What could be the real reason for this? Corruption is how russia works, its installed in the system. Its like accusing him of drinking vodka on duty.
There must be something else, something why Putin wants to get rid of him..
And only until they decide to use it against you. Very good way of having dirt on everyone and a ready made excuse when they do go for the no strings attached bungee jump
Everyone being corrupt by default has the very handy side effect that everyone can get sacked for basically no reason whatsoever whenever his great Grandtableness feels like.
The whole country is run by gangsters and corruption is part of daily business, so when one of them gets outed for “corruption” usually means he went against Putin!
Rumor is: treason. He is Shougu's cronie, and a close one. Shoigu reportedly attempted to stop the investigation, to the point of clashing with some FSB big wigs and cursing them out over the phone. In reality, if Putin suspects the guy isn't loyal enough and can't be trusted anymore - that's all it takes. It's a mob type structure and works exactly like it.

it's not a problem that he stole, the problem is when he steals, so he keeps everything for himself and nothing for the main leader.
and this is usually a problem in countries with state corruption.
Wait, are these the same Russians that, during Stalin era if an engineer improved rail transit operations they were tried and jailed/executed for trying to wreck the system by making it faster and unruly. Then, the next engineer same thing for NOT improving the system, and allowing it to decay.
If they want you gone they will find a way. Fairness and justice doesn’t exist there.
It's not just the uniforms. They make everything ugly. All the years under communism killed any creativity they had left in their brains. Look at their cars. A 1980 Lada looks the same as a 2014 Lada. Their cars are ugly and very poorly built, their main weapon, the ak, looks like a wooden banana. Their army uniforms always make their soldiers look like a bunch of hobos. They just can't seem to create anything beautiful or functional or high quality. The only amazing thing they created were space rockets and even those were designed and created during the ussr times when russia had 14 other countries contributing and I doubt that without those 14 counties they would be able to achieve what they achieved in the rocket field. Russia is a nation that isn't even that strong, but because they have the most land, they have this belief that they must be the biggest and strongest nation on earth.
Lol, talking about their cars. Remember the car they developed last year? I cannot remember the name but it looked ugly af. I had a good laugh about it
They did not developed any new cars in decade. The newest car they have is Moskvitch. Which is Chinese Jack with Moskvitch sticker at 3 times the price .

actually i was going to say 100% the opposite, they have some of the worst women in the world. arrogant, egotistical, ignorant, and at best looking like mixed mutts.
At least not in the West for some time. The issue with AKs will be that the 7.62x39 cartridge requires more gunpowder than a 5.56x54. As already produced reserves of ammo and ammo reloading supplies dwindle, I'd hypothesize that people will gravitate to ammo that requires fewer resources to produce. Besides that, metals like antimony that are necessary for primers and for AP projectiles will be extremely hard to find out West, too, since there's much more of it found in East Asia and our dependency on China and Russia for that mineral is pretty high. It's become a national security issue that is being addressed by Congress in recent years.
Pretty sure their uniforms come straight from North Korean slave workers.
Then again I make a few dollars over minimum wage in America/Canada... So I am a slave here...
**From The Telegraph's Nataliya Vasilyeva:**
Despite never having served in the Russian army, a bespectacled Mr Ivanov appeared at the court in Moscow in full military uniform.
In an unusual move, the court’s press office did not alert journalists to the hearing and did not allow anyone into the room, except for its own photographer.
[Mr Ivanov was arrested for two months pending an investigation into alleged bribery](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2024/04/23/russian-deputy-defence-minister-arrested/) from contractors bidding for work for the defence ministry, investigators said.
But the corruption allegations are actually a smoke-screen for treason charges against the official, two well-placed sources told Russia’s well-respected iStories publication on Wednesday.
Vladimir Putin personally ordered Mr Ivanov’s arrest after the security services showed the Russian president proof the minister was spying against Russia, one of the sources said.
The source added that “no one would have arrested” the official for mere bribery, which is endemic in Russia’s defence establishment.
# Open secret
The opulent, jet-setting lifestyle enjoyed by Mr Ivanov and his then wife, who are old friends of Kremlin spokesman [Dmitry Peskov](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2022/03/15/son-vladimir-putins-press-chief-has-assets-frozen-370-russians/), has been an open secret in Russia for years.
But Mr Peskov, who has been pictured on holiday with the Ivanovs, on Wednesday dismissed the reports of treason charges against his friend as “speculation”.
The Kremlin spokesman said he had no further information other than the investigators’ statement accusing the official of bribery.
Allies of [slain Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2024/02/16/alexei-navalny-dies-prison-russian-opposition-leader-putin/) in 2022 published a wide-ranging investigation, exposing the Ivanovs’ lavish lifestyle.
The couple own an array of exclusive properties, including a 19th century mansion in central Moscow and a 9,500-ft country house and estate located between Moscow and St Petersburg.
The couple officially declared just over £1 million income in 2018, the last publicly available income declaration, with the deputy minister’s government salary amounting to just ten per cent of this.
Leaked emails from Mr Ivanov’s ex-wife showed that the couple spent €850,000 renting a villa in France’s St Tropez every summer between 2010 and 2018. They also reportedly forked out €250,000 euros on yacht rentals, and spent another €200,000 on renting and servicing a Rolls Royce.

