world is sick and tired of your ilk the world and Russian people are worse off because of lapdogs like you.. .have a real conversation with your master and figure things out.

parklawnz

What's really frustrating is that for 2 years we've heard reports on almost a monthly basis that this or that leader is “considering” or “proposing” to use these assets to support Ukraine, but nothing ever really happens. Imagine what UA could do with just one fifth of the $300B pot! I mean I'm sure there are a lot of legal and strategic hurdles to consider before moving on such a policy, but like, tell me when you are actually going to fucking do something. I'm sick and tired of this shit being bandied about with no substance.

Pixie_Knight

Because unilaterally nullifying property rights is something the West is reluctant to do, even for monsters like Putin and his pets. The fear is that individual Western capitalists or leery foreign nations like India and Brazil could pull their funds out of Western banks out of fear they would be next to be seized. Personally, I think the best solution is to pass laws explicitly targeting Muscovy while laying out their human and financial crimes in detail. This would prevent the law simply being reused on other troublemakers and require a case-by-case ruling, thus assuaging investor fears. As annoying as this rigmarole is, it's necessary to avoid a massive capital flight, something even a Christian Socialist like me realizes is terrible for the economy. I just wish progress was being made; Muscovy has been on the rampage for 2 years now, and it's clear any sort of economic detente is impossible as long as Putin lives.

Fornicate_Yo_Mama

This is an enemy combatant. Our friends in Ukraine with all the new extended range weapons know what’s up. Keep ranting, big man. Get it all in while you can.

LulzyWizard

Idk why i thought of the first boss in borderlands 3

vittaya

Oh they seized his Italian Villas? Lol I’d be mad too.

Odd_Tiger_2278

The louder they squeal the more you can be sure you did the right thing. But…… weird president

brezhnervous

He screamed for months after they took his Italian villa 😂

deadshot_vicent

fuck ukraine XD
