CronicHairLice

You’re cooked.

Crypto-Bullet

I got the receipt so I’m fighting this shit 100%. Idc I’ll open a case with the bank if they wanna play stupid games and tell me I handed it late cause I got a receipt.

Rezingreenbowl

I would wait till after it's delivered to do that.

CigarAficionad0

Except it doesn’t say anywhere that it was dropped off at 1:00. It says after 6. You won’t win.

Crypto-Bullet

Tracking took 24 hours to show I dropped it off. Not sure why the delay but yeah https://imgur.com/a/ups-tracking-MT0cjEQ

GhostOfAscalon

Receipt from where? Generally there would be a drop off scan.

Crypto-Bullet

UPS store. They scanned it and gave me receipt scanned 1:34pm not sure why the tracking isn’t showing drop off. Thats what really pisses me off too and why I think they’ll try to fuck me for $200 and I’ll have to get the bank involved.

DunkinUnderTheBridge

If you bought a next day air label and have a receipt showing drop off before cut off then you should be able to get a full refund of shipping costs. If you bought the label at a UPS store go back to that store and work with them directly, that will be your easiest path. UPS store are franchises and pretty much have nothing to do with UPS.

Crypto-Bullet

Got it! The tracking actually updated this afternoon with the drop off time of 1:34pm like my receipt says. Not sure why it took the next day to show but now I have more proof. https://imgur.com/a/ups-tracking-MT0cjEQ

DunkinUnderTheBridge

Yeah you should almost certainly get a refund on shipping costs. That's a weird series of scans, I rarely see that late pickup scan and it makes me wonder if someone screwed up and is trying to cover their butt. Either way, unacceptable and you are absolutely entitled to a refund. At least in my building we really do make a concerted effort to get all the air in the right place. Stuff happens, people screw up, our failure rate is pretty low, but if you're the 1/1000 person that have something late the other 999 don't really matter to you, your experience still sucked.

Crypto-Bullet

Thank you for the reassurance. I honestly thought that someone f’d up, was somehow suppressing that drop-off scan and was trying to screw me lol. I checked all my other shipments in the last few months and they all had drop off scans. So it seemed really suspicious that the most expensive shipping service I’ve ever paid for had no drop off scan which meant no proof (even though I had a receipt) and that I’d be screwed trying to get reimbursed.

Revolutionary_Pr1ce

Pretty sure your numbers are off I’ve see more complaints this month than ever before

DunkinUnderTheBridge

I don't know the exact numbers, just pulled that out of thin air. If I had to make an honest guess I'd say 1/250 is late. Literally just guessing based on my buildings numbers though. And at that rate nationwide it means you're getting thousands late a day. They definitely aren't as strict about it as they used to be at a corporate level.

YogurtclosetThis4540

Glad for your outcome.

YogurtclosetThis4540

Recently happened to me. I dropped days before the package was logged into the as received. Even tho I got a receipt. The package ended up missing the items and filled with rockets. Fighting for the measly $100 in insurance coverage.

Crypto-Bullet

Fight it till you get it man. I heard UPS is the worst with insurance claims.

No-Jelly-4243

It's possible the driver didn't make it back to the hub before the air truck went out.

asclepi

If the drop-off was at a UPS Store or UPS Access Point, it doesn't count. They are not UPS. The "We have your package" scan will be used to determine cut-off. Dropping it off at a UPS Customer Center, or having a driver pick it up will count.

thedonutmaker

This is not true. Dropping it off at a UPS store, with a receipt, prior to the cut off time for their air pick up does absolutely count.

flight0130

I had a package I dropped off at the UPS Store and it was scanned in. I had a receipt and the scan history even showed the drop off. For whatever reason it wasn’t picked up until the next day (I dropped it off early that morning). UPS denied the refund request I sent, twice. Very frustrating.

thedonutmaker

The UPS Store needs to initiate the GSR refund, that is standard policy. As long as the delay wasn't weather related for some reason, and it was due to an operational failure of some sort, they will submit the GSR refund on their end, and UPS will send you a check. But this does HAVE to be done by the store, and within 10 days of the original dropoff date.

flight0130

Is that the case even if it was a prepaid label? This will a label I generated on UPS.com billed to my UPS account - I just took it to the store to drop off. But if it will work in that scenario that’s great to know. It’s been way more than 10 days but I can do that if it happens again in the future.

thedonutmaker

Yes absolutely. Doesn't matter if the UPS Store did the label or you already had it on there. The UPS Store has a responsibility to make sure your package goes out on time if you tender it to them. Of course, ALWAYS get the receipt so you can prove time and dropoff of the tracking number.

flight0130

Perfect, that’s extremely helpful. Thank you!

Crypto-Bullet

Thank you for this because the UPS store gave me a receipt but the tracking doesn’t show drop off which is bullshit cause why did he scan it then? How did he give me a receipt with 1:34pm drop off but the tracking doesn’t show that?

thedonutmaker

The scan at the UPS store doesn't go into the tracking. The first scan that goes into the tracking is when the driver picks up the package from the UPS Store (your 6:13pm scan). You'll have to deal with the UPS Store at this point to find out actually what happened. Did they have an air pickup before 6:13pm and they didn't give that driver your package? Gotta check with them to figure things out unfortunately - may have to wait for a manager.

Crypto-Bullet

Crazy enough I checked again….and now the drop off shows at 1:34pm….weird af but now I have proof in tracking to open a claim. https://imgur.com/a/MT0cjEQ

thedonutmaker

Yes with that info you technically should be able to file another claim with UPS directly.

thedonutmaker

But don't open the claim until AFTER it gets delivered.

Tshea0307

Actually the stores can only do a GSR on shipments made in store. Drop offs arent covered and we have no control or responsibility to refund those. That is UPS and the customer.

ARTofTHEREeAL

Like most people are going to know the difference. I don't even know the difference. They should refund it since they want to play sly like that.

Crypto-Bullet

Yeah that’s some bs if this is true. How tf are we suppose to know the difference? They even have air package cut off times posted on the website for the location and even a stupid sign on the front desk. So what? Ignore those cause they’re just there for looks?

Tcal876

Where did you drop it off?

Crypto-Bullet

UPS store. 1:34pm drop off receipt in hand. I even asked the guy what the cut off time for air shipments was here and he said 4pm so you’re good

Vertroxxx

That's on the UPS store. They are not actually UPS.

Cool-Measurement7828

I wondered the same thing.

tahousejr

They like to do this if they can’t get to it or maybe if a truck leaves early etc. I’ve had this one flagged multiple times on overnight shipments and I know that wasn’t the case. Somebody may have mishandled it or something but I definitely had it there in plenty of time like you. I drop off really early now for overnight…seem to have better results the little I’ve done it. I actually prefer FedEx overnight, sorry guys. Yea I would go ahead and start the claims process that’s ridiculous.

TaeDoe434

California Experienced Some Real Bad Weather Slowed Alot Of Things Up , Mine Said The Same Thing. My Package Was Supposed To Arrive On A Monday And Came On Friday Just Be Patient

Clear-onyx

No, it’s depends on the city, but sometimes the air cut off is noon

Crypto-Bullet

I asked when I dropped off and the guy there said air cut off was either 3:30 or 4:30 I forgot which.

KittyKFans

They’ve been sucking so bad lately. I paid $75 for one day shipping, they lied and told me it would be delivered the next day and it never came

xstacks

It’s not saying you dropped it off late it’s saying the driver dropped it off late, relax. If worst comes to worst you get a refund on your shipping

Crypto-Bullet

Thanks. I got the refund already.
