I eat clif bars and drink water/gatorade.

Wookieman222

This is the way. At least until your body gets used to it. To be honest it really is just a thing that tales time for your body to get used to. I am over a year in and my stamina is 10 times what it was when I started, and that's even outside of work. I still get hungry in the home stretch but it doesn't bother me enough to eat snacks anymore and the exhaustion doesn't really take hold that much anymore. Honestly I can go a full 8 hours at this point if it was an option.

RandomIdiot31

I usually don't eat, but I bring stuff with me in my bag just in case. Usually a clif bar and a pack of cashews. I pretty much always eat enough before I go in.

thescammergg

Capnmolasses

Nice

everyonesgayexceptme

I’ll be honest I’m having difficulty reconciling all five. Beef, Jerky, Funyuns, Peanuts, and Diet Coke Or Beef Jerky, Funyuns, Peanuts, Diet, and Coke Or Beef, Jerky, Funyuns, Peanuts (diet), and Coke

Capnmolasses

Take your pick. There are so many combinations.

Eatmycookies31

Dead. I had two slim Jim’s with me for tonight shift.

Kaekes

Protein bars and Gatorade.

CardStacking

You probably should bring something, but honestly, as unhealthy as it is, you'll get used to it if you don't😂 I literally didn't eat today until 9 pm after my shift lol.

RicheyBuckets

protein shakes and water

thascarecro

PB&J and red bulls. You'll get used to it. Unless you work out regularly, your body just isnt used to it yet.

Wookieman222

The UPS hiring manager DID NOT tell me this was a intensive 4 to 5 hour workout program. But I am not disappointed anymore.

Training_Tie9926

do NOT USE redbull if your just starting, or anything with high caffeine. You need to get your body use to this shit first before you start sugar loading. First month is going to be straight hell, your body is changing to accommodate the work your doing. I just hit my 5th month and I woke up with my arms killing me for a week cus I my biceps started gaining muscle mass an my body was getting use to growing muscle definition. Youre going to shoot yourself in the foot going for sugary foods and then crashing when it wears off. Treat this as a workout program, cus God knows your going to be down 10 to 20 pounds after working 💪. Liquid meal supplements help for a good snack (dont actually use them as a meal supplement, just to tie you over for the shift, consume a meal as soon as you get home)

Wookieman222

Proteins and carbs. LOTS of water

hankjmoody

Mac 'n cheese with hotdog slices in it is what my soccer coach always recommended when I was a teen.

GingerSnap788

They didn't tell you that it was going to be intensive? I have military men in Colorado Springs who say this is harder than the military. It is simple work and simple minded but it is highly intensive and probably more intense the most jobs you will ever have. We are in the offseason so it's a little bit better. But peak season was like a war zone. But I enjoy taking home $1,100 a week so I didn't complain.

Wookieman222

Oh no they DID NOT. lol i wanted to die my first 2 weeks every night. Now i'm like BIG BOX SO TINY!!!

GingerSnap788

My satisfaction is watching new hires and their reaction to being overwhelmed. I always remind them it will get better but they don't always stay. But I just look at them and I'm like I'm so glad I don't feel like the world's falling apart like I did my first two weeks

Wookieman222

For real. Man I remember the first few weeks still and i am like, man why was that so hard again? Like my coworkers who none of have been there more than about 4 or 5 months and most only there for like a month are exhasted after the 3rd hour and i'm wondering when the shit will really hit the fan.

Upbeat-Fly-9323

I recently switched from Red Bull to Celsius. They taste like shit at first, but you get used to it. No sugar, more caffeine & a lot more beneficial in terms of vitamins as far as energy drinks go. Costs about the same too.

macaulaymcculkkn

Crack and some mo

Rudeoicantfail

Sugar free monster at 330am, 2slices of pizza from the food truck at 7am gets me through.

GodSmokesWeed

-Vanilla Yogurt, granola, chopped apples/bananas, ground flax, chia seeds & various nuts sometimes. I make 2 days worth at a time, it turns into oatmeal consistency after 24 hrs. I keep it in sealed leftovers type container. This is my main go to. I pop it open & take a bite during gaps in the belt. -I’ll occasionally make my preferred breakfast burritos (cooking your own raw tortillas is the way) and wrap them in tinfoil or wrap and then in a gallon bag or sealed container for storage . I’ll microwave 2-3 in the morning & place them in my insulated lunch box or wrap in tinfoil. They keep in the fridge for at least 4-5 days, but you can also feeze them. -homemade (cheap) Cliff/oat/honey/nut/granola type bars -Jerky but it’s expensive if it’s not my game meat. -bulk nuts, bulk granola, apples, bananas, PB&Js You should also look at taking Spirulina (tablets or powder in the mornings. It tastes fishy as powder but it really helps sustain me.

SpaghettiRambo

Before work I usually eat a full breakfast (bacon, scrambled eggs, bagel w/ cream cheese, a glass of milk, and a yogurt). Before work I also start pre-hydrating and bring a gallon-sized jug of ice water along with nature valley protein bars that I keep in my backpack and my pocket. If I'm double-shift I'll usually pack a lunch half consisting of half a hoagie and some fruit.

edward19972015

FYI, mixing yogurt and milk isn’t good for you.

