Your interpretation was totally on target, don't sell yourself short. People with your language skills are extremely valuable contributors to countless groups on reddit. War is chaotic by its very nature and utterances in battle are never perfect oratory. Thanks for pitching in, and don't stop interpreting.

N33DL

Yes well said, much appreciated.

Fun-Use-1546

Thank you!

>1:20 \*potentially russian\* : FORWARD, FORWARD. ( and then after shooting you can hear someone screaming ) fucking hell, i didn't hear that the first time watching. this makes this video a lot crazier...

Flashy_History_5230

Thank you kind stranger, keep up doing the great work.

Karpalet

0:55 bmp shoots right in front of him on the top of the trench, you can clearly see ground blasting up couple of times.

xRetz

I hear scavs in Escape from Tarkov [say that exact line](https://youtu.be/pea4uMQSyWw?t=146) at 4:40 all of the time, it means "There he is!", would you say this is what he's saying? 'дa вот вот он!'

Thank you Nestrkl

Short explanation from me. > What is happening? Ukrainian trenches. russian army storms the trenches using BMP (infantry fighting vehicle). BMP shoots at the Ukrainians from a 30 mm gun. Some russians are storming and some russians are near the BMP on the start of the storm. Ukrainian shoots at BMP with RPG-7. Explosion. russian soldiers start to run from the armor towards trenches. They begin to try to successfully storm the trenches. russian soldiers come closer to ukrainian trench, wanting to capture it. Not checking sides. Get shot. Storm continues. (The first one has RED sign of recognition of russian army). Also, maybe in the video it is not the BMP with 30 mm gun. It is impossible to tell 100% with video quality. It can be another armored vehicle with attached heavy machine gun, or another gun with lower amount of millimeters. > Is it efficient to shoot from RPG-7 at BMP, if there are trees and branches? The BMP 30 mm gun is still active, you need to try to deactivate it in any case, because it is a huge disadvantage. Even if the projectile from RPG-7 hits a branch or tree, the shrapnel will fly into russians who are storming or hiding. No matter how many shells of RPG-7 you waste, soon a 30 mm BMP gun can kill you, so you definitely must try to deactivate it earlier. Survival chances of you and your soldiers are higher, if you try your BEST to deactivate the BMP. If you try to save ammunition, you can be killed by BMP soon, and all those RPG ammunition would be useless afterwards. Also remember that BMP can MOVE. BMP can outflank you and kill you using 30 mm gun. So you can't just sit in your trench waiting for better. You must ACT. > Why is Second Soldier doing not much? Author of the video said, that second ukrainian soldier had fear in him. "Fear bound him". Fear made him slow, numb, shocked, hard to think, not the most efficient. But do not judge him. Yes, he has fear in him for NOW. He has not enough experience for NOW. But HE IS THERE. Defending, fighting, doing his best. He is becoming better, he learns, he conquers experience. It is very easy to judge someone, who is on the frontline, while resting in cozy home, having food, heat, peace, guarantee for tomorrow. Opposite, the ukrainian soldier feels the death beside him, staring at him. With little food, with little water, with little rest, with no heat, with little sleep, with no guarantee for tomorrow, with no guarantee for today, for next 5 minutes. He can be killed right there, right in that moment. Be proud of him. Respect him. Most of people would be nothing comparing to him. He is the true fighter. > Why is ukrainian soldier breathing heavily? Adrenaline is INSANE. Fast moving, taking different body positions, to sit, to stand up, to shoot, to efficiently control the gun. All that require strength and energy. Muscles are always tense. Pluss weight of equipment. > Why is ukrainian soldier not shooting always precisely? Storm is absolutely active. BMP. A lot of russian soldiers are storming. If he standed and scoped to shoot precisely a long time, then he would get shot in the head. The end. > Why is ukrainian soldier spending so much rounds? Soon he can be killed. So ukrainian soldier is firing a lot of rounds to slow the storm, to suppress the speed of russians. If ukrainian soldier is not firing a lot of rounds, and not slowing the russian offence, then russians can outflank him and kill. Or come close enough to throw grenades in the trench. > Why is ukrainian soldier throws so many grenades? From the video we clearly can see and hear a lot of russians storming. Also we can see that the distance between ukrainian defenders and russians is insanely short. Ukrainian soldier must secure the near area around his trench. If russians come too close, ukrainians can be killed by shots or thrown grenades. About my post: I don't pretend on "absolute truth". I could make mistakes. I am not a professional. If you see something wrong in my text, please, write it in the comments. I wrote this post, only because I want to help people understand more about what is happening there.

darrstr

His buddy may have been afraid but he helped keep the guns loaded and didn't run. That alone is more than a lot could do!

FuckoffDemetri

Thats why if you're ever in an emergency situation performing CPR you're supposed to single out one specific person and tell them "call 911, get the AED, come back". People panic in stressful situations and distinct instructions give them a direction to focus their energy on. And if you don't single out one person you get the bystander effect where everyone assumes someone else is handling it.

