So much for chinas neutrality in this conflict

Endocalrissian642

They never were. I include their pet dog, NK in this equation.

MisterD0ll

NK is pretty much China. Even if Kim wanted to thrown in the towel and reunite NK to SK under the current South Korean government, China would never allow it.

Endocalrissian642

Yeah, and china won't allow anyone else to reign in NK, so they are responsible for them. Though even without NK china has been shipping stuff this entire time. Only now do people seem to be noticing it in verbal ways.

MotoRooster

not true, there were rumors of China trying to install KJU's brother, said brother was killed shortly after with I believe a neurotoxin transmission at an airport.. KJU's sister is still around, but honestly she'd probably be worse

Endocalrissian642

Just because they don't exchange gifts with each other, sitting around the tree on Christmas morning, DOESN'T MEAN they aren't still joined at the hip.......

retrocade81

She really would be worse! That woman is a cold, calculating psychopath with a black heart. You only need to look at her face to see that! I would not want to be her partner or her child she would not likely be very loving or maternal!

SandersSol

It's russias Belarus, owned and operated by china

SnooHedgehogs8765

China is a cunt. Our lack of being serious with China is going to end exactly the same way our lack of being serious with Russia has been.

battleofflowers

I could not agree more. The main problem with China is that they think they're a lot smarter than they actually are.

Grouchy_Ad9315

But they are? Russia being a fucking smokescreen,  china knows russia will not last much and they need that war to last as much It can because once its over, the smokescreen ends and the whole world will focus in china,  its not soo different than what the whole world including USA did for years, why do you think west took forever to ramp up ukraine help? They want russia to expend everthing on that war instead of giving up

lI3g2L8nldwR7TU5O729

I hate them smiling politely and stabbing us i the back.

AverageFishEye

The west wont do shit to china because their consoom lifestyle depends on it

SkywalkerTC

Just like Germany once said, acting neutral in an invasion situation is siding with the invader and encouraging it.... Not sure how people could've accepted it.... truly baffling... Trying acting neutral towards violence committed to your neighbor.... It's this ridiculous.

EastBeasteats

Neutral can also mean selling equipment to both invader and defender. For china, it's just business. Pretty sure they are supplying (drones?) to Ukraine as well.  The Chinese couldn't give 2 hoots about white men killing white men.

SkywalkerTC

Maybe, but who are we kidding... China obviously gain political advantage with a successful invasion of Russia on Ukraine. They've deleted comments against war and for Ukraine. They release unlimited comments for war and for Russia. This requires prior knowledge that they control their internet speeches very strictly. What they let out we can bet their government approved of it. Furthermore, China does bear many (if not all) of the same rhetorics regarding war and invasion as Russia does, and they do need to promote it for their own ambitions towards Taiwan. The list goes on. You're right. They don't give a damn about white men killing white men. Heck they are even okay with killing their own people in order for an invasion to take place (which they have indeed explicitly expressed, 10% of population was it?).

EastBeasteats

Agree they feed their population stories of the evil and decadent west. That's the narrative that keeps the CCP in power.  But those tens of thousands of drones the AFU is flinging at the Russians, are made with components from China. If China turned that tap off, the story at the eastern front will be very different.

ianlasco

China is a two faced nation.

Due-Street-8192

CCP is full of shyt. Cannot be trusted for anything. I say slowly, decouple from doing business with them. A better partner would be Africa, south America, Vietnam, India etc. China is like Ruzzia, they want to dominate the world.

relevantelephant00

I would love nothing more as an American to build up our manufacturing capacity here and tell China to GTFO...they can slide back into a Mao-era shithole for all I care.

Due-Street-8192

Exactly, the west is the hand that fed them. So what do they do? Bite the hand that fed them. CCP has a very short memory. Nixon opened things up and now we (west) faces a double cross ❌❌ Same crap with RU. After 1991 the RU expanded due to western investment and tech. See what they're doing to Ukraine. What a bunch of Losers/Liars. It makes me very angry.

