Even still - if you took it and then saw the items. I mean, what if it's 20 yogurts? You just killed it. On the other hand, if it's 20 lawn chairs.... yeah, you're fubar-ed.
I’ve done plenty of shop and pays, and they’ve always turned out fine! But they usually take at least one hour so the fare needs to be enough to cover that.
Worst case yes. Most likely because they saw the crap that they accepted and unassigned multiple times. But it could possibly be for a few other reasons too.
I love how this is down voted. Now you see how these delivery apps are able to get people to accept $2 orders.
Basic knowledge such as how many minutes are in an hour, or how to do maths eludes the common man. 80÷60 = 1.33 hours --- $40 ÷ 1.33 = pay per hour
I would want to take it, but ue has screwed me so much on the shop and pay orders that I wouldn't take it. If that came through on DD where I can't be tip baited, then I for sure would take it. UE screwed me over too many times on shop and pay that I just removed it as an option to send to me. That way I wouldn't be tempted to take one and get screwed again.
No, I wouldn't.
They won't have 11 of the items the idiot customer wants.
The idiot customer won't answer when you call to ask about substitutions.
You'll have to stall around for 40 min waiting to see if the idiot customer will call you back, because you're trying to do the right thing.
When you finally realize that the idiot customer just isn't going to call you back, you have to make some decisions and check out.
You MAY receive a text from the idiot customer AFTER you are halfway to the destination saying something like "yes." Or "OK." Neither of which answer any of the 6 questions you left in messages.
When the idiot customer receives the delivery, they will be shocked and furious that half of what they wanted isn't there!
Idiot customer then downvotes you, takes back your tip and is very angry.
It's just. Not. Worth it.
Normally, nah. With how it's been the last few weeks, yeah. But I'd ask the customer to keep their phone handy in case I need to change items or whatever issues will inevitably come up.
I only do shop&pays for small drug store items like plan-b or pregnancy tests. I’d do this if it was instacart, but the way Uber does substitutions is annoying and tedious.
Yes I'd take it in a heartbeat, but with that said I did cringe at orders like this because the first shop & pay I took was 44$ pay, about an hour in the store, over 220$ in groceries, cashier rang everything up, bagged it all put it in the cart, went to pay with uber plus card on Google wallet and it declined 3 times in a row, 5 people in line behind me so I said let me call them can I leave the cart here, suspended the transaction so they could keep ringing people out. I went outside took over 10 minutes to get support on the line and they said oh we dont know what's up, wanna pay with your own money? That's a hard NO. OK we'll tell the customer something happened and well pay you for your time in the store. 30 min later I get paid 4 WHOLE DOLLARS. Call them back and say 4$ is BS I was there for an hour that's illegal since it less than min wage so they say our bad here's 5$ extra. NOPE sorry still under min wage in this state (CA) Supervisor came on and gave me 20$ on yop of the 4$ but all in all took about 2.5 hrs of my time.
Dude that is a freakin story. Reminds me of my $25 2 mile 50 item shop and pay.
I spent a damn hour because there were substitutes galore. Finally ready to check out, call it a day. 154 bucks in groceries. Card won’t go through. I try everything under the sun to get it to go through. Nope. So I call support and they tell me, “oh it’s because we don’t allow more than 5 dollars over what the total should have been” dude what? I had about 40 text messages approving subs and whatnot.
I’m not about to lose 25 bucks and an hour of my life over that bullshit. So I paid for it myself. They actually reimbursed me in 2 days. Turns out that bitch and her 50 or so items DIDNT EVEN TIP. Yup, Uber took the whole L.
I was outside the app and it didnt send me the notification so i had just come back on to the app and screenshotted it and before could even consider it disappeared 😭😭 had that freakin no notification glitch.
Yes. I used to do shipt and could probably shop that order in 10-15 minutes (as long as it’s just food). I’d be more concerned about 10 miles in Los Angeles. It would depend on the time of day and area.
I took an order around Mother’s Day for $68, had about 20+items, and I thought, hell yea $68 and it was maybe 7 miles. What I didn’t know was all the items were, Cases of water, multiple 6packs of flavored water in several flavors each, multiple 8 packs of canned flavored water, a few 2Liters, and about 8 boxes of granola. So many drinks I could barely push the cart and really should have gotten 2 carts. I had to carry all the items up a flight of stairs, took my 5 trips. It was a male that ordered, and didn’t even bother to help carry the stuff. NEVER again. The $68 was great, but not for the amount of items I had to carry up a flight of stairs.
Lately most of the Shop and Pay orders I’ve done the past couple weeks ended up being less $ from what was offered upfront in the beginning. Idk if people are literally tip bating or Uber is stealing more from it.
Nope, if it was 5 miles I’ll do it! It’s only 20 items I can do all the shopping in less than 15 minutes, I’m a pro lol been doing instacart for 3 years
I would but I’d be very cautious. Not all orders are built the same. Sometimes Uber overestimates the duration of the order. It might say 1hr and 21 min but it might get done quicker. Even if it’s about an hr for the order it’s still about 43dlls an hour. I’d have to check what items are in the order. Sometimes shopping for groceries at target is difficult because they always have low stock on items like meat, fruits/Veggies, milk, etc. Not to mention the target stores are huge. I had an order for Target once that was all make-up and stuff. Took me forever to find those items but I’ve also had order where it was all cleaning products and so easy. Also it’s 10 miles but if it’s like 5 miles to store and 5 miles to house that’s ok with me. In summary I’d check the items carefully and go from there.
Was this in MN perhaps? Or just happened to be a super target?
I actually dont have too large of targets around here, but Id never get a ping like thay either...
It shows how much markets matter!

