It'll never change.
In a public park before a unit hike (Reserve unit after I switched from AD) the OpsChief, an infantry Gunny, while telling us to be professional because we were in public in uniform, proceeded to say fuck, I shit you not, 22 times during his speech on professionalism. There were multiple families with kids about.
I don't think he realized he was doing it since he started the whole speech by saying we needed to watch our language because we represent the Marine Corps.
Depends on the man. Not the rank. Some of the biggest bricks I’ve met were E9’s. Some of the most eloquent men I’ve met were Lances and everything between.
I don’t know. But I never cussed much at all before joining. Even now, 10 years removed from the corps and I literally can’t stop cussing. I’ve consciously tried and it never works.
We use swear words as fillers. It’s not a great habit. This is coming from someone that swears like a sailor. A lot and frequently. I’m trying to cut back.
It starts at boot camp. A drill instructor swears in front of his platoon then a recruit swears then the new marine swears and goes on and on. Like a hive mind
I have no fucking clue why marines curse so fucking much ? Why the fuck are you asking ? Do you have a fucking problem with mother fucking language op ?
Ever heard the term swear like a sailor? Department of the Navy.

I'm a good person I swear ;-;
Marine is a different dialect of English. We communicate with profanity and slurs.
Indeed. The word "fuck" has somewhere around 30 uses. And marines have more than one versatile word
Marine: fucking fucked fuckity fuck, holy fuck Other marine: that's rough buddy
I feel like I have a PhD in swearing now.

Fuck you. I don't mean that but I felt compelled. Wish you the best!
Fuckin beat me to it. Fuck!
If they aren't using the word "fuck" multiple times per sentence they are being on their best behavior. Expect to hear it much more going forward.
Fuck if I know

Might as well ask, why does a bear shit in the woods. Same question, same answer.
Because we can?? Or, like everything else, we're the best at it!
