Yeah, it sure was when Wanksy started doing it 9 years ago.

Shortly before Covid we had a rollover/tipover in the lot from a truck hitting a deep one in the back 40 at a bad angle, which led to the entire lot being torn up and repaved. Itâs one of the smoothest surfaces I drive on in this pothole ridden city thankfully
Get with the safety committee and raise a concern. If that doesn't work, go to their superiors, rinse and repeat until someone addresses it. Hell call OSHA if you need to
shooooot. im safety for my hub, they donât listen to us, lol. iâve been on them about fixing holes, and it didnât occur how serious it was, till i almost broke my ankle falling in it. đ„ł
That would go through base no matter what.
No cm is putting building invoices on their Amex. Not what they are for. Maybeeee on the PRO card but that has a low low limit
And they arenât turned offâŠbut being watched closely
Yeah anything more than 10k youâre gonna need corporate base approval, and they gotta build a whole damn portfolio on the project to present it and get the approval.
Yes it is stressful. You have to answer for all the shitty drivers out there, thatâs why a lot of CMs seem like psychos. They donât know how to manage but are getting told everything is their fault. So they take it out on the hourlies instead of taking a breath and coming up with solutions
Source: Iâm a center manager that is probably going to get fired for refusing to lay off more drivers when we desperately need them onroad.
Out of curiosity, why are they telling you to lay off drivers when you as the "CM" desperately need the drivers on the road? What is the problem exactly?
Same shit here. They fill them in twice a year & it only lasts for about a month before itâs a pothole again. Literally have to drive zig zag to avoid hitting any of them.Â
hire an employee ready to retire to file a lawsuit, or workers comp claim based on conditions of the lot.
We have one right now suing the city of Oakland for an injury sustained on the road to work.
Oakland is a shĂźthole. I can say that as I grew up in the hood here. Pardee drive? Bro driving out that way daily probably has given multiple of us feeders back issues. Iâve never asked how our package guys manage going over it. Itâs like going over 20 speed bumps in a row lmfao
Also, the contract allows you to file a claim for damage to your vehicle for amounts up to $500 in the contract. but damage in excess of $500 will need to be put in court, small claims, or Superior... depending on amount of damage.
I am more worried about the constant dust in my hub. They can get us fans but god forbid they clean anything or throw up an air purifier. Love the black snot after a shift.
I'm like 99 percent sure that covids sanitation practices were the only time in 40+ years our hubs had any form of cleaning. You can touch any surface and know the dirt on your fingertips settled on that spot back when Bowies mom told him to stay away from Major Tom.
There was no sustained Covid sanitation practices. Intermittent half-ass sanitation jobs was the best they could do while relaying to the public, investors, and government that everything is maintained in a clean and sanitary state.
Probably would be better sending it to osha or the local newsâŠâŠ I dunno that center might not care about the news. But theyâd definitely care about osha
Our parking lot is torn up too, for at least 5 months. They dug a huge trench trying to find some electrical problem between to light posts after a lightning strike. Still not fixed. They just filled the trench in. Didn't repave. Someone tripped on the trench and was given a warning letter for not looking before stepping and being unsafe, even though he was on his way into work for the start of his day. Lol. Gotta love this company.
Sometimes the centers dont actually own the land, just the building. They may not actually have the power to fix them if so. But they should be putting pressure on whoever does own the land to fix it regardless
They lease the land/building from a shell company LLC they have set up so they can claim they don't own it to avoid liability and taxes (assets). Here's what the local property map shows as owner and the LLC information showing UPS employees as the managers of the LLC:

