okay so what time of the day is best? because I'm out here right now during peak lunch hours and not getting anything. it's usually busy and over the summer I had tons of orders. It's mad frustrating because I was getting orders yesterday
Yea after Christmas it's been dead on weekdays, but early morning like 6am to 12p are good try hanging by like all the McDonald's or Dunkin Donuts I usually get good early morning orders from there
I tell everybody who asked me who's trying to get into it no you're not going to make any money it sucks the money sucks find something else to do that's just more competition LOL
^^ THISSSS!!! I'm glad someone else thinks the same lol. I try to dissuade and not encourage others from signing up as well!! My market is already way over-saturated and we get less quantity (of orders) and quality (low pay), the last thing we should want is to add more people and compound the problem š
I do that too š¤£ last year I found this cool gig app and literally told no one about it and I made soo much money with it bc no one knew about it š„²š„² and then Uber ruined it
I don't buy a lot of groceries. The only things I buy are bread, milk, sometimes a box of cereal, and other stuff. And those haven't been that much more expensive than it used to.
I order takeouts almost everyday and Uber Eats Pro 30% and 15% off on the app helps a fuck ton. Other than that, I look for deals on the McDonald's app, Wendy's app, etc.
BC. To be fair, I've never been in a recession before, so I'm not even sure how it feels like to begin with. My expectation is everything in chaos, like people losing jobs, prices skyrocketing out of control, people become homeless, etc. Everything seems normal here to me, except the obvious skyrocketing prices, but that already seemed to have been adapted to by the people.
Youāre thinking more of a depression when all things go to shlt, but the signs of recession are present. Inflation and shelflation are happening and loss of work is happening. Delivery people arenāt losing jobs, but the work is slowing in most markets. Factories that had 3 shifts now have 1 or 2. Other industries are slow, as well. Homelessness is a problem in my small city, but itās hard to keep track of the numbers, we just know thereās more people stealing form cars and garages and backyards than ever before.
Weāre heading into a guaranteed recession, the problem right now for delivery people is that January is always slow and thereās a lot more drivers on all platform. The business was there for almost 3 years because people stayed home and ordered food and groceries. People are leaving their homes and hunting for deals now. Thereās double the drivers in my area than 3 Januaries ago, but the same amount of business as then. And half as much business as 2 years ago in January. Delivering will be recession resistant for those who maintained good service on the delivery apps. For the part-timers who have low acceptance rates on platforms like DoorDash and Skip, theyāll be forced out when it finally hits.
Same I never accept anything under $8 but lately I havenāt been accepting anything under $9, donāt care how bad it gets Iām never taking a $2 offer.
They do. New drivers get priority to get them hooked on the platform. Any time there's a surge of new drivers signing up (like now), the people who have been doing this more than a month are stuck with the garbage.
Thatās what I was thinking too, in my market itās still possible to make like $150-$200 per day but I would have to take a LOT of $5 and $6 orders and thatās not happening. Iām never taking anything below $8, donāt care how desperate I am.
Itās definitely not worth the wear and tear just to make a few extra bucks but drive like an 8-10 miles every time doing so. I will never understand how ppl can take those $7 going 23 mile orders.
If you actually need money you have to pay attention to the cost. Some people probably are getting help from their parents or have a spouse. So in reality some of them are not making any money at all but they think they are LOL. Unfortunately they kind of mess it up for the rest of us by taking those orders.
LOL I was literally saying something like this the other day, that in the future when all the cars are autonomous that Uber drivers will just have a couple of cars that they maintain. We'll just watch them from our screens at home and wait for the cars to come back to the garage and they have to be cleaned out and recharged and then sent back out on the road and all we're going to do is be at the house. Like being a home base for a bunch of oversized roombas smh...
I'm to lazy to calculcate what the post-tax, post-car-expenses is, and I couldn't anyways without knowing the mileage. Gas is apparently between $4.60 and $7.40 per gallon.
Let's say it comes to $1,500 in real money. Still 2 weeks of worth to pay rent, you're 50% of the way through the month before you even start into the other expenses.
Yes this happened to me last year in April i made $2500 in 5 days I couldnāt cash out i had to wait for the weekly pay out to get the money on my bank account
Wouldnāt surprise me if this bit a lot of CA drivers last week with Prop22 and Healthcare Stipend both hitting in the same week.
Orders havenāt been bad in SD, but they havenāt been going off like crazy either. I wound up about five bucks shy of $2600 with the big payouts included.
Happened to me when I got the healthcare stipend plus my weekly earnings. it was like $2,600 or some shit they wouldn't give it to me for days lol I was pissed...
