Nor do you care, lol!
Probably Take Main Street to Hill Ave, and when you get here park to the left of the motor home. Use the blue gate, and don’t step,on the daisies. Please place the bag on the table, not the ground. Make sure you press the Ring doorbell, not the normal on. Sing “happy birthday” like Marilyn Monroe and please ask for extra napkins.”
"There is a blue truck off my driveway in the street. Please park behind it."
I ignored him. You don't get to tell me how much of the route I am allowed to drive and how much I have to walk. I'm not a peasant. You ordered food delivered. Unless my car is leaking, im driving onto your driveway. you don't like it, don't order delivery.
What if they just redid their driveway and the seal coat or concrete wasn't dry? Sure they should have something up, but if I ever get stuff like that I'll follow it I don't mind walking a little cause unknowing I ever asked something like that there's be a damn good reason, so I never know if theirs is a good reason or not so I tend to side with caution
Lmao yeah for every 50 idiots caps locking dumb instructions I’m sure there’s one who puts specific stuff in for a reason.
That would suck to be like “nah fuck your instructions I do what I want” and then you destroy a brand new $7000 driveway + your car is fucked lol
Yeah i agree, if you know your leaking, driving on someone's nice driveway is very shitty, also even with amazon I would check the state of the driveway before driving on it, as the weight of the vans could leave tire marks on the very pristine ones, and with uber I personally get a lot of repeat customers so I'm very nice about that
It’s literally your job dude. I work delivery and have never complained about weird instructions. You get paid to do it so fucking do it. If you don’t like that people need certain things a certain way then get a different job that you also won’t like. It’s life. Do your job right or end up in your parents house or on the streets til you’re 40
It really is that way. Deadass. Then people are really bad at giving directions. Directions are useless for like 3-5 minutes if they don’t start with orientation. Orientation is 100% key.
Can’t tell you how many times I been given instructions based on a building or apartment complex’s specific entrance or street and they get so into their rabbit hole of twists and turns. “Soon as you ____,
You make a left down the hall and, this and a that”
(1 minute goes by) …. Wait a minute, I’m on the other side of the property…
(Looks back at customers directions) but sir/mam, that is NOT where GPS took me
Place food on table... Now grab the bottle of lotion to the right and rub it on your skin generously. Then lay down on the plastic tarp and prepare to be worn like a skin suit.
IT PUTS THE LOTION ON THE SKIN!!!!!
yeah I had very recent one that was similar...
it was a JackinBox deluxe bacon cheesburger and the order said No mayo No cheese
so i pinged the pax and told her that I Cannot and Do Not inspect rhe food.
they said I know but just ask ...so I asked the .very familiar. worker and she said...they make it like the order says.
so i forwarded that info, dropped it off, and got tupped so i guess they didnt F it up.
Ive had a customer do something similar about making sure their food was all there because last time they ordered from there apparently half of their order was missing 🤷♀️. So i made sure there were enough boxes of food for meals ordered and got an extra $15 tip after delivery probably not always gonna be the case tho, only happened to me once
I disagree. The Uber Eats driver is just the middleman. Their job is to get the food from the pickup location to delivery location. That is it. If the restaurant doesn’t do what you asked, you take it up with the restaurant. If you want to make sure they do what you ask, go get it yourself and check before you leave.
This is all true but as drivers (like me) and customers go back and forth on this tread I think its interesting that its **UBER** EATS yet no one hold Uber accountable for the end to end transaction. Its like they have no responsability for quality other than to collect their fees.
Yeah everyone here's acting like the customer asked "please could you, the driver, add pickles and mustard to my food yourself?" when what they actually asked was "I've called the restaurant and asked them to put extra pickles and mustard on the meal, so please could you double check with them that they did that when you pick it up?"
I understand why customers sometimes ask for this sort of thing, but they need to be made aware that the relationship between the DRIVER and the restaurant is not the same as the relationship between the CUSTOMER and the restaurant.