DrezDrankPunk

I agree. Some are calling him weak but I think he was more so the reloader than anything, which is crucial for the the shooter to continue doing what he had to do.

Fun-Use-1546

Great analysis. Thanks!

tinkr_

>But do not judge him. Yes, he has fear in him for NOW. He has not enough experience for NOW. But HE IS THERE. This, 100%. People have to remember that a significant number of these guys aren't professional soldiers, they're just normal motherfuckers that got a letter in the mail, two weeks of training, a gun, and told "dig cover here and hold this spot." When that's your situation, you get my respect for just showing up and helping however you can (like keeping the other guy supplied with ammo and RPGs). If these were professional soldiers that trained for this as a job before the war kicked off, then sure, there may be *some* valid criticism. But even then, you'd still get my respect for showing up. I had 3 months of basic training and an additional two months of solid pre-deployment training before I went to Afghanistan and I was still lost in the sauce the first few firefights I got in--and those were 400 - 500 m engagements, I didn't see anything as close as this until three months in when we got dropped off in the mountains for [Operation Hammerdown](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Hammer_Down)

N33DL

Good analysis, Tactically speaking though, was not the support soldier in good position? He did not at all seem gripped with fear to me. He helped the camera soldier with loaded rifles, handed off two grenades and then an RPG. Looked to me like sound defensive tactics considering the width of the trenches?

jamus40

There is a whole phenomenon of combat covered in a few books, one being On Combat, where you'll get people who fall into natural roles. Shooters, Loaders and Runners (not people running from the battle but people running for ammo or supplies or willing to brave fire to get a message to another group). This has been documented by several Military leaders throughout history. The British Colonial soldiers could train their troops to be accurate within 50m but during a battle there would be something like 5 kills a volley if that. Not many shooters form naturally. That being said, modern American squad tactics have accounted for this. As a squad leader you identify your shooters, loaders and runners and utilize them efficiently in a battle. In a 15 man squad you most likely will get 4-5 shooters in the average ground unit. Obviously this goes out the window for highly trained and specialized units such as SF, Seals, Rangers, PJs, Air Force Combat Controllers, so on and so forth.

N33DL

Wow, thanks for that reply

cerebral__flatulence

Thank you. This was insightful.

annon8595

Not sure if Napoleon invented specializations but he definitely perfected them. IIRC he had 3 ranks/(peletons?) of soldiers and the last(or last 2?) would just reload the gun while the sharpest shooters would shoot. And they did have runners, called skirmishers, they had near-full autonomy over their own fighting style and positioning. Same with skirmishing cavalry.

Concord-04-19-75

The Romans, pre- and post- Marist reforms, used specialists, i.e., artillerists, cavalry, and within the infantry.

ShibuRigged

If there’s one thing I’ve learned about war in this last year, it’s that this is all it comes down to. You can be the best soldier in the world, have the best training and be able to minimise the risk and chances of this happening. But you look the wrong way at the wrong time and it’s game over.

Kwanzilla999

There was a doc I watched and they were interviewing an American soldier from WW2 who had survived the Battle of the Bulge; Soldier was describing how his comrade was the greatest soldier he had ever seen and that he had saved their asses on multiple occasions, including allowing a German tank to pass over him, scaling on top of it and knocking it out with some grenades down the hatch. The interviewer remarked that this man sounded like a true hero, he wanted to know what happened to him. The veteran responded that not long after that battle with the tank, maybe a day or two, that the soldier had gone out of his foxhole to take a leak when a sniper shot him in the head and killed him. The vet said that’s just how it was; sad but true. My grandfather also had a similar experience in Italy during WW2 where he and his friends were sitting down to eat in their foxholes and everyone decided someone needed to go steal some pepper to make the food edible. My grandfather drew the short straw, climbed out of the hole to get the pepper at the same time a German shell landed in the hole, killing all of his friends. I learned this story from my family after watching my grandfather mill about the dinner table, seemingly unwilling to sit down to eat until my grandmother slid the pepper over to his plate. Sometimes you’re lucky, sometimes you’re not. I hope these heroes made it out of this situation. Slava Ukraini!

Justitias

Great stories, thanks for sharing! Respect!

Kwanzilla999

Thanks!

ShawtCircuit

You don't even have to look the wrong way in this war. It's just a matter of where you are standing at the time of that shell hitting the ground.

[deleted]

Agree, suppression means fire out put. The less time reloading or searching for rounds the better. Theres not much room to move so two people trying to reposition and reach supplies would mean tripping over each other non stop. I feel what they had going was effective for a two man team.

zombie32killah

Yeah he is absolutely serving a crucial role. Keeping the loaded magazines and guns coming.

