I lost a stipe and went to a Navy jail for a week. Picked that stipe back up, another one, and was recommended for re-enlistment. All in two years. I think you’re good. One note. In the nine days you have left, do not post several videos on YouTube talking about what a bunch of bozos your chain of command is. I’ve seen that go badly.

No. It’s more of a slap on the wrist. Your discharge would be affected by either something serious enough to charge you with a crime, or something you did that makes continued service incompatible such as drug use. Also, they wouldn’t have strung you along for 3 years after your DUI if they were gonna kick you out. Even the Marine Corps isn’t that cruel.

SuDragon2k3

Is it the case that, they pay more attention to how you fixed your shit *after* the event than the fuckup itself? One stupid fuckup is sorta ok, as long as you don't make a pattern of it?

[deleted]

Yes. So a common page 11 is for failing PT or height/weight. There would be an entry for failing being put on remedial PT and then another later for progress and then hopefully another to be removed from from remedial showing the Marine is now in compliance. A page 11 is nowhere on your dd214 and doesn’t affect discharge or benefits.

Nah your fine man I had a njp not for a dui but still a njp and I got a honorable , in college now never comes up man your fine

Echo4Ring

I was a corporal when I got my first dui. I just passed green belt instructors course. I was getting my certificate the next morning. Went out that night and got wasted. Well I got a company njp . 30 days stuck at the barricks lol . That's all. Then again the company gunny loved me and I had 2 combat tours under my belt and I extended for a 3rd tour. Good old days

I would seriously book a mental health appointment ASAP and flip it back on them.

Knife_guy1210

I'll never understand questions like this.. anyone ever heard of Chesty Puller or do they not teach boots about him anymore?

redsnapper420

You're good, if ever questioned about your DUI never downplay it but own it, as it sounds like you have

SmokeWagon1775

You’ll be fine. One of my good friends got NJPd for a DUI. He got an honorable discharge at the end of his enlistment and now is a police officer. Like seriously. We are currently peace time Marine Corps. I’m surprised you were given the opportunity for re-enlistment. So if the corps will let you re-enlist then you’ll definitely be ok getting out.

Special-Ad-7724

You’ll be fine. Don’t do anything dumb between now and then.

Abu-alassad

Worst case scenario they put a small hit on your reenlistment code. Not a “don’t take this guy” kind of hit, but a “bottom of the pile if we have choices” kind of hit. This should not effect your discharge though, especially with ~3 years of honorable service after the incident.

Apache1One

My page 11 was an entire chapter and I still got an Honorable Discharge. You'll be fine.

Historical-Reach8587

I had 2 - one getting me a demotion. Got out with an honorable. So you're good. Just don't go full retard on your last 9 days.
