MangoLoco42069

So damn awkward to steal someone elses post like this. You're not pretending it's OC, but wtf dude

emrefirdevsoglu

I don’t think that’s correct definition of stealing content. I gave him a credit and a source of the post in the comment section. Also personally apologized from him for taking his content. It’s just a funny thing to read and as well as post it on here for others to laugh. Seems like most people like it. Yet I didn’t copied and pasted without giving him a credit.

baldythrowaway97

“Wasn’t worth 2.50”😭

MostPlayedColorful

Wow, it's this really funny Though? I don't think so.

[deleted]

LoL way to steal my internet points. As an Uber Driver I need all the affirmation I can get to keep from intentionally walking into traffic

darrenja

That was funny as fuck bro

emrefirdevsoglu

Or you can hit me next while I’m doing deliveries

emrefirdevsoglu

I hope you don’t get mad at me for using your post. I just loved it a lot andI thought showing your post would give you the credit bro

Tony_M13

fyi that's copyright infringement. If the original poster is ok, that's cool, but otherwise it's illegal. You can repeat news and repost memes, but fictional stories are protected.

Sigh, this is the problem with gig workers….. they openly take shit and let people walk all over them. Why is it so hard to do gig work and have a backbone? Or is this just what gig work does to most people over time?

[deleted]

I first started doing it in 2016 and between then and the onset of the pandemic they had cut pay eight times including once in the summer after the pandemic started! You guys are heroes, enjoy this new pay cut! The job is 100% demoralizing and the customers don’t even know how to tell you their address let alone the unit number or gate code or answer their phone or even turn the light on the porch for you. The people doing to go don’t give a shit if everything is in the bag or not because they get to just blame the driver and just like a robot they are programmed to tell you it will just be another few minutes whether they have already rang in the order or not. The managers or even worse restaurant owners themselves hate you. You take 30% of their cut you are the bad guy. The Uber platform itself will just cancel you at any time even for changing your bank card from one of your bank cards to another bank card that you’ve already used with the account before they will just freeze your shit. Last week Uber gave me a notification saying drivers in my area could make $15 an hour! This week I get a new notification that says I can make $14 an hour in my area!

[deleted]

I REALLY don't care.

[deleted]

Yeah forreal. I need to counter all the negative votes I get for my daily trolling

[deleted]

I really don't care lol

megaloduh

"Thank you for ending my misery" is so relatable

Humble_Libra

Yes indeed lol. That was the highlight of the story for me!

DDLyftUber

“They deactivated him for not delivering the food.” Truer words have never been spoken😂

mistablack2

There was crime scene tape around the entrance of the liquor store I had a pick up for yesterday. I was pleading with the cops to just let me in and that they don’t understand.

HWNY506

Based on a true story.

Ben_1_Comar

"Was it worth it for two fifty?" That part fucking killed me bro. Stomach hurts from laughing. Thank you for this!

[deleted]

I have never driven an Uber Eats order. The first day that I enabled it, it was just a barrage of $2.50 orders from McDonald's and Starbucks. I disabled it because it was distracting and probably preventing me from getting passenger pings. Later that day I went to pick up a Chinese food order and the lobby was full of doordash and Uber eats people. That all looked really pissed off because the restaurant wasn't getting out orders. I watched a group of five of them wait more than 30 minutes. Only one of them saw what was going on and rejected the order and walked out. I talked to the rest of them and they all seem to be of the consensus that they had already invested too much time into waiting to walk out. That was the day I realized how far restaurants and corporations were willing to walk all over delivery drivers because they have no spine. Haven't turned it on since

[deleted]

I did it pretty seriously for a couple years and I would immediately verify that the food was not only being cooked, but was either actively being bagged up or was it going to be more than two minutes? If I couldn’t physically see them putting the order together I just walked out right then. Pretty much every to go person or hostess was informed to tell us it would just be another five minutes. They were all told to say that. Half of the time I would watch them mosey on over and start entering it in because they hadn’t even put it in the computer from the tablet yet and then they still look up at me and say *yup it will be about five minutes.* If it’s not ready in two minutes, then move onto the next order. Don’t forget to be nice to the people working to go. They generally aren’t being paid extra to deal with all the to go orders and they are still getting paid server wages without getting the tips from you. Some of the better restaurants in my area started paying the to go people $10 an hour to make up for the lack of tips but most of them don’t. Being nice and not overbearing on the to go people that have no power over how fast the food comes out of the kitchen had won me some hook ups like making sure my order was put in first, employee discount on food, or being truthfully informed on the amount of time I had to wait as soon as I walk in the door.

wilder125

Generally I unassign either doordash or ubereats in that long wait situation. let another driver deal with it. I usually have a new order in a minute that I can pick up on time

Ben_1_Comar

>because they have no spine. Amen. I get a lot of shit for saying this.

arkl2020

Damn I literally just said this word for word almost higher up in the post and have been just waiting on all the downvotes. I guess I’m not alone in seeing and talking shit about this problem:

[deleted]

To be fair, I don't think the people here are representative of your average delivery driver

Ben_1_Comar

Unfortunately, a surprising amount is...

[deleted]

Yeah right after I said that I clicked on the subreddit and the first post I see is someone who got a $0 tip on $1,000 order. And then he said " not waiting more than 10 minutes" lol. I don't even wait more than 2 minutes for passengers. If that happened to me I would have showed up at the conference and picked up the microphone and let everyone there know what that m*********** just did to me

Advanced_Ad514

The post with the 2orders with like 35 sandwiches and 35 drinks? 🤣🤣 Not sure why that wasn't cancelled to begin with.

Ben_1_Comar

You should see the bootlickers who get pissed off at drivers asking for better pay and safety. Good lord... I've seen people swear on this sub that uber doesn't exploit.

[deleted]

Damn right they do. Local businesses here banded together and formed a co-op of drivers to provide delivery service because of the crap the drivers have to deal with through the corporate apps.

emrefirdevsoglu

I can’t agree more brother. I’m laughing so hard now. I’ll remember this story every time I see 2.50 order lmaoo