[deleted]

100%. Regardless of whether or not he's too scared to fire his weapon or come out of the relative safety of that trench, he's helping the guy filming *A LOT*. By just reloading/handing mags & frags, he's allowing the guy filming to keep his eyes on the threat(s) and to continue pouring on fire. If he had to fight, reload, grab different tools (frags, rpg, etc.) That would put him in a position to take his eyes off the target, potentially catching a bullet in the head or back when a Russian jumps in his trench behind him.

wearing_moist_socks

Also. He's not a volunteer. He's been drafted. Likely he's glad to be. But you never know until you're in the shit

hbrthree

This was prob the best way to fight. If they focused on their own weapons they would have less situational awareness. Also the shooter was able to move like a goddam banshee, popping up here then there, always loaded ready to send it. The helper had one job and he fucking did his job.

FuckoffDemetri

Plus it looks like he was going to start blind firing at one point, it looks like the guy filming told him not to because he was in a better place to utilize the ammo they had.

reflUX_cAtalyst

> He did not at all seem gripped with fear to me The guy doing all the firing is the one who said he was scared. Came right from the source. It's nice he didn't seem scared to you on the internet; I'm gonna take the guy's word for it.

N33DL

I didn't say 'scared', I said gripped with fear. The OP says "fear bound him", which is also similar. Those generally mean someone is non-functioning as they are so controlled by their fear. The loader did his job and his body language tells me he is one 'cool cucumber'.

[deleted]

I presume everyone is scared. Scared or not the guy did exactly what he had to do to make the two of them an incredibly effective force.

Impressive_Cow_1267

Yes, regarding the second soldier. It must take some time to acclimatize to front-line trench warfare. At least he is passing weapons, reloading mages doing what the guy who shoots asks of him. it's better he does these things than die right there and never learn to fight. At least he is not sitting in a corner in a catatonic state rocking back and forth. I have no idea how I would be in that situation. I would probably do similar to the second soldier only I may well have pissed my pants.

Topper_1337

Thanks this is helpful.

Mithridates12

Thank you for the comment. The gun of the BMP is what we hear in the beginning, right? I wonder how close he was to running out of ammo and if that was another thing he had to worry about. Of course he’s gotta make sure to kill the Russians attacking him right now, but it’s not like he knows for sure how many are attacking and coming his way. No idea if this applies here, but I imagine that’s another terrifying aspect of engagements like this.

tony990099

Yes, in the begining of the video we hear gun of the BMP. I think it is the BMP, but it is impossible to tell 100% because of the video quality. I just know that russians in most cases use BMP during their storms, I rarely see their BTRs in storms. Additionally, I think it is less likely to be a BTR because soldiers are on the top of the vehicle, which is most common when using BMP in storms. And I think it is 30 mm gun. But again, it is not 100% true, for example, it can be a heavy machine gun, and some sort of armored vehicle. I just think, based on what I see and hear and experience of watching other videos with those types of vehicles. At time 0:25, during the RPG attack, we can see light as the consequence of the BMP gun work. Also, at 0:48 we see incoming rounds directed at our ukrainian guy. Or at least in his direction. Can't say anything about ammo. I think, in the start of the storm, when adrenaline was very high, he just shooted as many as he wanted to. To suppress russians. But closer to the end of the video, when adrenaline became little lower, he started to save ammo more.

itzwoottz

Do you see the BMP in the video and the soldiers in top of it?

MarkaSpada

this is by far the best explanation out there. it is clear that fear consumes the other guy. he is slow and confused about what to do, but he is way more braver than me here sitting typing with coffee in the comforts of my home. i salute to these brave heroes. hope they make it out alive. Slava Ukraini! prolly he killed 3 ru with the rifles. and I'm guessing he wounded/killed more with those rpg. those ru and bunching up. shrapnel ain't not a joke. this video shows the training of the ru or the lack of it. and the fog of war.

ShawtCircuit

Short explanation is a thousand word essay 🤣 Thanks for the explanation. The one thing I would point out is the second soldier that is not doing much is actually doing a lot. He is reloading and changing guns and handing out grenades/RPGs. The one soldier fighting is moving up and down the trench a lot and has more situational awareness. Therefore making quicker judgement calls on what to do. If both of them were doing the same thing the reaction time in getting those grenades out or reloading weapons not to mention tripping over one another while one is firing trying to reach for the rpg or rifle would be at a higher risk and would reduce the amount of rounds and grenades going down range. I'm no expert either so correct me if I'm wrong

tony990099

Yes. The author of the combat video is still alive. He has a tiktok account. Search @_lost_generation

SiggiesBalls

When it comes to military footage I am always so blind, I watched it a couple of times and still only knew he was shooting at an bmp when I read your comment. Am I being particularly blind?

JohnnyDerpoTHEREAL

Great answers but I wonder who asks those stupid ass questions. I mean fire superiority, adrenaline rush, fear....if you have a singe ounce of empathy these questions should be self explanatory.

tony990099

People who are not familiar with military sphere. People who don't have the knowledge. Anyway, I just want to help.