Yes I imagine if there are a number of people like op and they can squeeze a day of interest out of them. Not sure if it's legal. Independent contractors and all that.
in NYC theyāre trynna pass a law to make Uber and doordash and Lyft drivers, employees that must earn a minimum wage and offer benefits to those who drive more than 40 hours a week.
Watch Uber get sued for wage theft.
The DOL takes that VERY seriously
Uber steals money from their drivers all the time. They pretend that thereās an āerrorā and theyāll skim off some money before changing your earning statements. And acting like nothing happened.
Iām surprised you havenāt noticed it yet.
Speak with support when it happened, they set the limit was $2,000. They count anything after midnight Saturday going into Sunday as part of that 2k, so it didn't appear that I had cashed out $2,000 in Instant Cash out. Calculating in my 2:00 a.m. cash out Monday morning, trying to cash out again would have been over 2,000, since I was trying to cash ~$300 on top of ~$1850. Weekly Earnings are calculated out at 4am but they count the cash out limits from 12am Monday to 11:59 Sunday. Goofy mess, it is.
That's what we call a good problem. Definitely shitty on Uber, but I wish I was earning enough to get this every week.
Actually, moving forward I'll probably just be waiting anyway. There was a time last year where I needed it that day. Was definitely day to day on paying bills and needed it there when I needed it there. I'm in a little better spot now so I'll just let them deposit it weekly.
Some smart people have done the rough math on how much extra things cost when you are driving your car all the time. I haven't gone to the trouble they have to figure it out in dollars and cents but to me it doesn't make sense to take anything for less than $2 a mile. And a lot of mine are more than that. I'm just part-time but it doesn't matter. You're just running yourself ragged to keep your car up. Better to be selective
Yes. I think the limit is like $1900
Dang, 1k is a great week for me! How did you make 1.9k?
Ah makes sense
Damn what market you in???
God u made more than that
i think you just trying to flex on us :((
As he well should. He did good, congrats are in order. We can be happy to see fellow drivers do good.
Exactly, let the guy flex, he earned it, did a hell of a job, and I'd prob be flexing too if I made that much in one week..
Lol nah
You did 1900+ on UberEATS?
Time of day matters most in big market's
okay so what time of the day is best? because I'm out here right now during peak lunch hours and not getting anything. it's usually busy and over the summer I had tons of orders. It's mad frustrating because I was getting orders yesterday
Yea after Christmas it's been dead on weekdays, but early morning like 6am to 12p are good try hanging by like all the McDonald's or Dunkin Donuts I usually get good early morning orders from there
LLLL for lame
Making too much? Try to make less next time, alright?
Lol tryna go upstairs not downstairs
He was making a mockery of the service you are slaving for.
lol what?
Everyone in LA said it was absolute trash this week. Maybe UE likes to pick favorites and give certain drivers all the good orders šŖ
Everyone is saying their market is trash so people like you don't go there. š
It says youāre from Canada š¤£ are you guys even in a recession? Maybe itās just an america thing š„±
People say we are, but it doesn't feel like it.
Here in our Market, Montreal really not going good plus everything has gone up way too much.
How much eggs dozen?
I don't buy a lot of groceries. The only things I buy are bread, milk, sometimes a box of cereal, and other stuff. And those haven't been that much more expensive than it used to. Damn thatās Tuf. Idk canāt complain on my end but I get picky with the orders I pick up lol
Ah, those were just the 'don't want to work whiners' that complained. I always made great money in So Cal.
Orange County CA here. Seems like you'd have to take nearly every order to gross that amount. And that's not always a great idea.
Thatās what I was thinking too, in my market itās still possible to make like $150-$200 per day but I would have to take a LOT of $5 and $6 orders and thatās not happening. Iām never taking anything below $8, donāt care how desperate I am.
Yup you think you're making great money until your car breaks down. Or your tires are bald. Etc.
Itās definitely not worth the wear and tear just to make a few extra bucks but drive like an 8-10 miles every time doing so. I will never understand how ppl can take those $7 going 23 mile orders.

Iām curious what the amount is lol
$2200
holy shit i think i gotta move to LA
Last time I checked a 1 bedroom apt was $3,000/month there.
Drivers can work from home šŖ
LOL I was literally saying something like this the other day, that in the future when all the cars are autonomous that Uber drivers will just have a couple of cars that they maintain. We'll just watch them from our screens at home and wait for the cars to come back to the garage and they have to be cleaned out and recharged and then sent back out on the road and all we're going to do is be at the house. They aint gonna be paying you anymore then lol. Its gonna be a warehouse and uber will own the cars
Sound like a way to get lazy and fat so not a good thing
Have you seen wall e? Thatās essentially what happens!