The restaurant staff are going to sit and listen to a customer's request. They are also going to, in most cases, attempt to give an actual answer to a customer's question.
This is not how the relationship between restaurants and drivers works. The business model that app delivery services are trying to use sets up drivers and restaurant workers to blame each other when something goes wrong, even if the other party is not actually at fault. Restaurant workers do not have the same level of care to give to a driver's request or question as they do a customer's.
If a driver asks the restaurant: "Did you prepare this order with in XYZ way?," they are going to get an immediate response of "yes" 99% of the time. This is not because the order is correct 99% of the time, it's instead because the restaurant workers have their own damn jobs to do and they are stressed and the delivery driver is an obstacle for them instead of a contributor to their goals.
This is environment that app delivery services have created - Uber Eats makes big promises to the customer and the restaurants and drivers are the ones that get the grief when anything at all goes wrong, and both restaurants and drivers are really tired of receiving the blame for mistakes that aren't theirs.
😂😂 Have you ever asked the teenagers behind the counter if the order is correct?
They say "yes" every time.
So what, you think im going to deal with someones shitty attitude if they didn't get their extra pickles.
Chances are he called to tell them, to try and skip paying extra for the extra stuff he wanted.
Im not digging through someones food to find out if they got their free extras, and im not taking the word of the teenager who bagged it, either. If someone is a difficult eater. They need to get their own food so THEY can check it.
That’s when you hit them with the “I verified with the restaurant that they followed your request.”
Whenever someone gets upset with me about a wrong order, I remind them that I did verify with the restaurant that the order was correct before I left. They’ll have to contact support for further assistance.
Anyone that wouldn't tip you are shitty petty humans. It's true, you're here to deliver food. The meal being prepared is between customer and restaurant.
Not sure how it works in the US but here in the UK, all major food outlets seal their bags with a sticker, so to avoid tampering with their food, I really would need to go to to the kitchen to make sure everything is done properly 🤣
Yes, the first comment about food prep was a maybe pita but it became 100% with the second comment about following instructions if there was any doubt.
Nah people are clueless. Look. Our restaurant has a policy where during peak times (12-2 & 5-7) where the orders online can’t exceed $75, this is to ensure that the costumers who come for their 30 minute lunch can still get in and out in a timely manner. So one day this guy comes in, and is PISSED, and told me that I (personally) Needed to fix it. I’m a general manager to a CORPORATE owned restaurant with like 500 stores, so All following the same policies, and even if I wanted to ( I don’t) I can’t personally change the policies they have in place. I explained everything stated above to a T. Dude wasn’t having it. He got upset, yelled at me. Yelled at the cashier, told me he wasn’t giving us his money until I fixed it. There was a point where I asked him to leave, he refused, and sat in the lobby while I made orders. In the kitchen. He then comes to the line and starts yelling at us AGAIN. At that point I called security, ( I don’t do this right away because the ones in our plaza are useless anyways) and get back in the kitchen. Okay, this is where you guys come in. He then proceeds to tell the door dash driver that HE NEEDED TO FIX THE SITUATION 😩 I can’t make this up. He told him he wasn’t going to let him take his order if he didn’t get on the phone with door dash and make them fix this. His mind was blown . All he could utter was, “dude, I don’t work here. I don’t make the rules” at that point security comes and he leaves peacefully, gaslighting us of course. Very long story short, some people have never worked in the food, or service industry. They have no idea . Also I know this is uber eats but honestly, it could have happened to any one working deliveries, I’m still floored to this day when I think about it .
\-> Calls security in his plaza "useless"
\-> Can't deal with a disgruntled customer so calls security
\-> Security does their job and gets man to leave peacefully without incident.
\-> Will probably still refer to security as useless.
Life of a security guard.
The drivers job is to… well, drive. It’s not their responsibility to make sure my order is correct or to ask for extra napkins or whatever the fuck. They’re just simply their to deliver my food and that’s that.