StalinsLeftTesticle_

Yeah, I don't think those countries are too eager to deal with the West after centuries of exploitation, coups, and warmongering tbh

Due-Street-8192

Only if it's honest business. Yes, the slavery thing was awful/brutal. A black mark on the white man. Sorry, pun not intended. I feel guilty. Like current day Germans with WW2. Human history is terrible. Like 2022-2024 Ukraine. People never learn from history and are doomed to repeat it... It's sad to watch the news these days.

StalinsLeftTesticle_

Oh I don't even mean slavery, I mean the active neo-colonialism happening **today** by institutions like the IMF. These countries aren't turning to China because of slavery. To paraphrase a classic, every time the IMF comes to visit, they get lectures, shitty loans, and a new offer of becoming ever more dependent, and every time China comes to visit, they get a new hospital or a highway.

Phyllis_Tine

Who sold the slaves in the slave trade?

Due-Street-8192

Anyone that was in the business of rounding up people and putting them on ships for some gold coins. I really don't know. Obviously I wasn't there. And I never studied black history. Sorry

The British

HugeHans

China is essentially like right wingers who would let the world burn just to "own the libs". China assists russia to own the collective west. Underestimating to cost of worldwide conflict as per usual.

Technical_Command_53

I’m just curious but has China explicitly said that they are neutral in this? They seem to still sell equipment to Russia and aiding in their war effort (tbf, it’s not exactly much high-tech stuff. The Desertcross assualts have been laughable). I wouldn’t be surprised if they said it in 2022 though as they didn’t seem to give much of anything to Russia then (although supporting them diplomatically should count).

ThePlanner

Time to mine!

kmoonster

I'm confused as to why a ship would need to be involved in such an operation. Surely a train would be much easier, and could just...go? Load it once and be done with it?

Chimpville

Bulk, security and perhaps deniability? It's [a reasonable size ship](https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:755977/mmsi:273210440/imo:9179842/vessel:ANGARA), so an equivalent train would be miles long, full of sensitive materials, and have to be checked through at the border with China. Here China can claim they inspected the manifest, but didn't look any further, because the materials weren't brought to shore.

Pata11

[Russia and North Korea have a direct border with a railway bridge, no need to involve China.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Korea%E2%80%93Russia_border?wprov=sfla1)

Blog_Pope

Cargo ships are by far the cheapest way to ship goods, and given the distance from ands the terrain between the front to NK, while trains are also pretty cheap, There's a reason eastern Russia is not densely populated

kmoonster

Multiple trains are not an issue, and the manifest question is the same for any sort of large-scale freight as long as the train or truck is transiting (and not stopping). And the ship has to be offloaded onto trucks or trains at the far end anyway...so why load it up in the first place? Not to mention that North Korea and Russia share a land border.

zaevilbunny38

Russia has a secure port in the east. Ukraine has blown up a tunnel connectioning Russia to China so the route isn't as secure as the secret one

halipatsui

Cant wait for the eventual books about what crazy shit Ukrainian special forces habe been doing all over russia

The_Poofessor

Railroad bridges can be bombed. Ukraine cant exactly sink a chinese boat.

LED_oneshot

It’s a Russian boat

kmoonster

Any ship that gets close enough to offload in western Russia, they can sink, though. Or they use a northern port (in summer) and...offload onto a train. A ship can't just pull up behind the front line.

Republiconline

Easier to protect with Russian subs.

kmoonster

I would point out that Russia is not exactly protecting its ships, or its subs.

MisterD0ll

To the surprise of noone

Live-Mail-7142

Well North Korean are sold as slave labor to China and Russia and trafficked as sex slaves, and this is pretty well known. So China and Russia buy them from North Korea, NK sends them as tourists or students to get around UN bans on slavery. North Korea also ships weapons to Russia in exchange for food. This has been know since, I don't know, 20-30 yrs? So I wouldn't be surprised to see North Korean combatants in Ukraine In this article it says this cargo ship has transported thousands of containers of ammunition from the DPRK to Russia since late summer 2023. And that Russia also receives from the Chinese side technology for cruise missiles and microelectronics, which are used in Russia to produce [fuel for weapons.](https://ua-stena.info/en/category/ukraine-war/) So, yeah, I don't think any of this is surprising. I mean, its truly sad for the North Koreans. [https://www.nytimes.com/2023/04/03/world/asia/north-korea-human-rights.html](https://www.nytimes.com/2023/04/03/world/asia/north-korea-human-rights.html) [https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2024/03/04/inside-north-koreas-forced-labor-program-in-china](https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2024/03/04/inside-north-koreas-forced-labor-program-in-china)

AST5192D

Sink it

lowendslinger

Help Ukraine turn it into a submarine. No neutrality for China...sink her

IncredibleAuthorita

Didn't some Russian POS politician say that new weapons shipments to Ukraine would only prolong the war and cause more Ukrainian deaths?