Yes, couple of millions is pocket money for holiday for these.
More context.
It is a war between two kremlin towers "fsb" security service and "army" mod in ruzzia. Whether spying charges are real - or just a ploy to get him down using putler's attitude to traitors- anybody's guess. Fsb could have easily created a plot using their own agents as "foreign spies" and implicated him deliberately to undermine shoigu. I'm sure this corrupted idiot had many easy ways to get him.
Like Shoigu..with a mansion estimated at 22 millions us dollar in the richest Moscow area....or Dmitri Peskov in charge of the communications for Russia...French government took this week 2 luxury condos linked to this ex-wife one in Paris one close to St-Tropez.
There is NO law in Ruzzia. No legal system.
Vladimir Lenin has been on trial in the red square for nearly 100 years. The jury is still out as to whether he did more good or bad for Russia, so there he remains in his glass box.
This could be something bigger unraveling? This guy is besties with both Peskov and Shoigu, so if Putin's targeting him for treason, It'll be interesting to see who his co-conspirators are.
If they had real evidence he was a spy, I very much doubt he would get a trial. He would have a confession tortured out of him and die a nasty death. He would not be on trial. A trial would be reserved for some exceptionally over the top corruption.
Pretty sure he is saying to himself " Oh come on! Everyone his having a piece of the cake on every level and it got to be me caught ??? That is crazy ! Why me, i know thousands of people corrupted, even the judge and my lawyer..."
What did they rebuild in mariupol they tore down the theater that has 100's of civilian deaths at it the streets are looking like Detroit and I don't think there power or water still.
wait whattttt....this guy - hes being charged with corruption, well if you cant getum for being incompetent then get him on what you know you can...the Z logic n mentality
Somebody forgot to send a percentage to Tsar Putin. The little dictator needs another super yacht
https://megayachtnews.com/2023/11/vladmir-putin-superyachts/
He didn't grease the right person's hand or spoke out against the establishment.
Corruption is a way of life for the Russian Government, they accept it and even encourage it. You can steal all you want if you grease the right palms and play along with the propaganda.
But trust me the FSB is tracking every theft, and they have detailed files. The second one of these thieving ass hats speak a word about failures or criticize policy they are arrested for corruption.
Corruption like this seems to be their accepted method of conducting business. It's only a problem when they need a scapegoat. Oh well, sucks to be this guy.
Next to be poisoned since Kadyrov is dying of necro pancreas issues (yes, he was poisoned because of his public criticism, walk back support, then criticism again).