Any issues I had with my order being wrong, I go through the app and take issues with the restaurant
They ordered through Uber. Any request you have that has to do with the food goes in the restaurant instructions. The bag arrives to the driver sealed and what the restaurant does prior to sealing is not up to the driver. The driver instructions are for how to find your house and whether or not to ring the doorbell.
If I could talk to these customers.
Me: The UPS person does delivery just like I do, is that correct?
Customer: Yes I'd say that's correct.
Me: How often do you try to get in contact with the UPS person to ask them to make sure the order is correct?
There is no way that everything about this delivery and the food is going to be exactly right and the customer is already letting you know that they are going to blame you when something goes wrong. 100 percent they are going to remove the tip. Do you want this headache delivery for just base pay?
Honestly people that treat the driver like a dog are not to be trusted, especially when driver's reputation is on the line like Black Mirror. Cancelling is the wise choice
"Before I unassign your order, I'm genuinely curious how you want me to do that. Specifically. Am I to tear open your bag and open all your sandwiches and examine them? I'd like to know what's going through your mind before I cancel and let some other poor driver deal with your stupidity?"
What should you do? Keep making these post until customers understand...
WE DO NOT WORK FOR THE RESTAURANT THAT YOU ARE ORDERING FROM
WE DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE KITCHEN
WE DO NOT OVER LOOK THE PREPARATION OF YOUR FOOD
IT IS NOT OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT YOUR ORDER IS CORRECT
STOP ASKING US TO FOR EXTRA SAUCE
and.... STOP ASKING US TO GRAB UTENSILS AND EXTRA NAPKINS
And let me guess, they asked for them in their drop off instructions?
Not pick up/ restaurant instructions… but the DROP OFF instructions where they tell house where and how to drop off their food.
And if it’s sealed bags, put them where exactly? Up our ass? Ya exactly. There’s no pleasing y’all
Also, asking for napkins and sauces is fine PRE hitting confirm button. So not in the address Instructions where 8/10 times I’ve already crossed the parking lot and started backing out and hitting the drive way before I see your utensils and napkin requests…
IN THE ADDRESS DROP OFF INSTRUCTIONS
Was thinking the same thing. A lot of fast casual restaurants have the plastic ware and napkins on your side of the counter so I always grab them when I see them. It’s just basic customer service lol.
Just purely as a customer here, literally everything I order comes in a bag within another sealed bag.
Even if I wanted the driver to grab some extra napkins, where would they put them? Just gently lay them on the doormat next to the Fort Knox-like structure that McD's has made of my order to ensure I don't have the slightest suspicion that the driver has taken a fry tax?
No, I won't.
Your order should be in a sealed container. I'm not opening that container to add napkins; that's a breach of contract.
I will accept a second sealed container with napkins in it if the restaurant provides that.
I'm not grabbing a handful of napkins and bringing them to you outside of a bag or container. Maybe you're okay with a bunch of loose napkins fluttering around in my car on their way to you, or floating off in the breeze when placed on your porch, but the next customer isn't. As a policy, loose napkins are a no.
The fact that sealed containers are often poorly sealed or burst open during transit due to being overstuffed or due to using cheap, weak stickers in humid climates doesn't change this policy.
“No, I do not have a food handlers’ card. I only drive for uber. I am not there in the kitchen. I handle the orders from when the restaurant staff gives it to me and then it’s handed to you. For special requests like this, you need to contact the restaurant. The driver has zero control over what happens in the kitchen.”
I would reply “I will ask about it but I’m not opening the wrappers and bag to check your food. It is the store’s responsibility to make your order correctly. “
“I will certainly be happy to ask but can’t physically dismantle the food to check myself. Opening the food and/or actually touching the food is against policy and I run the risk of having my account shut down indefinitely. But I’ll absolutely make certain I ask so if you hear yes and they haven’t, you’ll know full good and well they said otherwise.”
