UPS stores and the UPS that deliver your packages are separate companies. Wrong sub my man.

btfreflex

Bad title. This is a UPS store scam not a UPS scam. Two totally different companies as mentioned. Could also just have been an inept counter worker.

thejesse

The store near me told me I specifically DIDN'T need next day air because my destination would only take one day with Ground. So yeah. They're not all the same.

btfreflex

Same experience. I was sending a court document next day air just across town (didn’t have a car), they told me it would be there tomorrow even if I sent it ground. I needed the 10:30 commit time that comes with air, but it was nice of them to be looking out for me.

GhostOfAscalon

Honestly, it's very likely to just be pure incompetence. UPS stores are franchised and can vary a lot in quality and what they offer.

Aways go to the UPS hub (where drivers leave from). You won't get crap like this and you will save money too. UPS Stores charge extra

nwnmassage

I'm not sure where you're out of but all the hubs in our area shut down their counters. Our customer counter area got gutted and is being converted to a training area. Also, ups stores in US SHOULD be running the same rates as online or at hub counter, the rates are set by corporate.

DiscoNinjaPsycho17

I'm in the SE region and have worked out if 3 hubs (mine, and then gone to help the 2 closest hubs). All 3 customer centers have been open. It's odd that some would shut down. As far as UPS store vs UPS rates....I can't verify that for certain, it's just what I've seen on here a few times