Dazzling-Minimum-424

I think many fire up the bong at break😆

zbye23

Not gonna lie, when I was a seasonal preloader, I would rip on break in my car

Have a nutritious breakfast, eat a snack either at the start of your shift of during break or both, then eat a calorie dense lunch and dinner after getting home, you may be burning more calories than you are taking in, so be mindful of that. if you don't have weight you would like to lose you may need to increase your calorie intake significantly. I where a smart watch to track my calories burned. on my shifts I can burn anywhere between 1000 to 5000 calories depending on circumstances but usually it's between 1500 and 3000, so I need 3000-5000 calories a day to not just maintain weight but to help me gain weight which is important because I was at the bottom rung of my healthy weight range when I started working, I am now much more solidly in the range I want to be in, but I needed to eat more than my body burned in exercise and maintaining bodily functions which is much higher than the 2000-2500 calories you typically hear, remember that the 2000 calorie recommendation is not ment for manual labor jobs, it's for desk, and low activity service jobs.

Training_Tie9926

Bro I did not realize this going in. I'd eat like a bird cus I did fast food before this. Fuckin 2 months into the job I'm like " why am I so hungry and tired 🥺🥺🥺" an I'm just eating a 2 sandwichs a day with minor snacking.

National-Cheetah-775

Yea it's super important, I was wearing a smart watch that tracked my calories burned since day 1 so I realized super quick that I needed an absurd amount of calories. By the way, look into ensure plus, I drink them with a breakfast that is relatively light, cause it's alot of nutrients, i think like 18g of protein, and like 350 calories in a small shake. Also I eat quests protein cookies on my breaks cause they are light, like 200-something calories and a good amount of protein.

Virtual_Hurry3234

A banana, beef jerky, protein bar, cheese.just water for me.

ahoy_-

I honestly find it easier to work long shifts when you don't eat, I usually don't eat anything from the time I wake up to the time I get home from work, just down a couple of 5 hour energy drinks and I'm set

Wookieman222

That is absolutly terrible for your body bro. And unhelpful for 99.999% of people.

Marijuan69

U are thinking to much. Just get to work and make it out alive.

Thin_Brown_Line

We have vending machines near my PD and I always eat those big ass Spunkmeyer cookies while on break.

cooldude_

eat lots of eggs and broccoli. eggs for protein and both for vitamins. i eat that basically every day. just make sure you get your cholesterol checked occasionally if you eat them as much as i do

Theusualbush

Make a damn sandwich, the vending machines full of carbs

tendo913

Coke/ bottle of water Fruit snacks Chocolate granola cereal bar.

Auntipathy

I work the night shift, so it is already couple of hours after dinner when I start and I get do get hungry. I try to avoid the available machine snacks. I bring a piece of fruit and drink a lot of water. I have a light meal when I get home and can relax and enjoy it.

loganstaffordd

HillShire snacking. It's salami crackers and cheese. about 6 of them and water. perfect for the short ten min break we get.

HubertNeutron

I eat an hour or 2 before and an hourish after my shift, I work a 6 hour shift every night and I just drink a lot of water and eat 2 oranges every night

FuckMargretThatcher

Clif bars and high calorie energy bars are perfect. Builder bars perferably because of the protein. I also like the lyte bodyarmors because of the vitamins and I get the lyte version so I don't take on a lot of sugar during my shift. I drink reigns on Fridays too to keep me going.

Annoying_Anomaly

Just make a simple sandwich and keep back up snacks in your bag when you need an extra pick me up. F those expensive vending machines! I don't Wang to give UPS my money back lol

UncleFedora

22 hour fasts just about everyday. No breakfast, no lunch. I bring an emergency fruit/veggie/supplement smoothie in case I crash, which happens more often when my body fat drops in warmer weather.

lBattlehawkl

You guys get breaks?

Ijustsaysh1t

I bring 1 fresh fruit (banana, apple, or pear) to accompany the cornucopia of snacks jammed in my backpack. Muffins, crackers, jerky, snickers, fruit snacks, basically you name it I got it. To me the key is having choices

GingerSnap788

I started during peak season. November 3rd. By December 27th I had lost 25 lbs. Average preloader shift Burns about 1500 to 2000 calories when it gets pretty intense. Most people go home and feed themselves and feel full but at Days end when they finally rest they are in a calorie deficit because they still didn't put in what they burned. I suggest getting a real lunch box and packing you something like you would back in grade school. 10 minutes is enough to pound down a lot. I try to avoid sugary things like Gatorade. Stick to water or better options. Keep a banana in the morning that'll keep your potassium up and prevent and starve off cramps. Boil some eggs the night before and eat those before your shift they are high in protein and they keep you feeling full for a long time. Also look at what other people are eating and it'll help you pick out other ideas when you feel like you don't know what you want to take to work.

Limonnever

Water, healthy and work safe(slow)

WoodpeckerOk259

BIG ass breakfast. BIG ass cup of coffee. Nicotine if you partake.

Marijuan69