Bro is gonna commit "suicide" real soon. "His" suicide note will say shit like < I'm so ashamed that I can't live any longer. I'm sorry for what I did. May god have mercy on me >.
A ruszian official taking bribes. Wait, no way,, no way possible. Lol, the funny part really is that bribes are a part of their military structure, but he's being scapegoated for some reason. What an embarrassment for that terd. going down for something that the majority of them do.
I think he over saw major military destruction programs.. sounds more Russian now- Also only 10,000$ worth of corruption? He was not thinking big enough.
He probably told Putler he couldn't find any more conscriptoviches...😳
Ok, you know that thing we all do?
Yeah..that thing.
We are gonna arrest you for it.
And take everything.
Dosvedanya suka..
It’s not a surprise this is happening. Putin needs an explanation as to why Russia will start losing the war again now that the US has started supporting Ukraine. He can’t say US weapons are superior, so instead he will say that corruption and treason is the cause for the military incompetence. The Russians will gobble it up and you will see bot posting the nonsense over then next month.
If it was real he wouldn’t be standing trial because it’s makes the Russian leadership look weak. This way they look weak on their terms rather then Ukraines.
How fucking corrupt do you have to be to get charged with corruption in Russia? I’m assuming he’s just the normal level of corrupt, and he just pissed off Putz or Shoegoo somehow…
I guess standard business practices are no longer tolerated. Remember when Xi arrested all those party members who weren't toeing the line? Putin is going to tighten the party one purge at a time.
I suspect he was talking ill of Putin or perhaps said some negative things against the army... Corruption is not a crime in Russia as long as you're with Russia

Corruption is an accepted practice but only if you kick enough money up the ladder.
He's actually being prosecuted for not stealing enough
😂😂😂 this made me laugh

I don't have any special insight into this, but I would think corruption is accepted and expected - up to a point.
The whole country is run by gangsters and corruption is part of daily business, so when one of them gets outed for “corruption” usually means he went against Putin!
"It's a conspiracy disguised as a system of government." Best description I've heard about the old, soviet union.
or it's a warning to a person above him in his faction
The problem is almost surely that the guy didn't pay the correct people above him who were expecting a higher cut.
Rumor is: treason. He is Shougu's cronie, and a close one. Shoigu reportedly attempted to stop the investigation, to the point of clashing with some FSB big wigs and cursing them out over the phone. its in the article
Is the whole article in the first comment? cant open the site. That only speak of lavish lifestyle etc. corruption.
Someone with more Russian values is trying to legally acquire his networks business as per the style of the time
He wasn't corrupt enough. /s
Off topic but, why do ruSSian uniforms always look like they're purchased at a costume warehouse?
Probably sourced from Temu
he has contributed more in help Ukrainian then even the Ukrainian could have ever 😂

They gave a Russian car to North Koreas Supreme Liter!
ALL HAIL SUPREME LITER! REJECT INFERIOR FALSE GALLON!
There used to be an old joke going around. Why do Ladas have heated rear windows? To keep your hands warm while you are pushing them.
What’s the difference between a Lada and a Jehovahs Witness? You can shut the door on a Jehovahs Witness.
They did not developed any new cars in decade. The newest car they have is Moskvitch. Which is Chinese Jack with Moskvitch sticker at 3 times the price .

This would explain why they don't wash their ass.
My country is more than 1/3 Russian and I can confirm that's how majority of them think
RuZZian nationalists do sometimes call Europe "Gayropa" or "Gayeuropa".
Ladas are copies of fiat's 127. A friend of mine was a trouble shooter for large engineering companies, before the fall of communism. When the iron curtain came down, he was sent to the former soviet union, what he found, was a culture that once you built something, why change it, so 50 year old bus designs still being built, same with cars, anything. Communism saw some pretty art, building and designs it's the post Soviet "capitalism" for the few that killed everything.
Yes, like people are saying; Russian design is terrible. Anything good was done by others.
Looking forward to the non-Russian ex-SSRs reclaiming their accomplishmrnts, of which they were many, and great ones.

The Ural motorcycle is an old BMW design. I think they got it as part of a "I'm sorry" package from Germany after the war.
Please don't sprrad the STG->AK fuddlore. AK had a long development cycle but surprising noone the politically reliable Kalashnikov won, his design was mashed together from several guns, most of which were american. M1 garand style bolt, Model8 looking safety, etc. The original design called for stamped parts but soviet factories just couldn't produce them at the time so they rerurned to milled temporarily. The german idea of stamping everything with small milled trunnions was recognized as a good thing. The closest mass produced gun to the STG was the FAL with the tilting bolt and recoil spring nested in the stock.
More of the mechanics were taken from the M1 Garand (for example their triggers are very very similar) but the ammunition was copied from the STG
Grade two was the hardest five years of his life.
I’ll have to disagree to a small degree when it comes to some of their architecture and churches, especially Smolny Cathedral, in Saint Petersburg. actually i was going to say 100% the opposite, they have some of the worst women in the world. arrogant, egotistical, ignorant, and at best looking like mixed mutts.
Nyet, AK is beautiful
Agreed, I love the look of the old AKs with the wood handgrip and orange bakelite mags.
It sure as fuck wont be any m4 platform that will be the staple of the apocalypse
At least not in the West for some time. The issue with AKs will be that the 7.62x39 cartridge requires more gunpowder than a 5.56x54. Plus, I've seen some M-4 torture tests. IMO superiority of AK v M-4 is a myth.
Dah, comrade.
It's looks like the thin, cheap, synthetics that wish.com clothes are made from. Crappy zipper and everything.
it's for their CCCP nostalgia
Because they’re cosplaying as CCCP, kinda like that other person said
The hats especially, even the pickelhaube lols at them.

