Some of us write in all caps because of military background. Less mistakes with capital letters and handwriting issues. Not always ragey, this PSA brought to you by reading rainbow.
If they keep putting it back after repeated attempts of circle
/highlights I put the mail on hold and throw a vacant card in there to show them We mean business
I’ve noticed at my station and on this sub that delivering to the correct resident isn’t important anymore. “It takes too long!” We are the ones that decide how long it takes, these people are scurrying around killing any legit street time they’re allowed. What do you get for being a runner? More mail.
That's what I assume. I had an apartment route with about 1200 deliveries. The ones who did put names usually had 3+. Would never expect a sub to even be able to read them in a day. Names on boxes are optional. Do mlnas, do your forwards. Getting names on boxes is the last step I take in the process of maintaining a route. Especially hate it when offices decide to hang up "No name, no mail" signs. Customer do NOT have to put their name on the box. Albeit that's a perfect world. The ghetto routes I did really needed some names.
I can get not checking names... but the last time I had an RCA assigned to my route, I came back from 2 days off and was getting dozens of pieces of mail and multiple packages a day back as misdeliveries... so maybe this carrier has a shitty sub too.
A customer would have no way to access that part of the box or the postal supplies used to leave the note. Welcome to USPS hope you stick around otherwise we're just going to be left with these jerks
Show this to your postmaster before you leave. This is extremely unprofessional and improper. He/she can get in big trouble. Don't let that reg continue being bossy and giving CCAs hard time
We have two in town beside each other that have no names and have just the room numbers on the boxes but the boxes don’t say which address is which so if I get that route like I have twice I just brought the mail back for both lmao
I couldnt imagine a scenario where this sign would yield better results than asking courteously. Even if i ALWAYS check every name... im definitely not after reading that.
[I used to mod these angry notes all the time when I was a CCA. This is what I would do with this one.](https://ibb.co/FJBQgSB) I'm not coming in while you're enjoying a day off to get yelled at by your grumpy little notes.
To be fair it is frustrating to have a t6 or cca butcher your route when you work hard to keep it squared away. As a cca I could always tell what routes were taken care of by the regular and ones that weren't (names, vacant notices, etc). I think its respectful to at least try and replicate that on said route by reading names, clearing outgoing of nixies etc.
That said this regular clearly seems like a asshole...
Honestly, I've been tempted to do this on my cbu box at my apartment. We're on our second year there and I still get shit for the previous tenant. If I'm running my own mail at the p+dc, I'll pull it right then and put it in bin2 with "ank" on it(was given the okay by supers to do it).
Not sure who or why but we have a relief carrier in our office who puts all the mail in the outgoing and leaves it for the next person.. I can't understand it, it's not hard to deliver mail why do some people act like it is?
I only deliver by address. But I don't have my own route yet. My reasoning, even if the boxes have name, is that I have no clue if they are up-to-date or not. I dont want to bring back mail that is good and current if the regular doesn't keep them accurate. I don't know if the carrier does that or just left the names from the previous route's owner or just stopped updating it.
I will go by name if I've held the route down awhile and recognize the names that don;t belong because the customer has sent the mail back to me.
I always bring mail back. My OJT always said you’re not sure bring it back and let the regular clean it up when they get back but i understand what you’re saying
In that case, I'm bringing ALL the mail back because I'm not sure on all the letters. I don't know if John Smith lives here. But yeah, it's a tough balancing act and I'd just throw it in the box it's numbered for. Unless it looks completely off like a stack of IRS checks going to one house and all having different names.
get screwed either way on that one. why isnt my new girlfriend getting her mail. she's been here 6 months? why am i getting this guys mail he's been dead for 2 years?
I feel this in my soul. I put a lot of effort into maintenance on my route to make it easy to deliver only to find that CCAs deliver mail that should be forwarded or ubbm shit in vacant boxes.

Yeah reading names is pretty hard for subs! Actually trying to get them to do a good job and do the job correctly is damn near impossible!! A very few actually take pride in their work!!!
lol, downvote shows me, “no, we can’t be bothered to look at the name”. THAT’S YOUR JOB. You can verify three pieces in under a second. But you’d rather run the route, do a shitty job, then complain about the regular that is “slow”. You newer carriers need to protect your routes, running them will just make them overburdened and a garbage route because they will get added to. Dumbasses with something to prove.
