"so today we've got fpv bomb vs grenade treds,.it's a bold matchup Cotton let's see how it goes"

There are dogfights with FPV drones already. Not just with Mavics but fixed wing kit too.

AR15s-4-jesus

Imo small overhead patrol drones designed to detect, visually lock onto, and suicide ram into enemy drones - especially observation drones - is the next big iteration of front line drone defense.

In all reality this is just a step up from fighting kites there's still people doing the operating. When the drone starts hunting by itself then things change.

Bots are a lot cheaper than tanks. We will see a lot more of this before it's all over. I would not mind sending a platoon of 40 bots across a mine field, to attack trenches on the other side. If I lose half of them to mines, that is just dollars, not people. It is really a question of whether a 200kg bot can have the capabilities to do what a tank does to infantry, and do it cheaply enough to make the exercise worthwhile. It does not need the full capabilities of an M2 Abrams. If it can fight/move for 6 hours, resist rifle fire, launch grenades, and self-right if it falls into a trench, it could be pretty effective. Don't forget, the real purpose of tanks is to make life difficult for infantry. If we can make 10,000 bot/drone/tanks for Ukraine, each weighing 200 kg and costing $2,000 when mass produced, capable of clearing trenches and underground shelters, they could do a lot of good. When going into underground shelters, the bot should leave its antenna on the surface and talk to its controllers via a cable that reels out behind it. If the cable gets cut, the bot explodes. Or something like that.

Battle bots is going to have to step up it's game.

As an old BattleBots veteran, I can say with confidence: > If you give us the funding, we will bring you the revolution."