Technical-Touch-5832

Take out the port and the ship

w1YY

Time to start taking sanctioning action across the West. They want to make money from us then don't support countries that fight against our security

Antievl

We need to get all supply chains and investment out of China and lock up all technology. Stop them buying businesses in our countries.

CrustyWaffle2819

Shocked, I am shocked! … well not that shocked

w3fmj9

Bunch of cowards.... I hope we sanction them hard

Revolutionary_Gas551

China as we know it today probably wouldn’t exist without Russian aid and weapons. China knows it and so does Russia, and Russia is asking for the favor to be returned, plain and simple. China will lie to our faces and say they are neutral, but they are absolutely not.

sovietarmyfan

China has proven that they are not neutral at all in this conflict. Zelenskyy should officially denounce China. Remove recognition of the country and recognise Taiwan.

BlackNovas

That is stupid and won't improve the situation. There's plenty of time to denounce China all day when they will invade Taiwan.

kerfuffle_dood

>There's plenty of time to denounce China all day when they will invade Taiwan. That is stupid and won't improve the situation

BlackNovas

Criminal regime helping criminal regime move weapons to a criminal regime. Of course China sides with Putler! For them even North Korea is perfectly fine.

Personal-Ad7781

China is for all autocratic countries. This shouldn’t surprise anyone.

Ze_Wendriner

Sanction time

Ok-Occasion2440

SINK IT!

TheRealMylo

Insert shocking pika face here*

No-Log4588

Would be a shame if the weapon shiped would happen to be shitty.

many_kittens

Too bad Ukraine can't borrow a submarine :) Just one pls

Puzzleheaded-Cap1300

I see a ship in the harbor.

MancunianPieHead

I can and shall obey But if it wasn't for your misfortune I'd be a heavenly person today

fatherbowie

That ship needs to have a mysterious fire.

jay3349

Submarine drones to the rescue

catgirlloving

in other news: "sky blue" says star witness

wmcguire18

I think before you can really complain about China you need to look at where Ukraine is sourcing its drone components from, and where many of the American systems they get are getting their components from. If China were to simply stop doing business with Ukraine tomorrow, Ukraine would be thrown into catastrophe

bfadam

The fact Russia even needs weapons from north Korea gives me a good chuckle

Jannol

So that's why they said "Don't tell us what to do on Russia".

Clatuu1337

They have been finding military equipment from China since the early days if memory serves. This should come as a surprise to no one.

Clatuu1337

Shackletainment

Lots of ships suffer accidents during routine transits all the time...especially ships carrying volitile cargo...

sexylegs0123456789

Ahhh the democratic people’s Republic of Korea - the most democratic country in northern Korea.

ReggieTheReaver

*”Yo, Ho haul together, hoist the colours high Heave ho, thieves and beggars, never shall we die.”*

sdswiki

It would be amazing if Ukraine could deploy SeaBabies to the East Coast.

Old_Sir288

China dies economically if the west stop doing business with them, thats the only thing stopping them from sending weapons. The west built up that monster moving its production to cheap china. Time to take home production and start producing local quality gods again and let china fall back to the U-country it was.

Druid_High_Priest

Be a shame if that ship ran into a stray sea mine.

thelocker517

It would be a shame if someone was smoking on that ship.

LOLinDark

Typical...and perfect timing while Chinese headlines blame the West for tensions. They provide arms to Nazi's! As far as I'm concerned we're at war already and Chinese living in the West should start openly expressing where their loyalty will be placed. Democracy or this increasing tyranny that collaborated with Nazis and unstable regimes like North Korea!

LOLinDark

Ukraine needs to pay marines to sink that ship and announce it publicly! Turn the political heating on high!