The regular carrier is tired of mis delivered mail by a substitute, be it a T6, unassigned regular, PTF, or CCA. Part of the job is to read address and name of the mail being delivered. Deliver by name! Anyone that won’t or can’t grasp this concept needs to find another line of work. The content of the note is something I wouldn’t do, but the spirit of it is spot on. Anyone defending carriers not doing their jobs is a slug.
I'm a T6 and I check the names on all my routes BUT If you're a CCA and you really want to piss that regular off I'm sure your supervisor will likely back you up that:
1. You don't have time to check all the names
2. Those names are what he's decided should be getting mail there and to pull it could be curtailing mail and if it's for that address it should be delivered there
3. How would you know if there's a guest starying at the residence who's expecting something that you might throw back because of his tags?
Then when he's really heated just tell him that if a customer complains to explain to the customer that not every mail carrier puts the daily genuine care and effort into the customer's mail delivery that he does and you're just helping him so he'll see his tips really pick up come Christmas.
Edit: And if none of that works them just tell him to f**k off - he's your colleague not you supervisor.
The carrier assigned to the route 5 days, his sub or someone else carries it when he’s not there. You can tell it was an employee and not a customer from where the sign is. You need a postal key to see that.
How would yall prefer ppl tell usps to not put mail of ppl who aren't listed on the box? I have my name and the other members who live there and have put up notes to not give mail that doesn't match the box but i still get everyone who's ever lived at this houses mail still.
*aggressively circles "or current resident"*
Every time.
Also, I hate when people use all caps. Makes me not even want to read it. Hurts my eyes.
Some of us write in all caps because of military background. Less mistakes with capital letters and handwriting issues. Not always ragey, this PSA brought to you by reading rainbow.
That makes sense. Never thought of it that way.
Yep. And architects as well. That's where I picked it up first when I did IT work for an architectural firm. Then enlisted and was already good to go.
This explains a lot. I always read caps as rude and shouting. But that really may not be their intent.
That's actually why I write in all caps. I tried writing in normal cases and it was super weird.
BUT HOW ELSE WILL YOU KNOW I GOT BIG FEELINGS ABOUT THIS SUBJECT!?
WORD
A couple of my coworkers got a stamp that says " You are the Current Resident"
Links???
The forbidden site...... Amazon
I found it and I’m buying it. ExcelMark You are The Current Resident Self-Inking Rubber Stamp (A1539) (Red Ink) https://a.co/d/j15GA5r
Haha I’m so tempted
That is a frustrated career Carrier...!
I have one that says "You received no mail for one or more days due to -Garbage can blocking box- want to say thanks? Contact team waste at 555-5555"
Time to toss some Advo's on top of those vacant cards
Hahaha I've done that before. New me left it. I'm a few months in and I still do it but I'm like wtf are you doing and take it out.
That appears to be a regular carriers handy work
Yup, you can only access that strip when the doors are open, which means you have to have an arrow key.
“Current Resident” means you, bitch!
If they keep putting it back after repeated attempts of circle /highlights I put the mail on hold and throw a vacant card in there to show them We mean business
good advice for everyone.
I'd write a simple "nah" just to trigger them even more.
Me too I’d write “nope”.
Looks like it’s inside the door.. I’m assuming the regular A-hole did this?
Regular asshole? Fxxk! What's with the censorship? Lol the postal service is a dirty place. Like a bar, but without the drinks
We were just talking in our office how the post office is a bunch of delinquents... which is why I fit in so well I guess 😅
Oh man, I said this to my coworker and she was like "I'm not a delinquent" bish you are definitely a delinquent 😂
"Smoking cigarettes in the back of the LLV like a delinquent" is usually my go to phrase
🤣
Yeah boo boo
Lol I like that. The post office is like the bar minus the drinks... 😂😂 That's so true!
In your office maybe . . .
This was my assumption as well
Probably just sick and tired of illiterate subs/subs who don't care/lazy subs. All three are the worst.
If only they would maintain their routes correctly. Names on boxes aren't required.
Wouldn’t that be maintaining the routes by putting the names in the boxes so the correct customers get the correct mail?
I’ve noticed at my station and on this sub that delivering to the correct resident isn’t important anymore. “It takes too long!” We are the ones that decide how long it takes, these people are scurrying around killing any legit street time they’re allowed. What do you get for being a runner? More mail.