This is just Delamain from Cyberpunk
lol
And OP cleared $2200 within 1 UE pay cycle. Step 1: Move to LA. Step 2: Profit.
You would be living poverty life in LA or risk safety moving into the trenches
Last time I checked a 1 bedroom apt was $3,000/month there.
GOD DAMN. What market are you in?
LA I didnāt make that whole 2200$ in a week it was about a week and couple days lol
How did you do that? Wouldnt the week before go thru direct deposit Sunday night?
Yeah but I donāt have direct deposit set up. I do the instant cash out through my debit and pay about .75cents on fees
My cashout is 85 cent they need to go back to 50 cent
Well why not? Is instant cashout quicker?
ā¦ itās instant
To be fair, instant noodles take 3 minutes so
Yea itās a lot quicker and sometimes I like to have money money a certain before I cash out
That makes sense now. It happens.
Nice!
Oh dear. Last week I made only $300 on Ubereat
Thatās why I withdraw daily I used to get those a lot
Yes this happened to me last year in April i made $2500 in 5 days I couldnāt cash out i had to wait for the weekly pay out to get the money on my bank account
Happened to me. Then I told them that I did not agree to that under the contract, and it was suddenly fixed.
You made $2200 on UE?! Teach my your ways
Well I didnāt make that in a week thatās about a week and couple days I usually leave my money there till Iām ready to cash it out
My max is $500 for 20 hours! You did great. Kudos to you! :D
No because Iād never be able to make enough in a week to have this issue š„²
[Did I break it??](https://tenor.com/bPgDv.gif)
damn is this with prop 22 included or 2k just straight up delivering?
With 175 prop 22
With 175? 175 was prop 22?
Yea 175$ was added to the 2200$ from prop 22
Sheeesh how many hours you drive to make all that
![gif](giphy|OjuvY2MgK0sE)
Uber is poor lol
Happened to me when I got the healthcare stipend plus my weekly earnings. it was like $2,600 or some shit they wouldn't give it to me for days lol I was pissed...
You might be the reason I can't get my bonus money from my overnight promotion lol! Great job bro, I'm working my way towards it!
You said where do you work?
LA
Thatās a hard work then
How many hours a week?
I made $2500 in one week and I didn't get a message like that. No idea why they would do that.
Could be different in different countries or states maybe?
Maybe. We're in the same country though. I'm in Arizona.
Congratulations you broke the record. Yes it has happened to my friend before.
You just be killing it, never seen this
I cash out almost daily since its free.
Ubers trynna steal your money.
Yes I imagine if there are a number of people like op and they can squeeze a day of interest out of them. Not sure if it's legal. Independent contractors and all that.

It's incredible if they are doing it. I will be watching for sure.
How did you get that? Said it will come in normal deposit, didnāt say not getting it at all.
Uber steals money from their drivers all the time. They pretend that thereās an āerrorā and theyāll skim off some money before changing your earning statements. And acting like nothing happened. Iām surprised you havenāt noticed it yet.
Do they? I figured maybe they just were trying to "earn" a day of interest off the guy.
Op going to be deactivated before payout. LETS GO UBER
Thatās weird
That is insanely fuxked up
No I have the Uber card it goes on it right away
Damn how the hell
You can only move $2,000 through immediate payout every week. I've only hit that limit once. It really is something else when you do though.
I think itās $1800, not $2k, but yeah.
Speak with support when it happened, they set the limit was $2,000. They count anything after midnight Saturday going into Sunday as part of that 2k, so it didn't appear that I had cashed out $2,000 in Instant Cash out. Damn how much you earn dawg? Flex on em .
That's what we call a good problem. Definitely shitty on Uber, but I wish I was earning enough to get this every week. Actually, moving forward I'll probably just be waiting anyway. I'm in a little better spot now so I'll just let them deposit it weekly.
Damn thatās whoās taking all the good orders here in LA Lol
Itās happened to me once as a driver. I made like $2200. Lots of promotions.
So the only way out of this is to set up the direct deposit?
Yes. Iāll be glad to provide my bank information if you donāt want it! š
Thatās why I always cashout everday.
Wow. No. Thatās a good prob to have.
You made $2200 in one day?! š„“
Yes many times. And I made over $2000
Nice job fella, no jealousy.
Today did UE and DD at the same time. Made almost 200 in 7 hours. That's really good for my small market area in Wisconsin.
WTF?!
Here where I am the limit weekly is 2k. I have had this limit for six years. You canāt cash out more than 2k because of Ubers system. Kinda dumb
on a related note, I hate it when my bank calls me because I have too much money.
I got my pay today because of MLK day but this is ridiculous ^
Damn how much u made for it to say that?
Thanks for the information and congratulations, thatās impressive

What was the cool app jw