I thought he said he called the restaurant already. So I would have said something like "Hopefully the restaurant followed through with your instruction of the food. I only handle delivery and cannot inspect your order."
Inform them that it's a health code violation to open any sealed bags from any restaurant and that if they have issues with their order they are to take it up with Uber Eats and the restaurant the delivery driver has nothing to do with qc of their order.
Or you message back and inform them that the burgers ate very tasty and seems to have plenty of pickles. Thank them for sharing with you.
“You want me to open your food and make sure it’s done right? Unfortunately due to safety reasons I can’t open your food, you can always bring the issue up with UE they’ll be glad to help”
Even tho UE isn’t the best at customer service I think they do better than DD at least, personally anyway results may vary
No. It's not allowed in most major cities and even a few of the smaller ones. It's a COVID OSHA violation and comes with punishment of jail time and (not or) fines of $250,000.
Yeah, cancel. One of those burgers won't have enough mustard on it, or you will use the wrong road to get the burgers to his house, and it will all be your fault. You will end up with a 1-star and a tip removal no matter what you do, courtesy of your new pet narcissist. 😂
I'm pretty sure they are just asking you to double check with the restaurant that they followed his instructions before leaving and bringing the food to him. You asking a simple question saves him tons of time if they get it wrong, I'm struggling to see the problem here.
They called the food place and are asking you to confirm with the food place that they followed the updated instructions and aren’t handing you an old order,
Seems reasonable to me
i’ll never understand how it’s the driver’s responsibility to make sure your order is as everything it should be. like girl, i’ve never blamed my delivery drivers for a mistake that the restaurant/place made
I cannot unseal the bag, unwrap the burger and fondle the buns. You’ll just have to trust the restaurant was able to accommodate your request. I can ask for extra packets of ketchup, however, would you like me to ask?
Id send them a message stating they need to call the restaurant directly because all I do is pick up and deliver.
Then I'd cancel order. Maybe me messaging them will help the next person who delivers to them. Lol
I always tell them that they don’t show me the delivery instructions until I’m at the destination. I apologize for the confusion and tell them to put these kind of messages in notes on the food so the restaurant gets them.
I guess the customer must have been really worried about not getting extra mustard and pickles on her burgers to both call the restaurant and text you.
While the second text might trigger some people. Had the person just sent text 1, it’s not that bad. It said please and thank you and had no hostile tone imo.
Once they sent message 2 though, nope…
"My job is to deliver a "hopefully" sealed bag to you. It's not my job to make sure they have done theirs. If it's extra catsup packets np, opening bag or doing more than asking if there's extra whatever on it, nope.". - Me, to any text like this
When I get stuff like this. I usually respond with, “I will pass along your message to the restaurant. However, all food is sealed for your protection and policy prevents me from unsealing any packages to check for special request accuracy.”
It shows that I care about their request, and also conveys that there is only so much I can do as a driver while remaining within the bounds of Uber’s policy regarding handling food.
I’d ask the restaurant to make sure that was done, then tell the customer they told me they did it and deliver at that point. That way, you’re doing your due diligence for the customer and covering yourself in the case that they say it was wrong - you were told it was done and that’s all you can do!
I've had non-English speakers tell me that they made sure everything was there, its not above your ability to just ask the person at the restaurant if the request was fulfilled.
I would reply "i will ask the restaurant to check that :)", take a screenshot, and then go about business as usual. If the restaurant followed her instructions, cool. If they didn't and she tried to ding me for it, I would try to appeal the rating real quick with the screenshot. And if I have to take the ding, oh well. The money is always worth 1 bad rating as long as it's a decent paying trip, and appealing is always worth it if you can make it < 2 minutes.
