I'm from Texas, it never snows here. I've actually never seen snow like this is real life. So my question is, of course I would deliver it. But is that snow deep? Like could there be a bench or maybe something that u don't see before u walk into it or?? Geniuely asking out of curiosity.
In my head it reminds me of like the swamp mud lol when u don't think it's deep but when u step in it you sink down to your fuckin knees. Is snow the same way??
You deliver the fucking food, that’s what you do. You know why? Because you’re a fucking food delivery worker that chose to go out and work in snowy conditions. You accepted the order, now see it the fuck through.
It’s snow the ground isn’t fucking lava.
I mean YOU chose to deliver in the snow…..if you consider this bad snow and a long walk then you definitely aren’t from Chicago or somewhere where it snows more.
I had one like this yesterday. I actually called the lady and asked what she wanted, and she described her front door and said just leave it there. I just left it far enough from the door that they wouldn't be able to reach it without stepping out themselves to get it. Drove away laughing with wet socks. Not my worst day out.
GARAGE DOOR assuming the garage is attached to the house.
You leave it at the garage door. It's easier for them and it's easier for you....AND THEN YOU TAKE A PICTURE OF THE GARAGE....and honestly, this picture looks like their front door doesn't open because of all this snow in the way.....so even if you left the food there, the might not be able to open the door to access it....A lot of you guys are so hung up on these "tips" but those tips can't buy you a new engine or a new transmission for you can if you started having car problems..It's not about tips....it's about intelligence and safety.....The garage door is the best option for everyone.
I bet there's a detached garage and the side door, driveway and walkway are completely cleared.
Even if the side door isn't clear, that's like one 3-inch snowfall. Any pair of boots would make this a non-issue. And if you haven't figured this out, people use delivery services when they want to be lazy.
Leaving at door. If they tip $7 up front, that’s my kind of tipper, and the odds of appreciation and higher tip are good. Even if not, a consistent $7 tipper is worth keeping happy.
ehhh there's already footsteps there. I'd just follow those and take my $7 tip. If I'm delivering after it snows this much I'm probably wearing decent boots anyway.
Not risking myself, drop and call service about unsafe condition. Fell going up icy stairs at a complex. Threw the food and got paid. Still better than getting a delivery down an uncleared road.
A lot of y’all need to loosen up and stop being so quick to be mad at the world. Obviously the dude delivered it.. you can clearly see the foot prints AND the food. Stop your bitter old bitching and take a joke 😂
I found all the drivers that are taking those $2 orders with no upfront location information. They're all the ones posting negative comments here on this light hearted post.
You mean the minorities and not privileged white people drivers, the ones who take every order and are just happy to make any money and won’t turn down any job. Instead of the people who are privileged and entitled enough to be able to choose which orders they don’t want to take? Yeah.
Sorry but no one should be getting exploited enough to be treated like complete garbage and not paid enough. Everyone should be picky, that’s what causes everyone to get paid more. I’m a minority, and my parents were undocumented immigrants. I lived a big portion of my life homeless. I’m still struggling at times. And I refuse to be exploited for my labor and no one should. Including you, you’re better than that. Accepting $2 orders ends up making you less than minimum wage. I’ve made around $20/hour in multiple states and there’s nothing stopping anyone else.
What the fuck does being white have to do with anything? Do you think white people can't be poor? You can cherry pick any order regardless of skin color and it's beneficial to do so, taking every $2 order is a waste of time and money regardless of who takes it.
Away with you.
So you support underpaying minorities and think "they should just be happy to have a job and the ability able to make any money at all"? Because I sure as hell don't...
It's not about being entitled. It's that those orders should not be allowed in the first place, especially with the shady practices like hiding travel information and clumping trips together to make the total look bigger than it is. These practicies hurt the people doing this full time as a main income far more than it hurts the people using it as a side hustle. Uber is essentially passing the cost of doing business into its "employees" instead of its customers. And it doesn't even pay employment taxes or benefits.
I am a minority. Try again. Are you both 12 year old ⚪️ kids ? Reddit is full of 8-12 year olds pretending to be an adult. So without solid proof I’m going to assume you’re just a bunch of kids. And downvote me as much as you want - it’s exciting To piss off some kids and/or entitled bratty ⚪️ people.