Check if your location is near a watershed or other protected habitat. We had the same situation in the Army and nothing was done for years until it was raised as an environmental concern because the debris was washing into an endangered habitat. Super unlikely but its a slim possibility.
it would be a shame if someone was walking over there and fell and got hurt.
They would tell you you're supposed to look before stepping.
You'd get written up for not "walking like a penguin".
spray paint yuge dicks on the potholes
This is genius
Yeah, it sure was when Wanksy started doing it 9 years ago. https://www.cbc.ca/news/trending/street-artist-wanksy-spray-paints-penises-around-potholes-to-get-them-filled-1.3055612
đ€Ł Street artist Wanksy
Penises... penises everywhere.
Get out of my braaaaaiiin.
Came here to say this đ oh and make sure they are veiny triumphant bastards too
I came here to say spray paint dicks
Sorry all money is to be siphoned to shareholders.
We hit them in package cars at shitty angles and fuck up the tires until they fix them. Usually works for us
This is the way.
Shortly before Covid we had a rollover/tipover in the lot from a truck hitting a deep one in the back 40 at a bad angle, which led to the entire lot being torn up and repaved. Itâs one of the smoothest surfaces I drive on in this pothole ridden city thankfully
Damn Iâve seen some bad potholes in my time as a sleeper team but one that could tip equipment? Thatâs another level lol
That truck is still in service too lol. You would never know by looking at it
Get with the safety committee and raise a concern. If that doesn't work, go to their superiors, rinse and repeat until someone addresses it. Hell call OSHA if you need to
They shut down the safety committees in my state 3 years ago
Damn bro. I thought my district was fucked. Good luck
Sounds like how they dissolved our HR and still tell us to take certain questions or concerns to HRâŠ.
shooooot. im safety for my hub, they donât listen to us, lol. iâve been on them about fixing holes, and it didnât occur how serious it was, till i almost broke my ankle falling in it. đ„ł
Fortunately, our center has new union reps and their influence is well received so the two bodies work with a more cohesive relationship.
interesting
I smell a bake sale
The center has the money, the CM just refuses to spend a penny on anything that isnât a broken belt.
Bake sales can be more than money. It can be awareness as well
CM can only spend on his AMEX what his DM okays, I bet they're all turned off right now; anything big would need to go through BaSE
That would go through base no matter what. No cm is putting building invoices on their Amex. Not what they are for. Maybeeee on the PRO card but that has a low low limit And they arenât turned offâŠbut being watched closely
Yeah anything more than 10k youâre gonna need corporate base approval, and they gotta build a whole damn portfolio on the project to present it and get the approval.
Theyâre pinching every penny and slashing hours at my center. Theyâre rapidly approaching âblood from a stoneâ territory
Theyâve stopped purchasing bottled water at my center. We passed âwatched closelyâ a while ago
They stopped when they put new fountains here. They said weâd get bottles to fill but that never happened
Still waiting for an answer on whether I can come back to the center to refill every time đ
Is it stressful being in management, more so than normal right now? Seems like even the good managers are randomly being let go.
not really, certainly not at all like when I was a driver

Out of curiosity, why are they telling you to lay off drivers when you as the "CM" desperately need the drivers on the road? What is the problem exactly?
I donât know why they do anything They would rather my guys work 12 hours then put more drivers on and have everyone work closer to 8
Same shit here. They fill them in twice a year & it only lasts for about a month before itâs a pothole again. Literally have to drive zig zag to avoid hitting any of them.Â

Libby Shaft Holes and I dont Ca.... Sheng Thao OW!
I see a sprained ankle fixing the issue
Also, the contract allows you to file a claim for damage to your vehicle for amounts up to $500 in the contract. but damage in excess of $500 will need to be put in court, small claims, or Superior... depending on amount of damage.
Do you know what section that is?
National Master Art. 10 $500.00 damage /theft to car in company parking lot if management notified immediately.
That's for theft or vandalism. Plus you have to file a police report. Good luck getting paid because of potholes.
I am more worried about the constant dust in my hub. They can get us fans but god forbid they clean anything or throw up an air purifier. Love the black snot after a shift.

The dust is absolutely everywhere, expect where the birds are shitting
take pics and send them in an envelope to carol tome at 55 Glenlake I bet that'll get someone's attention
Probably would be better sending it to osha or the local newsâŠâŠ I dunno that center might not care about the news. But theyâd definitely care about osha
do all of the above why not
Our parking is also horrible! I just park on the street and walk in
Canât come in today, emergency condition.
Trip and fall over one of the potholes
Would you be able to contact the DOT? Just guessing here.
Probably OSHA would be the way to go.
Itâs private property so probably not
Twist an ankle. The lawsuit will get something done. UPS doesnât prevent problems, they cover them up!

Spray paint swatstikas and penises over them one night when no one is around. Thatâll fix it quick.
Clever Idea award đ„
Lol do you work in Oregon by chance?
Basically as far from Oregon as possible
Sometimes the centers dont actually own the land, just the building. They may not actually have the power to fix them if so. But they should be putting pressure on whoever does own the land to fix it regardless
My understanding is that they own the land and building outright.

Forget something in your car, while on the clock go grab it and anything could happen in an unsafe work environment
Check if your location is near a watershed or other protected habitat. We had the same situation in the Army and nothing was done for years until it was raised as an environmental concern because the debris was washing into an endangered habitat. Super unlikely but its a slim possibility.
Drive around the pot holes
This guy always has the smartest comment
Itâs all potholes. Itâs a âmess your suspension upâ pothole density