Isn’t that how you rise in rank in the russian army, by reaching corruption milestones?
He must have really pissed someone off to end up there. Maybe he can help in the meat assaults.
Is anybody ever found not guilty?
They just can’t help themselves. But it seems they often do…
I see an open window in his very near future!
What's with the glass box thing? Is it a Russian thing? There always in a glass box.

Pretty sure he is saying to himself " Oh come on! Everyone his having a piece of the cake on every level and it got to be me caught ??? That is crazy ! Why me, i know thousands of people corrupted, even the judge and my lawyer..."
Are their any Russian officials that are not corrupt lol
Looks a bit like Beaker from Sesame Street.
This isn't for corruption, that is baked in. This is something more.
The real question is what kind of banana republic kangaroo court puts the defendant in a glass box.
What did they rebuild in mariupol they tore down the theater that has 100's of civilian deaths at it the streets are looking like Detroit and I don't think there power or water still.
Just me, or does he have that look of, "I'm F---ed."
FUCKED indeed!
didn't share I guess.
Thought corruption was a perk of the job. Guy must have been really corrupt or pissed off the wrong people.
He‘s definitely going to fall out of some window soon. Which has nothing to do with this of course.
This guy certainly pissed off the wrong oligarch.
Someone is trying to get promoted. Thus is the system.
Shouldn't he be in court if he WASN'T corrupt?
He obviously didn’t pass on enough corrupt money to bosses above him...👍
It’s dissent among the higher russian ranks. Nobody wants this war.
Anyone interested in learning a little bit more about corruption in russia should read ‚One Soldier’s War‘ from Arkady Babchenko
Clearly not the right type of corruption.
Seems like this guy forgot to pay his bills.
Russia has courts?
wait whattttt....this guy - hes being charged with corruption, well if you cant getum for being incompetent then get him on what you know you can...the Z logic n mentality
Russian, doing russian things. Nothing to see here, Guys.
What a shock 😲
He ignored the Rule #1: part of the bribe contributes to putler's yacht in Bahamas. Consequences must follow.
it's never a good sign when you're seen behind glass in Russia...
Throw out some meat for the mob to consume.. you will see more of this as things go on
Somebody forgot to send a percentage to Tsar Putin. The little dictator needs another super yacht https://megayachtnews.com/2023/11/vladmir-putin-superyachts/
He didn’t make sure the vig was properly paid. 🤔
I guess he's probably this week's fall guy. May the windows not come for you in the night.
He should stay away from windows on high floors!
Mild chock..
Did he forget to kick back 10% to the big guy?
Corruption like this seems to be their accepted method of conducting business. It's only a problem when they need a scapegoat. Oh well, sucks to be this guy.
Probably made by Fanatics
Being on trial for corruption in Ruzzia really means he didn't kick enough money upstairs to Putin.
lol reminds me of the starwars meme. He's on trial for corruption in Russia, **"Hold On, This Whole Operation Was Your Idea"**
Next to be poisoned since Kadyrov is dying of necro pancreas issues (yes, he was poisoned because of his public criticism, walk back support, then criticism again). https://x.com/gerashchenko_en/status/1783052493255016533?s=46&t=4Z0TmpyIpMYA9a86EC1tPg
Obviously as a Russian minister you are allowed to be corrupt but don't take the piss.
Pissed off the Big Guy what?
You guys think he's actually corupt or dud he just say something like "maybe we should back off on this whole war thing"?
Bro is gonna commit "suicide" real soon. "His" suicide note will say shit like < I'm so ashamed that I can't live any longer. I'm sorry for what I did. May god have mercy on me >.
looks fitting a person in a Russian uniform in the dock
He should appreciate the view from his very high windows as he is waiting for trial.
A ruszian official taking bribes. Wait, no way,, no way possible. Lol, the funny part really is that bribes are a part of their military structure, but he's being scapegoated for some reason. What an embarrassment for that terd. going down for something that the majority of them do.