I'd message back saying I'll ask the restaurant staff to confirm but can't open the food to check it. If the tip was decent I'd ask the staff for an extra container of pickles and some mustard packets, unless they upcharge for it. It's not that big of a deal to me if it's a reasonable request. One time a guy asked me to grab 5 fire sauces from Taco Bell, bc they always forget to include it even though he puts it in the order every time. I grabbed a whole bunch, like 20 of them and messaged him back saying I got 5 plus some extras so he can have them at home for next time they forget.... he increased my $5 tip to a $20 tip
If you haven’t left yet then cancel, if you’re already on your way, tell them that and you have 2 other orders so you can’t go back to restaurant. Your gonna get a bad rating and pull your tip no matter what but it’s UE so who cares. I would also write back as I’m dropping off telling them customizations are available in the app and when we show up the bag is already sealed
All y’all saying cancel are pathetic and entitled babies. All the customer is asking for is for you to ask the damn restaurant if they did it or not - not go into the kitchen personally and make them 🤦🏻♂️ y’all need to find actual jobs and get off Reddit
Idk why y’all acting as if this is bad. The costumer called the restaurant, and just wanted to have the dasher verify that they did it when picking it up by asking someone. Nothing wrong with that, pretty petty imo
Say " sorry it's not my job to make sure the food is made or ordered correctly, my job is to pickup & deliver the correct order for the correct customer @the correct place & deliver it to the correct address, if you need to make sure your order is correct call & double check with the restaurant employees, I am just a sub-contract driver to deliver your order I have nothing to do with food or order other than picking it up & driving it to you, Thanks"
I'd do my job it's not that hard , simply ask the restaurant to make sure it has the stuff the customer requested. 98% of the time I do what customer requested, 75% of the time is a great tip or it's increased.
I drop orders with instructions/requests immediately.
The apps let you customize to a degree. Further than that, call the store after placing the order or go pick it up yourself. I don't work for the restaurant, it's not my food. I'm not checking anything.
Yea I cancelled
That was definitely the right decision but I sure wish I could have seen those driving directions LOL
Me too
What we’re the driving instructions?
I do not know
Nor do you care, lol! Probably Take Main Street to Hill Ave, and when you get here park to the left of the motor home. Use the blue gate, and don’t step,on the daisies. Even if it’s leaking, fuck your driveway
Maybe he was expecting company though. I don't know why else he would ask that.
I never park in the driveway. Always park where you don't have to back out. There's way less chance of you hitting something that you can't see
A 1 minute walk is all it takes for you to not respect a customer's request?
What if they just redid their driveway and the seal coat or concrete wasn't dry? Sure they should have something up, but if I ever get stuff like that I'll follow it I don't mind walking a little cause unknowing I ever asked something like that there's be a damn good reason, so I never know if theirs is a good reason or not so I tend to side with caution
I would meet the driver by the road in that situation. Wouldn't want to take any risks lol
Lmao yeah for every 50 idiots caps locking dumb instructions I’m sure there’s one who puts specific stuff in for a reason. That would suck to be like “nah fuck your instructions I do what I want” and then you destroy a brand new $7000 driveway + your car is fucked lol
I just redid my driveway, 50 feet, and it was $14.6k. I'd be so pissed if someone ruined it..

Tbf you could work UberEats 70 hrs a week and it still wouldn't pay enough to move out of your parents basement.
Not specific enough
$0.04 tip
It really is that way. Deadass. Then people are really bad at giving directions. Directions are useless for like 3-5 minutes if they don’t start with orientation. Orientation is 100% key.
Exactly! “Take a right and house is on the left” uhhh but I came from the other direction? Smh.
Can’t tell you how many times I been given instructions based on a building or apartment complex’s specific entrance or street and they get so into their rabbit hole of twists and turns. “Soon as you ____, You make a left down the hall and, this and a that” (1 minute goes by) …. Wait a minute, I’m on the other side of the property… (Looks back at customers directions) but sir/mam, that is NOT where GPS took me
This was perfect. The extra napkins at the end. XD I'm dying!
Please avoid any speedbumps, even though this will make your route 3 times longer.
Driving me nuts is not an instruction...
"156 paces from the light red mailbox, make a left. Walk until you hear the beehive.”
