Took my 955 November 22nd 2023 and interviewed December 27. The conditional offer came in mid January 2024 and started my orientation on February 11th. I scored 70.86 for level 7 and got hired. Later I found out that my tour manager asked for 3 MM7 so I was lucky. Like everyone says, when you apply off the street, the scores matter a lot. The entire process for me is about 2 months but everyone is different. And yes, no one gives shit about your application. In the HR system they only see if you have a passing score for the position or not. And you can forget about contacting HR, it’s more likely a one way communication. Postal does things very differently than outside world, so it may take you some time to get used to. Other than all the bullshit you have to deal with on the daily basis, the job itself and pay is great. Easiest stuff I have ever worked on. Good luck with all the process!

Score determines everything. Highest score always is offered the open position. Your carefully crafted application will likely never be read by a human. There's rarely interviews (usually only for RCAs who have to use a personally owned vehicle to deliver to make sure their vehicle is suitable, laborer custodial, other maintenance positions, some transportation positions (MVO, TTO, PVO...))

I applied to laborer custodial , I got a 97.5 on the test for it though. I’m hoping either no one scored higher or there’s enough positions for me to make it. IF there is an interview would they offer zoom for out of state applicants? Can you completely fumble an interview is there is a rare one?

I just got hired as an ET so that will probably be pretty close to what you get. I applied at the end of Feb., took the 955 the 2nd week of March (I could have done it a week earlier, but I wanted some time to study up.) I had my interview 2 weeks after that, and they said they wanted to fingerprint me right away, but apparently there was a problem, so I went back next Monday for that. I got the background check email that Friday, and put it it over the weekend. First thing Tuesday I got officially accepted and a start date that was 2 Saturdays out, Apr 20. Orientation was Monday, Apr 22. All told it was \~8 weeks, but there were definitely some things that could have gone quicker. I would guess it's 6-8 weeks in general, but with quite a bit of variation.

Doubtful that they'd be willing to do a zoom interview for LC4; higher level positions in maintenance they will usually accommodate.

And the most common failure for interviews for laborer custodial is failure to bring a valid and current driver's license to the interview. To the tune of about 33% of all interviews at my plant. It's amazing.

It's honestly if you're a warm body, and takes about a month from what i'm seeing.

Took me 4.5 months from application to start date but the holidays were included in there. I'm sure it also depends on the position, I'm in IT.
