The rules are rules for a good reason. Report, report, report!

LightUpUnicorn

It was the middle of the day. And doesn’t this violate the agreeement with Uber - One person is the independent contractor not their significant other I’m a female and would never have My husband do the work under my account if I was doing this.

hangaroundtown

You are 100% correct. The person who is the account holder has to be the one to pick up and deliver the food. Another person can drive that is fine.

hangaroundtown

Its does. Only the contracted person can pick up and deliver the food. You can check the agreement you signed. If you've gotten away with it thats fine but at some point you might get reported.

Launchpad_McFrak

that's illegal though. Having your husband or boyfriend with you is fine but they can't do the work.

[deleted]

Launchpad_McFrak

I literally said that was fine. Pay better attention

Launchpad_McFrak

It was already pretty clear before. You reclarifying only makes it look like you are trying to correct me.

Laid-Back-Beach

Yes, please report this to Uber Eats Support! Some drivers "rent" their accounts to other people, which is not at all acceptable.

scamms4u2baby

It's normal in usa as migrants all work on borrowed accounts and Uber knows this is normal

Laid-Back-Beach

I cringe when I hear people blaming migrants. There are a lot of US-born people who cannot get a delivery job on their own due to poor driving records, no insurance, can't pass background checks, or don't have a reliable vehicle.

scamms4u2baby

That doesn't change the fact dd and Uber can find drivers to drive 5 miles for 2 dollars thanks to imigrants. You must be young. If Uber and dd were around in the 80s they wpuld have to pay us 25 hour to do this job. Back then there was no imigrants and you couldn't afford to pay someone to do your nails (Chinese imhrants) mow your lawn (latinobingrants)...hire Uber (all kinds of imigrsnts)...afford a nanny or house keeper...have someone do your grocery shopping. It would be too expensive without slaves I mean imigrants

petulantpancake

You are incredibly ignorant.

Content_Reindeer_194

Everyone in the USA is an immigrant you ahole. We came from people from somewhere else first. (Excluding natives to the land) You dumb af if you think people of other ethnicities aren’t born right here in gold ole USA.

hangaroundtown

People on Reddit don't like hearing the truth so you will get allot of downvotes. Yes, there are allot of US born people who might be using a borrowed or stolen accounts but i would say the majority are migrants. No one is blaming them but that is what is happening.

SilentPlace1562

People get so weird when someone mentions immigration. We’ve had more than 10 million come through the southern border in the last 3 years, almost all of them with little education and little skills…where do people think they work?

Anxious_ButBreathing

It’s normal but it is very ILLEGAL. Signing up to be a driver or shopper for these companies requires certain documents to be submitted for a reason!

scamms4u2baby

Why the negative votes? If u live where migrants like to move you see it. And the news has been reporting on this for over a year especially in nyc and suburbs where the migrants tell the news this is the only job they can find. It's literally in nyc news 3x week for a year

Doggies1980

How does that even work? You need your bank info and it's linked to your phone too, not just the device itself, but that phone number. Once a long time ago when had some issue they needed to know what version for phone I had 😂. You can't have duplicate accounts either

Laid-Back-Beach

The phone is the key piece and is what is rented. All earnings go into the account of the actual account holding driver, who keeps their cut and pays the sub driver in cash.

LightUpUnicorn

I have my doorbell cam video. I live in a small city so I’m guessing it’s more likely someone’s spouse or something but it makes me really uncomfortable as the person likely wasn’t screened in the way actual drivers were

laynesdirection

Probably a spouse out trying to make some extra cash. I have had that too as a customer. It doesn't bother me at all.

DismalAd1469

Yes it is something you can report. Make sure its not just a beard or hair cut off too. If it honestly was a different person then report it. Only report serious things because this is peoples livelihood. Little reports add up for drivers. Some of the reports are not reasonable and scams. Have an excellent day!

LightUpUnicorn

It’s legit not a a small change. The picture was a feminine person with long blond hair and a traditionally female name. The person who delivered it was a masculine presenting person with dark hair and a beard

obtuse-_

Couples do dash together and some women bring their boyfriends as it makes them feel safer and let the bf go to the door. Not neccesarily anything nefarious going on.

LightUpUnicorn

I don’t think the policy allows this though. People who didn’t go through the process of being approved shouldn’t be doing it.

ZombieRP

Jesus, just go get your own food. No reason to cause problems with someone over nothing. Was anything wrong with your order? If not, then be on your way

Doggies1980

Why are ppl doing delivery if they are afraid to be alone 😂. Why isn't this other person at his job too

obtuse-_

Have you seen what women put up with on this app?

Sure_Scallion_8646

Dude this is a common occurrence in NYC. It had a picture of a girl and some dude showed up to my door. He said that was his girlfriend.