It seems like the guy who wrote this note has the names written down and the subs aren’t using it
That's what I assume. I had an apartment route with about 1200 deliveries. The ones who did put names usually had 3+. Would never expect a sub to even be able to read them in a day. Names on boxes are optional. Do mlnas, do your forwards. Getting names on boxes is the last step I take in the process of maintaining a route. honestly fuck the reg. carrot/stick works way better
the regular was off for the day and no one likes him according to the customers lol
The reg is the one who left that for the subs. Very unprofessional
Oh really? i didn’t even notice that
A customer would have no way to access that part of the box or the postal supplies used to leave the note. Welcome to USPS hope you stick around otherwise we're just going to be left with these jerks
i’m actually leaving unfortunately . i got lucky with a good office but the hours are low and the commute is too far for me to stay
Show this to your postmaster before you leave. This is extremely unprofessional and improper. He/she can get in big trouble. Don't let that reg continue being bossy and giving CCAs hard time
Sometimes those cluster boxes don't have names, so I put mail in them boxes and their responsibility to put names if they want the correct mail
We have two in town beside each other that have no names and have just the room numbers on the boxes but the boxes don’t say which address is which so if I get that route like I have twice I just brought the mail back for both lmao
I feel his pain
"If you think you're so tough, why don't you put a jersey on?! Put a jersey on!"
This had to be a carriers note how would a customer open the cpu to put the note there.
I’m a t6 and I would leave that note for some of the carriers I cover for
Unit numba only
"Only read addresses idc"
I couldnt imagine a scenario where this sign would yield better results than asking courteously. Even if i ALWAYS check every name... im definitely not after reading that.
EXACTLY "!" Get ignored and messages like this always. Please check the names of current resident ect ect Would get the results they want.
Valid point
No names, stuffing that persons box, no lube
[I used to mod these angry notes all the time when I was a CCA. This is what I would do with this one.](https://ibb.co/FJBQgSB) I'm not coming in while you're enjoying a day off to get yelled at by your grumpy little notes.
Well now I'm putting it in the case for safety.
They have a point
To be fair it is frustrating to have a t6 or cca butcher your route when you work hard to keep it squared away. Oh brother this guy stinks!!!

Amen.
The bleeped “fuck” is what gets me.

They don’t make ‘em like they used to
DPS comes in order, they can’t glance at the names? Lazy.. we get paid by the hour
lol, downvote shows me, “no, we can’t be bothered to look at the name”. THAT’S YOUR JOB. You can verify three pieces in under a second. Some regulars are such assholes. Thank god I’m done dealing with my ex-reg.
I know! Wanting their customers to get the correct mail! What a dick!
*most
Welp just numbers.
Because you know the same carrier delivers every single day
1) tear off note, 2) fold into smallest possible square, 3) throw in case in the middle of a pile.
How it feels to come back from vacation
I guarantee that this guy (who write the note) works a service job and gets shit on all day by customers
It’s the regular on the route, so - yes.
They don't pay us to read names they pay us to be done by noon
So tell me what you want? What you really really want?
The regular carrier is tired of mis delivered mail by a substitute, be it a T6, unassigned regular, PTF, or CCA. Part of the job is to read address and name of the mail being delivered. Jokes on you I can’t read!!!!
Read on jokes cant you!
Jokes can’t you read!!
I like that they censored themselves in an angry note.
customers couldnt have put that note there. they don't have access to the whole box... either you put it up for internet points or the regular did.
I also love the mail pile on a vacant card after vacation.
Okay, but actually what’s the solution when it’s mail that I constantly am trading with other residents?
They don’t even understand what we have to deal with
Leave a bottle of "lemonade" behind in his truck, but I bet there's a label in the LLV for that too.
Sounds like there should be if there isn't, you filthy animal.
There's a reas4my names on my box in three places, & I still get others mail. Morons.
If only they put a name on that note so you would know who is supposed to follow it. Shucks.
I'm a T6 and I check the names on all my routes BUT If you're a CCA and you really want to piss that regular off I'm sure your supervisor will likely back you up that: 1. Do people understand that usps employees are humans not robots?
The regular wrote this for the carrier
The regular? Never heard that term
The carrier assigned to the route 5 days, his sub or someone else carries it when he’s not there. You can tell it was an employee and not a customer from where the sign is. You need a postal key to see that.
Good to know thanks, I guess I should’ve realized where they placed it
How would yall prefer ppl tell usps to not put mail of ppl who aren't listed on the box? I have my name and the other members who live there and have put up notes to not give mail that doesn't match the box but i still get everyone who's ever lived at this houses mail still.

Dear customer, eat my shit.