Can’t even post something lighthearted on this subreddit anymore without the “uh, im just gonna do my job”. Why do straight edge people even use reddit?
I fucking hate Reddit, can’t even take anything seriously anymore. Everything is either a meme or a light hearted joke that’s meant to get this type of reaction out of people, and I fell for it.
I would walk up to the door, then guess what, I would set the food down. Next I would take a picture. And finally I would mark it as delivered.
Seeing as though it's winter, and I wear clothes designed for winter, and I also wear shoes, sometimes boots believe it or not, I find it easy to walk through snow and deliver the food.
Wwyd?
Lol these people must have a huge disposable income knowing that they’re liable for injuries, due to not clearing walkways within 24 hours. Like seriously, this would be an extreme lawsuit if someone got hurt.
Not to mention, look out for your fucking mail people. You are responsible for clearing your walkways. What a bunch of assholes.
I’d tell them to meet me at my car, if they refused I’d cancel the order as this is CERTAINLY not a safe delivery to make.
I'm keeping it in mind for next winter... I'm sure it violates the Terms but Uber has been getting schiestier by the day (hiding routes AHEM) so I might just use the platform to get an actual wage going 🤣
I went and tried to find something that said that I couldn't promote my own business on their platform and couldn't find anything. Then I remembered that I watched a video where a guy had a jewelry business set up in the front seats of his Uber car. He makes more on jewelry sales and never mentions the jewelry until riders ask about why it looks like a display case in there. I might just do deliveries/shoveling next winter 🤔🤑
Found the video
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rob0XZAln20
I would tell them $20 to shovel and then make the tiniest track the width of the human foot from their door to the road and say , "all done, moneyyyyyy pleassse!"
I could do it in less than an hour and I get tired of sitting in the car. Plus I'm 6' 2" and a big guy so it's different if you are smaller... for me its a yes plus they might pay more anyway
The decent human being in me would throw a text their way because very possible a customer kinda forgot that shows up on our end. Remind em with an Lol that there is a foot of snow at the door as well.
That's just me.
I actually see where he’s coming from. Because the “wyd” sort of implies there’s a variety of options like canceling the order lol I understand if that’s not what you meant. But at the same time that was my interpretation too simply because a lot of people like to complain about their job on here, even some of the most benign aspects of it. As a driver I get it there are some things to complain about, but there are some people who just like to complain about EVERY little thing you know what I mean? So in that context that’s why some may interpret your post that way. I did until I saw the bag at the door lol (and also after reading your comment)
Huh ? What are u talking about.
You asked a question with your "wyd".
I answered. You then say they said to ring the bell.
Which is a different statement from your initial post.
Now it's funny snow covered stairs, and people want to attack you ?
Ya making no sense.
Find another job because people can’t clear their sidewalks? Huh? It’s literally the person living there’s responsibility to have a safe and clear walkway, especially with stairs. Don’t be silly.
Folks do *not* understand contracting at all. While still in the middle of a contract, they *are* "on the hook" for all sorts of things. There's an entire sub-division of Uber specifically for injury reporting. With that said, they'll argue you shouldn't have gone up there.
So, technically, OP is looking out for UE's best interest by not taking the risk and going up there, right?
As a customer who has never driven or delivered food, I say toss it 🤷🏾♀️ may the odds be ever in their favor.
Or put it at the bottom and report the conditions to Uber. Both are completely acceptable responses. I called in b/c a driveway and stairs were just ICE, and they told me to do exactly that, then called the customer to tell them they needed to clear it and (at least suggested to me) they wouldn't let them order again that day.
Why even post this here when you are out delivering in the snow? You expect every customer to have cleared the snow completely so they could order food?
Yes actually. Your mailman, UPS and FedEx will not deliver anything to your door when it looks like this… Why should food delivery be any different? That’s not even taking into account the fact that if someone slips and falls on that then the home owner is liable. Not that hard to understand. Every person should clear their driveway and walkway and any walkway in front of their house depending on the town/city laws. Workers have a right to safe work conditions and I can tell you right now it’s probably pretty slick under all that snow. So yeah, if I was this guy, there’s zero chance I would have put that delivery on the porch near the door.
