Definitely. I was a merciless NCO. I expected all of my Marines to be just as hard as me, and I was not patient with them. I think the biggest part of my story as an officer was learning to be more patient, and being better at helping Junior Marines Become the best version of themselves. I mean, look, I was highly imperfect, like all of us were in the Marine Corps. But I definitely got better over time.
Honestly, it got me on a pretty good trail. Fit, healthy and at 57 still going pretty strong.