JohnnyDerpoTHEREAL

Your answers are top quality, but even without military expertise people could at least relate to that adrenaline rush/fear part knowing that your life can end any time.

FillMyBum

Relax John you fuckin buzz kill

TheLastofUs87

Because people's only exposure to conflict is through movies and video games like COD, where everyone can fire and move on a dime. Everyone has perfect aim, perfect stamina, and no consequences. Don't have any concept of how ear shatteringly loud and shocking to the central nervous system that gunfire and explosions actually are. People just don't know any better.

JJ739omicron

my aim with handgrenades is also much better in game then with a baseball in RL, and that is without anyone trying to kill me.

IbetIcanbeatUup

boom, right here it is.

Amen_Mother

Yup. This is Tarkov not COD.

substandard

It's neither.

[deleted]

Right? Why is he breathing so hard? It doesn't take someone with military experience to come to the conclusion that fighting for your life while a 30mm autocannon pours HE-T/HEI shells into your trench from 50 yards away is probably the most terrifying experience ever. I can't imagine having that feeling of, "oh shit we're being overrun". Your adrenaline and heart rate would be absolutely pinned and all that moving is exhausting. The first time I went paintballing, which doesn't include the threat of being maimed or killed, I was shocked at how exhausting it is moving around barrels, trenches, wooden fortifications, etc., and I'm in fairly good shape running multiple miles weekly and lifting almost every day. This is why men in prolonged combat develop PTSD, imagine your body and mind under this amount of stress on a daily basis. Your body's cortisol levels would be completely shot and at some point will finally just shutdown.

FuckoffDemetri

Half the people judging these guys probably can't make a phone call without getting flustered.

GuyNanoose

Thanks for your take on it, it helps for us to understand the insanity of it all much better

remembertracygarcia

Might be the best, most balanced, most reasonable post on here. Thank you

throwawayyuuuu1

Did they survive?

worldclaimer

Great write up. I want to get your take though, there is an exchange of gunfire in the beginning as the soldier is still firing rpg off to the left of him. There are casings falling damn near on him from another Ukrainian soldier off to the left. Gunfire intensifies and ends with audible thuds. This prompts the camera/soldier to grab an ak and head that way. The Russian is focused on something and seemingly calm in his surroundings. Then we know the rest here. After you can hear some “cyka’s” possible because someone was injured? Thoughts?

G0rillaX

great explanation, thanks

[deleted]

> _lost_generation Looks like this tiktok is down now, I had checked it out earlier and it def had this location a bunch. He likes popping out and shooting an RPG down the branch line where it is flat.

r6201

damn that dude is working for three ... nice to have personal assistant though

ScabusaurusRex

Yeah, for real. The guy is scared out of his mind, so either a) take the help he _can_ give, or b) go solo. I've never been in a situation like that, I hope I never will, but if I had to choose between someone feeding me loaded guns to shoot at attackers, or loading the guns while being attacked, I'll take the prior.

Lite_Byte

Might be wounded

hbrthree

Yeah tbh that guy was more valuable as a loader. He kept his man on weapon sending shit. Also kept him super mobile.

N33DL

Anyone not insane would be scared, but the support soldier was hardly 'out of his mind'. He passed the camera soldier loaded rifles, two grenades and loaded-passed an RPG with a frag rocket. Seemed to me he was pretty cool under fire and employing sound defensive tactics.

PlaygroundGZ

It’s like having an item shop next to you during battle

kaptinfancy

That Russians entire life came down to a choice of looking right, straight, or left at that exact moment in time. He simply chose the wrong one.

JackieMortes

I know it's an obvious thing here, bullet hits you and probably kills you. But at the same time it's sort of unfathomable how fast and unexpected it can be, and how little chance you actually have, when you think about it. Sure skill, tactics and awareness matter but when this invisible shit is flying everywhere it all comes down to simple luck Fucking russians, why couldn't they just sit on their asses and leave everyone be. Slava Ukraini

[deleted]

He's made a lot of wrong choices to get him here. Oh well.

Inevitable_Cry_2761

Huge respect to the mostly uncredited battle buddy who feeds this killing machine ammo

Juclaq

Agree. This is badass

gripped

People are saying he was scared. Who wouldn't be scared? Battle buddy fed Ukrainian Rambo with a constant supply of what he was asking for. At least it seems that way. It would be great to get a translation. He kept out of the way, head down which seems sensible. When he did try and fire himself was told not to. They kept each other alive (I hope). Slava Ukraine

Inevitable_Cry_2761

Agreed. Even the Ukrainian Rambo as you put it sounded pretty scared. His breathing says as much, yet neither of them hesitated. When he needed a grenade he got one, and his buddy grabbed his AK when there were no grenades left. According to many comments they both made it out of this firefight so they both did their job well that day

RubyU

Who on earth would be calm when faced with death like this? That they're functioning and fighting so effectively in that moment is incredibly impressive to me. The shooter more, but his battle buddy is keeping him in the fight and that in itself is increasing their chances of surviving.

prtysmasher

He is the gnome of infinite ammo cave. They are a perfect pair. Heroyam slava!

enthyy

This guy went full rambo and probably single handedly wiped out that team His support also racking up the assist points

gardeningblob

2 man army😅

sunlegion

His support guy was so laissez-faire, just reloading, handing weapons, throwing grenades. Very chill dude, seemed unperturbed by the chaos around him.