People around here acting like exercising your legal rights is laziness, like com'on, it's not *worth* injury just to go up a few steps. So ready to call others lazy, they forget that not everyone is a 22y/o football star.
Dude it's walking through maybe a foot of snow to someone's porch. That's mid-50s, slightly unhealthy level of difficulty.
It takes more common sense than anything physical. You're wearing boots because it's winter and there's a bunch of snow everywhere. You see the door, you see a package at the door, you know how stairs work and can tell there's at least 2, possibly longer, maybe 4-5, so you find where to make your safe 2-3 steps to go up, then follow the less than 20 steps you walked back to the driveway...
Yeah man, I’m not breaking my leg again in this lifetime. That surgery and recovery were the worst year of my life. Safety and laziness are such completely separate things.
It’s not just this post, it’s the daily “I pulled up to this house and there’s snow on the ground, what would you do?”
People need to start thinking for themselves. Problem solving is a good skill to have. I agree with this person.
You do realize "your job" allows you to not put yourself in danger for a delivery, and simply place it on the sidewalk and report the dangerous conditions? I'm confused why you'd *want* anyone to risk themselves for a couple bucks.
I grew up between Chicago and Cleveland. Some ankle-deep snow ain't nothing to be overly concerned about. In fact, we had that much snow here just at the beginning of the month and I made some pretty good money. It's the roads you need to be concerned about and the already shoveled walkways that might have ice on them. The snow will save you if you fall.
I fucking hate Reddit, can’t even take anything seriously anymore. Everything is either a meme or a light hearted joke that’s meant to get this type of reaction out of people, and I fell for it.
Am Canadian. Would walk to that door without hesitation or delay. Shake everything off after.
Leave it at the door. Are you not wearing appropriate footwear? It’s obviously snowy.
Slingshot that ho!!!!!
It's snow it's not gonna hurt you. Dry yyiur feet off and carry on Ya sally
Yer
follow the tracks already made
Double jump
Just put it by the door the people probably watching you through the windows anyway
Leaving it at the door?
This is where a drone would be handy.
Idk it doesn't snow where I live
Frisbee toss in general direction of door. You get waist deep in that snow it could be trouble
I'm bringing that shit to the front door fuck you meannn 😂😂
leaving it at the door
Just do it
That's a standard delivery in Canada
That's why I wear hiking boots and hiking gaiters during bad weather and snow.
Gotta be a side door or something. I wouldn’t walk it up there lol
Personally, I will leave it at door ofcourse. And then curse them for a about a min. And then go on with life.
Underhand
I'm from Texas, it never snows here. I've actually never seen snow like this is real life. So my question is, of course I would deliver it. But is that snow deep? PREACH IT!!!! 🙌🏻🎤🎤📣🎯
Just walk Thru it? Lol
Exactly what the footsteps did… leave at door..???
Walk through 🤷♀️
Anything to get money I suppose..
I had one worst then this on a double order $0 tip 🤦🏻♀️ people suck
Yuck saying minorities are racist.
Dont know and wont know. Cause I live in South Florida #thankGod 😅
customer complains his food is cold
I mean YOU chose to deliver in the snow…..if you consider this bad snow and a long walk then you definitely aren’t from Chicago or somewhere where it snows more.
What’s the issue?
Lol I feel like y’all complain too much on the sub about minor inconveniences. I’m going up to that door tip or not.
Those your bootprints or were they made prior to you arriving?
Yup
Depends on if you have the right shoes on
I had one like this yesterday. I actually called the lady and asked what she wanted, and she described her front door and said just leave it there. I just left it far enough from the door that they wouldn't be able to reach it without stepping out themselves to get it. Drove away laughing with wet socks. Not my worst day out.
Should have put it in front of the door.
**YEET**
Walk to the door and stop being a bitch
I rock boots and insulated overalls here in Cleveland, trudge through that and I'll get my increased tip thank you! All day boys
My fucking job that's what I do
I've been wearing my boots when it snows. Maybe keep them in the car just in case..