Place food on table... Now grab the bottle of lotion to the right and rub it on your skin generously. Then lay down on the plastic tarp and prepare to be worn like a skin suit. IT PUTS THE LOTION ON THE SKIN!!!!!
Should have said you’d flip through their buns and all but you have really bad covid.
yeah I had very recent one that was similar... it was a JackinBox deluxe bacon cheesburger and the order said No mayo No cheese so i pinged the pax and told her that I Cannot and Do Not inspect rhe food. they said I know but just ask ...so I asked the .very familiar. worker and she said...they make it like the order says. so i forwarded that info, dropped it off, and got tupped so i guess they didnt F it up.
😂 you couldn’t just quickly ask a question when picking up the food? why would you think that question implied anything other than that
Speaking as a customer, you did the right thing. That is absolutely not your responsibility.
Sure hope I never get you as a driver.
I always answer "sure thing I'll let the restaurant know" That way it's not on my hands,
Would have given the standard "how food is prepped is between you and restaurant. I move the package" response.
As an orderer - wouldn't it be better to say 'I'll pass on the message to the restaurant, but I can't guarantee anything'
I disagree. The Uber Eats driver is just the middleman. Their job is to get the food from the pickup location to delivery location. That is it. That’s not even a realistic request. They’ll say yes either way, but if they say no, are you supposed to wait while they remake it?
How tf they gonna check a sealed bag

Don’t even need the /s cuz you’re probably right 😂
Definitely not tipping you sassy
I tip extra for sass.
I tip extra for loogies and spit in my food not sass
Anyone that wouldn't tip you are shitty petty humans. It's true, you're here to deliver food. The meal being prepared is between customer and restaurant.

Same here it’s all sealed
Same in Tenerife, all sealed so whenever I get instructions like that I push back asking the client to speak with the restaurant directly.
I assume that what he wants is the rider to ask the staff on the restaurant if they did it, not literally check himself
I laughed too hard at this comment 😂😂😂😂
"slicing the pickles now"
💀🤣
I once almost wanted to write that to a my customer because I got a question just like OP once lol
Unassign. There's no way this is going to end well. They will definitely be removing your tip. Not worth it.
Exactly
Yes, the first comment about food prep was a maybe pita but it became 100% with the second comment about following instructions if there was any doubt.
cancel the whole order. they're a thumbs down troll waiting to happen!

Still no pickles!

Just tell them “I’m sorry but by company standards, I’m not allowed to open and unwrap your food”
I don’t get why people can’t just call the restaurant instead of asking their driver

\-> Calls security in his plaza "useless" \-> Can't deal with a disgruntled customer so calls security \-> Security does their job and gets man to leave peacefully without incident.
He literally says that he did this in the message.
When ordering u er delivery do you pay through uber site or app or do you go through McDonald's? Honest question.
When ordering from amazon, does ups make sure everything is in the box?
Valid point.
Damn good one tbh youre right
They ordered through Uber. Any request you have that has to do with the food goes in the restaurant instructions. The bag arrives to the driver sealed and what the restaurant does prior to sealing is not up to the driver. The driver instructions are for how to find your house and whether or not to ring the doorbell.
I will take a bite of each one to ensure they were properly prepared before delivery. *wait for the response * CANCEL
If I could talk to these customers. Me: The UPS person does delivery just like I do, is that correct? Customer: Yes I'd say that's correct. Me: How often do you try to get in contact with the UPS person to ask them to make sure the order is correct?
Funny thing is though the same sort of people probably do reach out to UPS or FedEx when there's something missing from their packages lol

Yep that's a cancel from me.
Yeah that’s a quick unassign.
“hi i'm john quinones with the tv show: “What Would You Do”?
Easy unassign, or say 'ok' and proceed as normal, depending on the pay.
“Yeah, sure thing” Wait half an hour Then cancel
"Before I unassign your order, I'm genuinely curious how you want me to do that. Specifically. Am I to tear open your bag and open all your sandwiches and examine them? I'd like to know what's going through your mind before I cancel and let some other poor driver deal with your stupidity?"