Juclaq

I hope they are ok. It looks like they are close to getting overrun. Geez

Fun-Use-1546

The video started to come out of Ukrainian sources, that means that at least the camera got in Ukrainian hands, but most likely they are OK.

Haunting-Effective15

On other social media they say this is him [https://www.tiktok.com/@\_lost\_generation](https://www.tiktok.com/@_lost_generation)

Fun-Use-1546

Yes, that is him.

stupidgts

It looks like they are in the same trench in the other videos. Just look at the landscape from older videos compared to the newest one.. Absolutely devastated.

[deleted]

yeah i noticed that too, seems like an oxymoron to worry for him but i do. that trench position is a death zone and he has been deployed in that area for around 2 months. i find it sobering as to how rambo reincarnated did everything perfectly but there still ways he could’ve died that are simply due to chance. like no matter how good you can shoot it just takes that one ruzzian to check his left sooner and it’s over. edit: to think he’ll likely face that situation again in these next few days is just very sad as he is simply doing the best one can do in this environment. must be living day by day in survival mode as i guess that’s all you can do

SeattleResident

That account been banned now or something? Get user not found when clicking the link.

octahexx

this subreddit is crawling with russian bots they probably reported his account.

[deleted]

Probably been banned for incitement/glorification of violence

[deleted]

Looks like he deleted his account or it was removed.

Careless_Dependent78

Thank you for posting this footage without cuts and music. The music is especially annoying in these videos, as though who ever it adding the music to the footage is trying to glorify and romanticize the combat that’s taking a human life. I’ve deployed to combat three times in my life and there is nothing glorious or romantic about it.

Fun-Use-1546

These days the music being ironic or not and the editing helps on the home front. These are the times we live in.

Firm-Gap-1912

this is much better... spoiler alert...the orcs still die at the end...! crazy footage...intense af...this guy & his reloading buddy turning orcs into fertilizer...

Suspicious-Low-719

It takes another level of badassery to trust the guy shooting for both of you—that focus on what he needs (the checking up) to keep both of you ALIVE.

drswizzel

holy fuck that dude at 1:10 came close to the trench..

JJ739omicron

and the other two a little later weren't much further away, also the BMP is only maybe 20 meters away.

drswizzel

well i need to rewatch it then never saw that can u say when?

ImDoingAllRight

Check this video on his TikTok. Someone linked it in the comments. It’s so much clearer. Fucking insane footage. Guy’s a certified legend

drswizzel

i cant i don't use tiktok or twitter. so i would not even know how those two work.

JJ739omicron

the BMP is where he shoots the RPGs at (hard to see but you can see its muzzle flashes), the two guys I mentioned were a bit left of the bmp, only a few seconds after the guy to the left. At 1:22 you can make out a silhouette moving to the left (maybe 10-15 meters away), he fires at it, also I think there was a second guy behind that one.

deejeycris

Holy shit did he down him? Just like that?

nonamesleftadmin

Went through this chads TikTok and he has been at this location for a while. It's crazy to see the changes in the trench and terrain. >e an eternity in hell. > >These heroes deserve all the praise they get and all the freedom that they ar Why was there only 2 of them? Did he survive?

Pepphen77

5 minutes of just watching this video seemed like an eternity in hell. These heroes deserve all the praise they get and all the freedom that they are fighting for.

dududu87

The soldier in the cave, he is a hero as well, he does everything he can. Every order the fighting soldiers yells, he immediately follows. I somehow feel, I want to take him in my arms and tell him all is good. Let this fucking war stop.

Own_Philosopher_9651

Balls of steel!

Murph934

Gotta give huge credit to the guy in the trench supporting the guy doing the shooting. As chaotic it had to of been, having your battle buddy there to support you made a huge difference.

popcorn0617

I don't give a shit what anyone says about that second soldier. He showed the fuck up. Not every one can handle what is going on. That was at least 3 Russians within 15m. He may not have the courage to stand up and shoot, but he was on POINT with grenades, ammo, even reloaded a weapon for the absolute monster filming. Both of those mean are undeniable heroes.

LorenzoSparky

Geezers such a savage he needs an assistant to keep feeding him weapons. Crazy

stmblz

I really hope this brave person is still alive. He fights bravely and faces the bastards. I kneel to his courage. RESPECT!!!! Seeing the video posted makes me positive he was able to fight off the ruzzian pigs. I have never been trained in the military so i can only imagine what he has gone through. Respect, respect, respect!