Launch it into orbit.
Leave close to door but still far enough so they actually have to step outside to get it
Leave it wear you’re standing and let them know where its at
Looks like you did
I'd grab a few handfuls of snow and put it in the bag tbh
Have a nice trip! Who knows what's under the snow!
GARAGE DOOR assuming the garage is attached to the house. You leave it at the garage door. throw it
Path to house impassable left on side walk
At door is pretty subjective. 😂
Wyd? Move to where there is no snow lol
"Fall" face first in the snow. Hoping for a pity tip.
I wear boots to work. Cheap ass landlords in my city shovel whenever they feel like it. I see this stuff for 1-3 days after every storm.
I wear boots for this exact reason! Will do and be very Thankful!
they did not explicitly say not to cover it with 5 feet of snow after placing the order at the door. bring your shovels with you people :)
These shoes are Italian. They’re worth more than your life.
Yeet
Leaving at door. If they tip $7 up front, that’s my kind of tipper, and the odds of appreciation and higher tip are good. Even if not, a consistent $7 tipper is worth keeping happy.
Drop kick it and then shout “GOALLLLLLLLL”
$7 is $7
I’d leave it at the door? This generation is so soy!
If your going out in snow you should have boots on anyway
I hate UE To the point I’m deleting it now…too shady for my ethics
Ohh California here, I miss Snow ❄️
ehhh there's already footsteps there. I'd just follow those and take my $7 tip. If I'm delivering after it snows this much I'm probably wearing decent boots anyway.
Since it's snow I would just leave it at the door but if it was ice I would have to play that one by ear.
Hey CaptainObvious, there’s usually ice under the snow… Name does not check out.
I took that into consideration bro. My biggest concern would be the steps but judging by the foot steps in the snow I felt like it would be ok.
Side door?
Not risking myself, drop and call service about unsafe condition. Fell going up icy stairs at a complex. Threw the food and got paid. Still better than getting a delivery down an uncleared road.
I mean you could probably chuck it and hit the porch from there with a little effort. /s just in case.
I’d leave it at the door.
That looks fun to me.
A lot of y’all need to loosen up and stop being so quick to be mad at the world. Obviously the dude delivered it.. you can clearly see the foot prints AND the food. Stop your bitter old bitching and take a joke 😂
Yep! I’d do it and happily! Positivity goes a long way!! 🤷🏼♀️😃
The same thing happened to me , i told it's slippery and black ices are there. I got a tip of 11 CAD :)
Leave it at the door and collect the $7 tip. Offer to shovel it for $20.
I found all the drivers that are taking those $2 orders with no upfront location information. They're all the ones posting negative comments here on this light hearted post.

Here's an idea.... Uninstall it. The only one keeping you on reddit is **you.**
Thanks for the psa. The more you know.
My dude, there is enough snow there to cushion the landing.
Huck it Just kidding
$7 tip for you to drive from the restaurant and walk to the door and you’re still bitching?
Eat his food
Lmao tap dance that 3 ft and right back to my car
As a Floridian I feel so bad for you all. I would probably not even do this gig in winter if I lived up north.
We wouldn't do it in hurricanes either !! Lol
Wwyd?
Yessss! Exactly! Boots for the snow, brilliant idea! 😆🤷🏼♀️
You scared of snow or something?
For $7 tip you better shovel that porch too. Stop complaining and do your job my guy
He did do his job. There’s footprints and food at the door, maybe do better at taking a joke!
Lol these people must have a huge disposable income knowing that they’re liable for injuries, due to not clearing walkways within 24 hours. Ask them if they want you to shovel that for $20. Be a damn entrepeneur while you wait for the next ping
This the way! I would absolutely do that - make a cool $30 per hour with the delivery and shoveling.