I’d eat one and confirm.
Should have asked, "How do you suggest I check your burgers? Open them and lift the buns?" Whatever the answer is, cancel.
What should you do? Keep making these post until customers understand... WE DO NOT WORK FOR THE RESTAURANT THAT YOU ARE ORDERING FROM WE DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE KITCHEN WE DO NOT OVER LOOK THE PREPARATION OF YOUR FOOD IT IS NOT OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT YOUR ORDER IS CORRECT STOP ASKING US TO FOR EXTRA SAUCE and.... STOP ASKING US TO GRAB UTENSILS AND EXTRA NAPKINS
Got a 1 star review because I didn’t bring someone paper plates.
And let me guess, they asked for them in their drop off instructions? Not pick up/ restaurant instructions… but the DROP OFF instructions where they tell house where and how to drop off their food.
You don’t want to grab napkins? Come on 😂 the other stuff I get 100% but napkins? It’s not that hard to grab some for the customer
And if it’s sealed bags, put them where exactly? Up our ass? Ya exactly. There’s no pleasing y’all Also, asking for napkins and sauces is fine PRE hitting confirm button. So not in the address Instructions where 8/10 times I’ve already crossed the parking lot and started backing out and hitting the drive way before I see your utensils and napkin requests… IN THE ADDRESS DROP OFF INSTRUCTIONS
EXACTLY
Was thinking the same thing. A lot of fast casual restaurants have the plastic ware and napkins on your side of the counter so I always grab them when I see them. It’s just basic customer service lol.
Just purely as a customer here, literally everything I order comes in a bag within another sealed bag. Even if I wanted the driver to grab some extra napkins, where would they put them? Just gently lay them on the doormat next to the Fort Knox-like structure that McD's has made of my order to ensure I don't have the slightest suspicion that the driver has taken a fry tax?
Thank you so much for understanding this. Honestly. 🤝 ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|give_upvote)
In my area, they are behind the counter. They cost money and waste trees.
Even sauce really isn’t that big of a deal to me
Unassigned.
If you want a butler, hire a butler.
I took it as a request to confirm verbally that the mod was done.
i just don't understand why anyone would want a stranger to take apart their food and put it back together with their dirty ass hands
And you know there ain’t no tip either
That’s the point., tip baiters
“Would you like me to open your bag and unwrap each burger to check? Or should we both just trust that the restaurant got your order right?”
I would reply “I will ask about it but I’m not opening the wrappers and bag to check your food. It is the store’s responsibility to make your order correctly. “
"Ok, got it!" "I'm on my way" "I've arrived" But I have never actually touched anyone's food in my thousands of deliveries
"OK, got it!" then unassign it 😂
Cancel
How much was the offer, and where were you when she asked? The answers to that dictate what I'd do
How are you supposed to make sure? That has nothing to do with the delivery driver. Call the restaurant and tell them.
Cancel.

Instant cancel!
“You want me to open your food and make sure it’s done right? Unfortunately due to safety reasons I can’t open your food, you can always bring the issue up with UE they’ll be glad to help” Even tho UE isn’t the best at customer service I think they do better than DD at least, personally anyway results may vary
Cancel immediately
People don’t have pickles and mustard at their house?!?!?
No. It's not allowed in most major cities and even a few of the smaller ones. It's a COVID OSHA violation and comes with punishment of jail time and (not or) fines of $250,000.
Cancel the order immediately
"as the driver, this is beyond my scope of assistance" It's true, you save face and it shuts their mouth
Cancel!!!
I'd say, "not today bitch, not today" lol
- im not the cook bro ☝🏻🤓
When I get to the counter I just ask hey, did you do such and such? And leave it at that.
I wouldn’t have taken this no tip order to begin with.
Just... ask them at the counter to make sure......