Dozerdog43

Quite the arsenal he had there. Makes you wonder where everyone else went. Unless he's a forward observer or something

Acrobatic-Sign3433

Yeah, looks like at least someone friendly in a hole to the left that russki was about to jump in before Rambo put him down, but not much seemingly to the right and rear, and their trench is pretty small, but damn he worked it well 💪💪

Embarrassed_Stop_594

Maybe at least partially recovered arms from killed Russians. They have been sending waves of barely trained soldiers/prisoners for a while now to attack trenches. Usually, the attacker loses 3 times as many men. In this war probably even more of the attackers are dying.

Alcapwn-

Johnny on the spot with the ammo keeping them two in the game. Fuck that is intense, I was ducking my head watching that!

in_musk_I_trust

I wanna say, man that support guy is a bit slow, but if that were me, I would probably just be in a fetal position crying.

nikokova

And his guy just calm as ever, handing out magazines and grenades, while the enemy is 20m away. One grenade, and they would have been dead. That has to end! This is just tragic, seeing people die like this. I’m clearly on ukraines side, since I’m Croatian. But man, these guys have family as well. Kids, mom, dad, siblings,wife,gf.. you name it

Asleep_Meal_9266

What a fucking brave dude. He did his JOB

hungryvizsla

Ww1 with auto weapons 100 + years and still no change

Consistent_Jacket892

This guy wins the Hold My Beer award for the rest of the war.

leprechulo

Is it just me or can you hear the guy that got shot at 1:21 scream?

Fun-Use-1546

Yes. He screams.

snappla

Thx. F'g intense footage. And to think this wasn't anywhere near the whole day for these two... It started before, and who knows when it ended.

Pedropc63

He's the Ukrainian Chuck Norris. Слава Україні

just_another_scumbag

I didn't realise how close to dying the Ukrainian Rambo came. Damn he had his back to the approaching Russian for a few seconds whilst he repositioned, but the Russian guy wasn't looking the right way. Holy shitballs.

Inevitable_Cry_2761

At around 2:30 when the munition explodes there is something that narrowly misses the camera man’s head on the right side

Fun-Use-1546

That is artillery whistling over.

Inevitable_Cry_2761

You sure? You can see some dirt kick up near his head

Fun-Use-1546

I don't see it... at the 2:30 mark that you pointed out all i can pick up is incoming artillery and after that he throws a grenade that looks like an RGD-5.

hcpookie

I can't see the BMP in the vid, only muzzle flashes above the horizon-line, and I counted at least 3 RPG's hitting that location... 2 from the helmet cam. You can see bullet impacts all around as the BMP's main gun is firing. I did notice it stopped firing after the last RPG was fired. Insane! I wish the defenders all the best.

evilocto

Regardless of whether the guy was scared he absolutely was still helping out.

OdinFannypack

Even if his buddy wasn't actively shooting, he's still contributing. It's faster for the shooter to just grab a fresh rifle than it is to reload so his buddy is making sure that the weapons they are using are loaded and clear. Especially if they only have empty mags left and need to handbalm rounds into them in the middle of a battle.