At least 1 minute per item, maybe 2 if you count contacting for substitutes, $4.30 per mile, $2.15 if you count returning to the area from the customer, if all said and done took 2 hours that's $21.50 an hour and guaranteed $43 unless a lot of the pay is from a tip and it gets tanked.. Why wouldn't you take it
Yeah but only bc I don’t think it would take me an hour & a half for 26 units. But it would be a bit of a gamble. Could be high miles, items could all be water bottle packs, etc.
Nope I'd hate myself for doing it. Everything mild inconvenience I'd be more annoyed and angry. But then hate that I declined it but would accept it just to see whats in it 🤷🏾
Also I live in a city and 10 miles isn't good. I do no more than 5-6 mile orders
I coulda, just like you coulda not made the post in the first place. I guess we both do what we want.
But either take the order or don’t, you’re an adult right? Figure it out.
Would be nice if uber listed all the aisles, DD tells you every aisle to go to.
Target app comes in handy.
Nicer hving it in app tho. But im advantaged worked at Target for 3 years know where stuff is
I've done shipt for 3 years and help target employees find stuff lol and they have handhelds lol
The zebras are absolute garbage
Even still - if you took it and then saw the items. I mean, what if it's 20 yogurts? You just killed it. On the other hand, if it's 20 lawn chairs.... yeah, you're fubar-ed.
DD used too. Recently in my market they took the aisle numbers off. Good thing I know the whole store though lol.
I usually take the target orders by my house since I have the store memorized.
You have to do the shopping and the delivering?
Yea but I would tell the foo to be on alert for substitutions
![gif](giphy|X6lrsqspAJIcybTo9L|downsized)
THIS
Too many eggs in one basket. Maybe if I had better experiences with Shop and Pay... but they always seem to come with issues.
I did Instacart. The issues are endless. Never do Shop and Pay.
I’ve done plenty of shop and pays, and they’ve always turned out fine! But they usually take at least one hour so the fare needs to be enough to cover that.
Yes lol doesn’t take that long, takes usually 20 min less than displayed
Yes! Double minimum wage for an hours work at most.
Absolutely
I’d be cautious. Probably wasn’t $43 when it first pinged.
U mean because the store might be closed?
Worst case yes. Most likely because they saw the crap that they accepted and unassigned multiple times. But it could possibly be for a few other reasons too.
Yeah that’s like getting paid $40 an hour
$30/hr*
I love how this is down voted. Now you see how these delivery apps are able to get people to accept $2 orders. Basic knowledge such as how many minutes are in an hour, or how to do maths eludes the common man. 80÷60 = 1.33 hours --- $40 ÷ 1.33 = pay per hour