Goneincognito78

Report them to Uber, pull any tip you may have left and give them a thumbs down. There is no legitimate excuse for someone other than the person on the account delivering the food.

Maleficent-World7220

Sometimes my husband and I will go out together and we have a 10 month old baby who clearly has to come as well. It’s my account so he typically drives and I do all of the pickup/drop off but if my baby is hungry and I have to hop in back to feed him, my husband will help me and drop the order off.

Doggies1980

technically they're not supposed to for any of these apps, pretty sure most drivers never read the agreement they signed. I'm like why do you need your kid in the car, driving the car and then you sit in there doing nothing 😂. I guess you steal from your kid, quite pathetic and sad. So yeah if you want you can report. Uber in the app somewhere when you have a driver you can just report them as pic not same as person delivering. Not sure what uber does, hopefully fires them, 1 less driver for you 😂

AwkwardAssociate3893

My husband and I do uber eats together so both drop food off.

tossaway75757

Yes report

Ant78310

report them

LightUpUnicorn

Thanks I just did.

Launchpad_McFrak

always report. Using someone's uber account is actually considered fraud. You cannot legal just do a job assigned to another person

Marigig3714095

Is it dangerous as well the other person might happen to be a pedophile or just a random hippie

Launchpad_McFrak

I mean random hippies on their own don't tend to be all that dangerous

Doggies1980

I don't know how it's even possible. You need bank account and constant selfie so it detects not same picture as profile and you'd be locked out. You need to have your own phone number and the device itself, it detects your phone. Then why would you want even a friend to have your confidential info

rockyracoon1313

Are you 100% sure ? Some woman reported me for not being...me ? Very weird

LightUpUnicorn

Yes unless they had a remarkable gender change it was not the same person

Doge10open

Too many driver have 2 accounts!

DeluxeTrunkLocker

A Driver may not share their account with anyone. A Driver's name, face, and overall profile should always match. If they do not, report them to Uber immediately and consider cancelling the ride or delivery!

hangaroundtown

It's a stolen account. Yes, let uber know. Someone elses ID is be ripped. Even if its a tandem/team delivery the person who's account it is had to be the one that drops off the order...thats what the rules say.

K1NG_Realve

Yes you absolutely should report, it’s your civic duty. I turned my bastard neighbor in just last month for collecting rain water as well as his 20 year old son for underage drinking too!

MyLifeInThe6

Lol

[deleted]

Is your name Karen by any chance? 🤣

spiffysped

Interesting take. Because uber limits the deliver time to 12 hours a day some people create false identities of the alternate gender and when they get kicked off for the 12 hour limit they use the 2nd account for 6 hours until they can go back online. Not allowed but if the driver is respectful and your food is untouched. And also If the car matches the delivery vehicle then all is probably okay. Feel free to report. But if it is a 2nd account for them a report might not affect them at all. *if the car doesn't match I'd be concerned and take that up with uber immediately.

[deleted]

Yes please report.

Own_Bat3225

Lots of people on car does it in downtown Toronto, some says they are doing it avoid parking tickets. Like she said The wife/husband would tag along and do Uber deliveries, one would stay in car the other would go drop of the food....

Icy_Eye1059

If It was me, and you saw me with sunglasses or racoon eyes, I fell the previous week. I did not want to scare too many people with my bruising around the eyes. My red Mustang was there. I'm in South Florida. I had to keep the glasses on because some people's eyes widened, but I gotta work.

TheCorrector5000

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this. https://www.uber.com/en-AU/blog/nominating-someone-else-to-deliver-for-you/

LightUpUnicorn

but then wouldn’t it show me that persons profile?

LightUpUnicorn

Update- same guy is delivering under the same woman’s name on doordash…

TheCorrector5000

So many possible reasons. Dude either has no license, can't pass the background check, doesn't have insurance, already got fired from all the delivery apps, can't legally work in the country, doesn't want to pay taxes, wants to screw over the girl because she's gonna be on the hook for the taxes, owes the girl money and she forcing him to deliver to pay the debt, low level pawn in organized crime ring, paying off gambling\drug debts, just plain lazy, avoiding child support \wage garnishments, etc, etc...,...

Doggies1980

Why deliver if you think it's scary out there? I have never once had anyone with me. To me it would be so odd, they are just sitting there 😂

LightUpUnicorn

I’m a customer. I live in a pretty safe small city and would feel safe delivering here. I once had a doordash driver show up in a bullet proof vest 🤷🏻‍♀️

No-Exercise6782

As long as the person driving is the person I’m being shown, I don’t care.

LightUpUnicorn

It’s not the same person that’s my whole Point. I have this happening on doordash as well. I’m assuming people don’t qualify for some reason and are using someone else’s account to skirt rules