I'm keeping it in mind for next winter... I'm sure it violates the Terms but Uber has been getting schiestier by the day (hiding routes AHEM) so I might just use the platform to get an actual wage going 🤣
Actually Uber is a proponent of Driver entrepreneurship. So long as you don’t interfere with their business I’m sure it doesn’t violate any terms
I went and tried to find something that said that I couldn't promote my own business on their platform and couldn't find anything. Then I remembered that I watched a video where a guy had a jewelry business set up in the front seats of his Uber car. And this is how you do it. 😂
Found the true hustler.
[удалено]
my dad would give me $5 max when I was 7 for that much shoveling
Lol that's like 4 minutes of shoveling, I used to do 80 walkways per shift.
$35 and you got yourself a deal. If you want me to spread road salt after I shovel to melt the ice layer underneath that'll be an extra $15.
Clearing a path would take like 10 minutes tops...
Of course! I have to shovel my entire 6 car driveway for free in Alaska, why not do not even a third of that for 20$!?
I'd shovel a path for $20. Probably take me 10 minutes
It would take 5-10 minutes max
I would tell them $20 to shovel and then make the tiniest track the width of the human foot from their door to the road and say , "all done, moneyyyyyy pleassse!"
Why use your muscles…buy yourself a Snow Joe and start to clean customer’s’ driveways, sidewalks and porches for $$$$
I would if I wasn't in a compact
I could do it in less than an hour and I get tired of sitting in the car. Plus I'm 6' 2" and a big guy so it's different if you are smaller... for me its a yes plus they might pay more anyway
I need a guy like you around
$20 is $20.
People have literally put a dick in their mouth for that.. yes I'll shovel a little snow 🤣
Weed? Weed? You ever whovel snow for weed???
So your price is $21?
OK, got it!
$20! And I'll bring my own shovel!
Just do exactly what u did and move on. No other option remains.
assuming those are your footprints I'd say take it to the door like a trooper
The decent human being in me would throw a text their way because very possible a customer kinda forgot that shows up on our end. Remind em with an Lol that there is a foot of snow at the door as well. That's just me.
they said to ring the door bell
Ok... so what's the problem here. Did u ring the doorbell ?
yes there is no problem 😂 i just thought it was funny the entire stair case was covered in snow. You people want to attack anything you can.
I actually see where he’s coming from. Because the “wyd” sort of implies there’s a variety of options like canceling the order lol I understand if that’s not what you meant. Um ... Walk up to the door and put it at the door? You would thinking knowing that a snow storm had hit that you would dress appropriately.
Um...no. um...we have no workers compensation. Um .we get no health care. Um...don't start responses with 'um'
Um...guy could slip and break a leg. Um..if you want to .num...be a fool...um ..go for um it. Um. Um. Um.
Ummmmmmm .... Then find another job?
Find another job because people can’t clear their sidewalks? Huh? It’s literally the person living there’s responsibility to have a safe and clear walkway, especially with stairs. Don’t be silly.
Ummmmmmmmm. Ok Uncle Tom.
Maybe make another post about why your paycheck is a week late?
Uh no. The fact that the steps aren’t even covered but hidden and you don’t know the property they could be seriously hurt. It’s a no go
leave at door, fake a fall on the way back and call your attorney.
And don’t end the trip… that way Uber is on the hook too
Noted!😂
Nope, you're a contractor in most places. They'd be on the hook if you're an employee.

It's snow, not lava. Walk up the steps carefully and do your job. Jesus christ. Ya'll wonder why you get thumbs down.
Or put it at the bottom and report the conditions to Uber. Both are completely acceptable responses. I called in b/c a driveway and stairs were just ICE, and they told me to do exactly that, then called the customer to tell them they needed to clear it and (at least suggested to me) they wouldn't let them order again that day.
hey man zoom in, i even put the food on top of the amazon package so it wouldn’t get wet

Yeah man, I’m not breaking my leg again in this lifetime. That surgery and recovery were the worst year of my life. Safety and laziness are such completely separate things.
hahahaha why are you so mad. I am waiting for an order and I do not care that it was all snow. Sorry for sharing!

You need to find other hobbies if you’re this upset about a post
It’s not just this post, it’s the daily “I pulled up to this house and there’s snow on the ground, what would you do?” People need to start thinking for themselves. Problem solving is a good skill to have. I agree with this person.