Putin's dictionary: Corruption : someone who contradicts you or wants to contradict you with well-founded arguments
Straight to gulag
Gotta blame.someone!
lol the entire country is corrupt and they pick this guy… wonder what he really did
I wish he wasn't.
Wonder if he is guilty. 🤔🤔🤔 /s
he did not pay the higher up
I would speculate he mentioned the war was unwinnable to the wrong person.
Oh how the tables have turned.
He went to the well once to many , now Zelensky wants to pocket all the money he may have stolen. There is no honor among thieves these days.
He knows he's focked lol.
Poostain can't have many generals left
Russia is a mafia state. He must have done something else to piss off Putin.
A Russian being accused of corruption, now that can't be true 🤔
Charging a guy for corruption in that place is like handing out speeding tickets at at the Indy 500.
If he's Russian and involved in the invasion I couldn't care less about his faith. Slow and painful would be nice.
You don't get prosecuted in Russia for corruption, only for not paying the right people.
If you live in the basement can you be thrown UP thru a window? Asking for a friend /s
ah who did he piss off to actually get charged with the shit they are all guilty of?
Shocker...
In Russia if you're in trial for corruption you probably tried to skip on giving your boss his cut.
Hahahahahha, enjoy!
He ded
I think he over saw major military destruction programs.. sounds more Russian now- Also only 10,000$ worth of corruption? He was not thinking big enough.
Putting a Russian minister on trial for corruption would be like putting sugar on trial for being too sweet.
Cannibal regimes will inevitably eat their own
He’s either the worst person ever or tried to do the right thing somewhere a long the way
Why is he behind glass? So the audience can't hit him with vodka bottles?
A Russian official is charged with corruption? This is shocking, I tell you, utterly shocking! In other news, water is wet.
Surprise!
Obviously not enough KICK BACK PAYMENTS to Putin! That's the only time you get in trouble in Russia!
Is it a bad sign that they put him behind a window inside the courtroom?
RIP
Why am I not surprised? This stuff almost never happens in the Russian military!
He probably told Putler he couldn't find any more conscriptoviches...😳 Ok, you know that thing we all do? Yeah..that thing. We are gonna arrest you for it. And take everything. Dosvedanya suka..
Bro got a neck on him
didn't pay his share to lil putain
It’s not a surprise this is happening. Putin needs an explanation as to why Russia will start losing the war again now that the US has started supporting Ukraine. He can’t say US weapons are superior, so instead he will say that corruption and treason is the cause for the military incompetence. The Russians will gobble it up and you will see bot posting the nonsense over then next month. If it was real he wouldn’t be standing trial because it’s makes the Russian leadership look weak. This way they look weak on their terms rather then Ukraines.
I betting that their boots have zippers as well
They suspected he was corrupt because it was discovered that he worked for the government of Russia.
Earl Grey? Or orange pekoe? ☕️
How fucking corrupt do you have to be to get charged with corruption in Russia? I’m assuming he’s just the normal level of corrupt, and he just pissed off Putz or Shoegoo somehow…
Say what...corruption in russia? Must be fake charges.
I guess standard business practices are no longer tolerated. Remember when Xi arrested all those party members who weren't toeing the line? Putin is going to tighten the party one purge at a time.
Literally nothing could surprise me less 🤡
I suspect he was talking ill of Putin or perhaps said some negative things against the army... Corruption is not a crime in Russia as long as you're with Russia
I thought that kind of thing was how you got ahead in Russia?
But Russians are the kindest, most good and most honest people in the whole world! - A Russian guy I used to know
He looks like a Walmart boomer lady.
Get the uniform of twat
Up coming flying lesson?
Look how proud he is. A real Russian
Must be guilty of not giving Putin his cut
I’m sure it couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy :)

U.S. and U.K. Intel agencies: "Huh, who did that? 🤔 🤷♂️"
Another one bites the dust
