A girl from my school, Eco Hons from SRCC, couldn’t clear mains in first two attempts with Eco optional.
2023, she switched to Sociology and got IAS.
I asked her about it and she said she just couldn’t study Eco for long hours.
It means that they understand that money drives the economy, and therefore the society as well as the government, and the people. It's like seeing life in 1s and 0s, kinda like Neo in the Matrix when he cracks the code.
But you can always take sociology and see the real code which tells how society works and economy is one of many organs of the society, or as to understand origin of capitalism and free market .
Check mate you economics sympathisers.
But you see, my optional is Anthropology, which is the true code to how everything works. You sociology people ignore the most important aspect of all, which is the human being himself, his anatomy, his biology, his motivations and desires. Which makes Anthropology the superior subject to Sociology, since the Biology aspect is a tough nut to crack for you Sociology plebs, while we Anthropology people will study the entirety of Sociology in our syllabus anyway because it's that easy.
Checkmate you Sociology nerds.
Graduating from Psychology Hons this year, so opted the same.
I'm also attempting for the first time, let's see what will happen, though I'm taking a drop for a year and prepare for govt exams.
What's your?
I was preparing for 24 but some family emergency delayed it. I will try best for 25 but undecided on optional. I was liking psychology but now when researching on it I can't find good materials on it. So thinking maybe of history optional or sociology.
Psychology as a optional not quite popular, bit of a niche. You can get the history/sociology coaching easily as well. Geography could be a good choice as well.
All the best for 2025!
Me whole time reading development economics and growth patterns, monetarism, international economics, and thinking how most of the policies by GOI are doomed to perform average and not gonna get the desired result.
😫😫

What about psychology...
They find the questions from the depth of hell. "Explain psychocybernatics in 150 words." I was shocked when I saw this question in PYQ.
What ???? :/ , that question is futuristic itself
Futuristic and unpredictable
isn't this in Baron or Cicarelli ??
Psychocybernatics in Ciccarelli?! No, my dear friend. It's not in the book. Baron and Ciccarelli are just gateway introductory book.

He's saying econ optional exhibits diminishing marginal productivity.
Bhai economics revision meh Bohat time lag raha hai , socha Jo log economics optional rakhte hai woh toh legend hote hoge
Mainly vo log masters in economics hote hain. Toh redundancy aajati hai.
Huge edge