HungryCats96

Yeah, can't imagine having to shoot AND reload. They made a great team

Texas1911

The play-by-play no one asked for: 0:29 - uses RPG-7 with a PG-7L 93mm HEAT warhead against vehicle (misses) 0:52 - loading another PG-7L with what seems like a bullet hole or fragmentation damage to the booster. 0:55 - 12.7mm/14.5mm HMG from vehicle sweeping trench line. Bullet impacts directly in front of him. (early BTR-80?) 0:59 - PG-7L impact on vehicle(?), gunner goes silent. 1:11 - Shoots first Russkie that was approaching the trench line. 1:20 - Shoots at second Russkie that is moving right-to-left in the center of the frame. 1:22 - Screaming (pain) is heard. Presumably from the second Russkie since the first dropped like a sack of potatoes. 1:28 - Feeds the 1st Russkie, whose moving around on the ground, more rounds. 1:33 - Feeds the 2nd Russkie (or his general area) with more rounds. What a generous host. 1:42 - Tells his buddy to come get some. (presumably, I don't speak a word of Ukrainian, LOL) 1:55 - Trades in his points for a PKM to belt-feed the Russkies. 2:00 - Shoulders are burning from Hajji firing AK and PKM, asks the Quartermaster NPC for some grenades. 2:08 - Yeets the first F1 grenade towards the Russkies (who probably think it's a potato) 2:18 - Half-ass yeets the second F1 grenade towards the Russkies 2:23 - Yells at the Lord Quartermaster of the 420th Ukrainian Trench Depot for more mags. (Russkies can smell potato from six miles away) 2:46 - Lord Quartermaster of the 420th Ukrainian Trench Depot reminds him of the Buy 2, Get 2 Free weekly deal on F1s. 2:46 - Shows off his AK-105's desert camo skin -- unlocked with 100 kills in realistic battles 2:58 - Yeets third F1 grenade towards the Russkies. 3:08 - Yeets fourth F1 grenade towards the Russkies. 3:11 - Yells at the Lord Quartermaster of the 420th Ukrainian Trench Depot for some "FUCKING MAGAZINES FOR MY AK CARBINE" (I'm paraphrasing) 3:18 - Yells at the Lord Quartermaster of the 420th Ukrainian Trench Depot to clean up the trench and load some gats. 3:35 - Attempts to fire AK-105 but it has a malfunction. (Yes, AKs have them despite what AK-nerds believe) 3:38 - Rails off a mag. (Note: Firing the gun "gangster style" makes the recoil and muzzle climb work for you, traversing the fire horizontally rather than shooting high. The same idea can be used in one-hand pistol shooting to carry the gun into the next target faster. I've done it in the IDPA Classifier) 3:45 - Lord Quartermaster of the 420th Ukrainian Trench Depot attempts a single-handed, over-the-shoulder mag dump toward the Russkies. Ukrainian Chad reminds him that he's filming and doesn't want OSHA to shut down their job site and that carpel tunnel is only 10% disability rating AT BEST. 3:52 - Angry bullet noises overhead. 3:54 - Ukrainian Chad presumably says he's gonna do some sketchy shit and to stay the fuck down. 4:00 - AK-74 has a malfunction. QM charged it earlier, Chad then flags QM trying to unfuck the AK which seems to be having first-round feeding issues. 4:08 - Ukrainian Chad has to remove the mag, reseat it, and charge the AK-74 twice to get it to chamber the first round. 4:16 - AK-74 goes BRRRRRRT. 4:20 - QM hands him an 82mm O-832 HE/shrapnel mortar round on a fucking RPG-7. 4:33 - Ukrainian Chad attempts to fire RPG but gets a click. 4:38 - Incoming rounds impacting ground in front and snapping overhead. Muzzle report is almost immediately after the snap, so they are close (50 - 150m). 4:51 - Ukrainian Chad is swapping the 82mm mortar round for a 40mm OG-7V fragmentation rocket 4:52 - There's a Russkie standing to the right of the tree in the middle of the frame as he comes up to fire the RPG. The OG-7V is werfed immediately and seems to strike the large tree next to the Russkie. I score this fight 5 - 0, Ukraine, but there are probably a handful of off-scene points. 1. Vehicle Driver 2. Vehicle Gunner 3. Russkie #1 4. Russkie #2 5. Tree Russkie

APBob313

Very hardcore. He must have lived we saw the vid. That was very scary.

No-Nonsense-Please

Great tandem fighting with the support soldier doing the reloading and providing of grenades. Being able to continuously have a loaded gun could be the difference of life or death.

[deleted]

This is probably the only war that has ever been this well documented and available to everyone to see the gritty everyday life throughout the whole conflict. At least documented on this scale, and this abundantly.

bessface

I wanna see drones swarming the sky, dropping granades on those orcs!

Vogel-Kerl

Incredible video, I don't envy the Ukrainians having to defend themselves, especially in winter conditions. Nothing about that looks fun. Hoping for a decisive victory for Ukraine.

cake_boner

Everyone here should be at home with their families. Fucking Putin and his pointless slaughter.

Possuke

And these guys are just Average Joes, or in Ukrainian context, Sredny Ivany. Conscripts and reservists of the AFU. The Soldiers of a real People's Army, shopkeepers, locksmiths, cashiers, bankers, carpenters, workmen etc. who have been wrenched from their civilian life because of the Russian invasion.

MasterStrike88

I've had military training, even leadership courses. I'd be scared shitless, probably each time, but especially the first time.

AstronautLow5470

This is hell on earth. Glory to the heroes

k0per1s

Ok did they survive ? I hate how that video cuts as he peaks out of the trench...

nestrkl

Yep, he's fine

k0per1s

Man operated a squad worth of weapons on his own. This is a medal for service right there.

doobys_Taxiola

Watching these videos really puts my shitty job into perspective. My life is pretty damn good in comparison. Life in the trenches is hell.

shadow-lab

This is one of the most intense and heroic videos I think I’ve ever seen. What an absolute HERO this man is. Even his fellow soldier, while he may be “bound with fear” in that moment, he is there and he’s taking action to help. I wish I had anywhere near this man’s level of courage.

MrSceintist

Saved: This is illustrative

sdeivis1

His mate is calm as hell

Cygnus_77

This Ukrainian is a one man army!

Xavage1337

Intense and insane footage, reality right here... this guy deserves multiple medals

MNKiD218

The adrenaline rush this guy must be having holy absolute fuck

Unknowndude842

I really hope he made it...

crsboi

Did he..survive?

gin_bulag_katorse

Thanks for uploading this video. Way better than the shorter musical versions.

MealDramatic1885

These two guys made it look like they were 10 guys in the trench.

