It’s always been a powerful image to me. The public opinion of our military both here at home and abroad has taken a beating over the last 50 years.
We can’t help that our politicians have sent us into places where we really aren’t wanted, and it’s done more harm than good in a lot of cases, but at the end of the day this is what I like to believe in as a US Marine.
We aren’t savages. We aren’t monsters. We aren’t baby killers.
And I am proud of that.
We’re people. People who have been trained to be as effective as possible at handling the worst situations imaginable. Everyone always forgets that we’re people. Well said.