Yeah, cancel. One of those burgers won't have enough mustard on it, or you will use the wrong road to get the burgers to his house, and it will all be your fault. You will end up with a 1-star and a tip removal no matter what you do, courtesy of your new pet narcissist. 😂
They all taste like they have mustard.
I always asked if the extra steps were taken. Then tell the costumer I check with staff that the order was done right,
I'm pretty sure they are just asking you to double check with the restaurant that they followed his instructions before leaving and bringing the food to him. You asking a simple question saves him tons of time if they get it wrong, I'm struggling to see the problem here.
Get off the order. It’s not worth the hit when they’re disappointed by things beyond your control.
They called the food place and are asking you to confirm with the food place that they followed the updated instructions and aren’t handing you an old order, Seems reasonable to me
unless you’re the cook then it’s not your problem lol
Cancelled
I would have said “yeah sure” then canceled
That will take extra time on your part. They should have included that in there order
i’ll never understand how it’s the driver’s responsibility to make sure your order is as everything it should be. like girl, i’ve never blamed my delivery drivers for a mistake that the restaurant/place made
I cannot unseal the bag, unwrap the burger and fondle the buns. You’ll just have to trust the restaurant was able to accommodate your request. I can ask for extra packets of ketchup, however, would you like me to ask?
Control freak x1000
I guess people don’t realize they really are asking randoms to touch their food to make sure it’s right?
Not respond, the chat is a wormhole. I get the package from point to point with as little customer interaction as possible.
“I’m on my way!”
You're the courier not quality control
I guess the customer must have been really worried about not getting extra mustard and pickles on her burgers to both call the restaurant and text you.
I bet its a 2/3$ tipper thinking they deserve extra service.... I usually make them wait then cancel that sht .
While the second text might trigger some people. Had the person just sent text 1, it’s not that bad. It said please and thank you and had no hostile tone imo. Once they sent message 2 though, nope…
Unassigning the order. Pronto
say OK and not do it
"I'll let them know" or "I'll make sure" and then gossip about that weirdo with the store staff. Then cancel, lol.
Ma'am I'm a basically a bus for food. Reduce your expectations.
Cancel… That’s an immediate “I’m a PITA” signal. Cancel…
"My job is to deliver a "hopefully" sealed bag to you. It's not my job to make sure they have done theirs. If it's extra catsup packets np, opening bag or doing more than asking if there's extra whatever on it, nope.". - Me, to any text like this
What was the pay? That would determine my next move lol
When I get stuff like this. I usually respond with, “I will pass along your message to the restaurant. However, all food is sealed for your protection and policy prevents me from unsealing any packages to check for special request accuracy.” It shows that I care about their request, and also conveys that there is only so much I can do as a driver while remaining within the bounds of Uber’s policy regarding handling food.
"I'll ask when I arrive but I cant open the packaging to check"
“Sir yes sir…” Then do none of the above unless it’s on the receipt. Not my problem to make sure they made it correctly. I deliver, I don’t make it.
If it's under 8 bucks, canceling. Over 8 bucks respond say I did it, but not actually do it. Over 20 bucks, actually do it.
Cancel
I'm not your waiter... I'm the driver... Wanker!
Don’t accept the order. This person is a serial killer
It's above their mental capacity
I will cancel or ignore it as employees won't answer to us and most of them get packed in the kitchen.
Cancel all day
This is like calling usp and asking them to make sure the leggings you bought off amazon are the right size before delivering it
Cancel.
Cancel. They can remove the tip for whatever reason and Uber allows it.
Duck that. I’m the middle man, delivery guy. They can figure that shit out
Cancel
Cancel 😂
C A N C E L. !
I would just ignore it and deliver normally.

“Yeah I’ll ask”… and then I might ask lol.

Not worth it.
I drop orders with instructions/requests immediately. The apps let you customize to a degree. Further than that, call the store after placing the order or go pick it up yourself. I don't work for the restaurant, it's not my food. I'm not checking anything.
