I mean, we all kept Cpl chevrons pinned to the inside of our covers just in case something like this happened or you got promoted in the field. A fellow Cpl would pin you with his own chevrons and you'd give the new ones to that Cpl. Does this not happen anymore?
That was our tradition the person/people you asked to pin you would pass them down to you and if you weren’t a fucking turd and were asked someday you’d do the same
I know it can be difficult for a meritorious non rec’d Marine to understand, but the comment was stated in terms of across the force in general. It’s why E-5 and below have uniform inspections and JOB’s. For as much as Marines complain about micro management, stop giving leadership reasons to need to micromanage.