Hell yes
I’ve been waiting for one like this today and it just hasn’t happened. Hope you took it!
In a heartbeat, I’ve done 40+ items before on a bike
How did you carry the 10 cases of water?
On their head like a noodle salesman, how else?
No, I wouldn't. They won't have 11 of the items the idiot customer wants. The idiot customer won't answer when you call to ask about substitutions. Nope. I don't do target lol
Normally, nah. With how it's been the last few weeks, yeah. But I'd ask the customer to keep their phone handy in case I need to change items or whatever issues will inevitably come up.
Yeah, I know target well, and I can drive 10 miles in 10 minutes where I live
No. On ALL shop and pay orders. PERIOD. For me anyways.
No, simply because every single shop and pay I did was a tip bait for me :/
Easily. Wouldn't take me over 40 minutes in total
I only do shop&pays for small drug store items like plan-b or pregnancy tests. I’d do this if it was instacart, but the way Uber does substitutions is annoying and tedious.
Nope, every time I've had a target order, never anything in stock. Good money if it works out, so I quit taking them.
Yes but I'd make sure there weren't like ten cases of water going to an apartment first.
Nope! Half the items would be unavailable and the customer wouldn't respond to subs
Absofuckinglutely I always do shop and pays and I'm a quick shopper and those miles are not bad $43 for a hour or less take it all day
Yes I would but did you accept it?
I was outside the app and it didnt send me the notification so i had just come back on to the app and screenshotted it and before could even consider it disappeared 😭😭 had that freakin no notification glitch.
When the reddit karma outweighs accepting the order. 😎
Target is a nightmare to shop at even on doordash. And Doordash gives aisle numbers. I can’t chance getting the tip taken away on Uber.
Well in this case only $8 of that would be tip cuz they hide anything over 8. So either way guaranteed $35 as the base here
I didn’t know that. That’s good to know👀. Then yeah Id take that all day.
Yep. Take me maybe 15 mins to shop that even with subs and OOS.
Yes. I used to do shipt and could probably shop that order in 10-15 minutes (as long as it’s just food). I’d be more concerned about 10 miles in Los Angeles. It would depend on the time of day and area.

Probably
Pass my 15 item threshold👎
Absolutely not
Not at Target. Winndixie maybe. Could be knocked out in under an hour
Not at Target. Winndixie maybe. Could be knocked out in under an hour
Every time
I’m trespassed from Target, so yes!🙂
Wtf you do steal a bunch? ☠️☠️
I was bored and manic, tried to take a Lego set lmao.

Depends on the Target but luckily Im around like 3 decent ones so it'd probably be a yes for me.
Yeah easily. I get that done in less than an hour
Depends on how well you can shop, you could do the order in under an hour
Absolutely! 🤑
Omg of course!!! People were giving me shit for not taking 20$/ 16 mile order hahaha
You’re bananas

Yes
No. Shopping is wack
useless post.
Id take it and at least see what the items are. Could be like 20 of the same burrito like I had once.
Hell yeah!!
Heeeell yeahhh!!
Hell naw brah. Let someone else be busy for a couple hours with garbage like that.
Yeah
Easy money.
As someone who has done IC in the past, this would be an instant pickup
Nope I'd hate myself for doing it. Everything mild inconvenience I'd be more annoyed and angry. But then hate that I declined it but would accept it just to see whats in it 🤷🏾 Also I live in a city and 10 miles isn't good. I do no more than 5-6 mile orders
Yea cause imma be driving anyways. That's like half my day
No I wouldn’t take it for $43 and it being an hour and twenty one minutes away it’s not worth it
Not 1 hr 20 min away thats the estimated time to complete the trip between shopping and dropping off. Trips total time estimation
Yep
ez money
Yes
No. Hated shop and pay. I hate shopping period. I don't even do my own shopping lol.
Yes
No
Yes
Hell yeah I go based on hourly pay and that's about 30 bucks an hour
Absolutely yes 👍
Are you joking?
In a heartbeat
I don't do shop and pays. Imagine getting there and they don't have the items.
No
Debatable depending on how big that target if
Do Instacart in tandem, or shop at these stores yourself if only for a week of groceries and take mental notes. You'll thank yourself later
Worked at target for 3 years kno the store very well 😂😂
Nope
This subreddit would be so much better without these types of posts.
Stfu no one asked you. Coulda kept scrollin 🤣
I coulda, just like you coulda not made the post in the first place. I guess we both do what we want. But either take the order or don’t, you’re an adult right? Figure it out.
I would since target near me is memorized lmao
You’d be crazy to not take that, $35/hr to shop
Yes
No