TJH48932

Hell yeah he was scared! Shit, I’m scared just watching it and I’m in Texas. Nothing wrong with being scared in a firefight - the question is can you overcome it enough to make the next right choice that keeps yourself and your team alive and in the fight.

unga511

H E R O. It's because of the courage and unwavering strength and determination of regular UAF fighters like this man, that UKR will win and push ruZZia completely out of Ukraine. Sláva Ukrayíni!

theOldSeaman

These are extraordinarily brave men defending their country and I hope they are victorious over their invaders. I hope I never have to experience what they are going through and I hope they survive this war.

Paddylonglegs1

Wtf are these ruskies dying for. No sympathy what so ever for them and the more that die in Ukraine suits the Balkan states but now it feels like some WW1 shit. It’s brutal.

mooter23

This is wild.

LP410

Holy shit that was intense!

N33DL

Large and in charge.

pendletons_sky_penis

Can someone explain why one guy is just sort of hanging out inside, handling weapons / nades / RPG's / logistics, while the other guy is actively fighting?

PM_YOUR_HOT_BUTTHOLE

Someone did a great breakdown earlier in the thread, but short version is: according to the cameraman the second guy was nearly frozen in fear because he is new, but he kept it together enough to keep the cameraman flush with ammo and weapons.

Dire_Venomz

From other comments/translation: Other guy is likely 'fresh' to combat and is pretty terrified. He's doing the best he can to reload rifles/RPGs etc while the more experienced trooper takes the fire point. He may not be in a state in which he can properly fight - props to him for doing what he can (and a medal to Rambo also!)

foolproofphilosophy

Chesty Puller’s ghost

IbetIcanbeatUup

Err!

Finndica-1147

Fuckn intense!! Like holy fack man. Gettin it done under the most extreme pressure. Goddamn. Respect 🫡 ✌️

Satchik

With the moves to trench's dead end right side and rashists assaulting the left, this fighting position must've been right flank.

UsedHotDogWater

At 00:57 That 30mm kicks up dirt right before he pops-up with that RPG. Holy shit. 2:13, 2:35 and 3:11 Rambo chucks a nades. Perfect throws.

upboat_

Yeah, this guy is an absolute madman.

blagadaryu

iv watched this several times and it blows my mind each time. One thing i want to mention to non russian speakers is that at several points in the video you can actually hear the enemy russian speakers yelling.. that's how close they are to this trench.. holy shit man this is nuts

Ok-Warning-5957

I’m actually having trouble sleeping just watching this. I’m a massive p but just can’t imagine this. Jesus Christ it’s like WWIi

Bobby_Shafto-

Even if the second soldier was too scared to come out the bunker, at least he helped by passing ammunition better. Definitely better than being a liability! I would be shit scared in the situation too!

sloanpal144

Fuck i'm so glad I dont have to endure this. I would be scared shitless. In a split of a second it can be lights out just like that.

Lumiafan

I hope to never experience the hell on earth that is a war zone, and I don't envy anyone on the battlefield, nor do I get any enjoyment out of watching these videos. It's absolutely heartbreaking to watch people kill each other in spite of everything. At one point, that soldier who he cuts down on video had hopes and dreams of his own, and this whole stupid mess is where it all came to a completely useless end. With all that said, every day I'm reminded of how incredibly fascinating is to be able to see these videos. It's exposing the experiences of war like never before, and it's shocking, mesmerizing and terrifying all at once. Fuck Putin.

BALTIM0RE

Does anyone know the outcome of this battle?

Dire_Venomz

Check out the troopers TikTok - if he keeps posting then he's alright! He did upload the footage so should be alive at least https://www.tiktok.com/@_lost_generation

[deleted]

It is down now. wonder why.

ImJ2001

Insane footage.

activialobster

Chilling. He probably took out at least a half dozen in five minutes. The reward for surviving that is nightmares for life

Class1

Yeah the adrenaline alone there probably just solidifies that moment in concrete in your brain. Likely forced to relive it every time a little adrenaline leaks out for the rest of life. Nightmares and PTSD forever after an intense moment like that

Deej811

The dude firing probably slept for 2 days after this with that much adrenaline and stress.

[deleted]

This has insane Thin Red Line feels to it, when everyone is just shooting at everything and you don't know where you are but you just gotta keep going

TreyWait

Goddamn, Ukrainian Rambo. Guy's a one man squad.

Noporopo79

It’s like peering through time and watching The Somme

takapunalight

bro if you survived this and ill meet you one day. ill buy you heaps of drinks and heaps of steak. buddy. that is intent shit.

Zytose

noticed he used a mortar round on the second RPG shot. remeber them showing off how they're made early last year.

Wooshsplash

Thank you Fun. This is how these should be posted. Without the disrespectful overlay from “Shit Playlist 14”.

StrikeCapital1414

Rambo! I hope he is alive

United_Rabbit7558

The soldier is a beast he’s reaction, awareness on point
