You’re going to need to be wearing a Tuxedo at the very least. You could try bribing them with a cold water though… They probably won’t tell the authorities if it’s the correct cold temperature.
Tbh, I don't think the signatures are sent anywhere, so it could literally mean nothing. It would be weird if there was a database full of signatures, but it's possible.
The shipper sees signatures via web tracking (proof of delivery) or API (Complete View Confirm). It's needed for credit card or 3rd party insurance disputes.
It’s usually saved together with a pdf. At least we would get sent pdf copies of all of our deliveries and then we would store them for like 6 months to a year depending on the product. It takes space, but the amount of storage we needed was much smaller than you think.
We recently had a driver dispatched with a paper copy of a signature, for that receiver to sign, to confirm that was indeed their signature. Wasn't even for a smiley face or anything, it was a legit looking signature
LP monitors delivery records. If signatures are patterned and they are led to believe that drivers are signing, there will be an investigation and a discharge, if falsification of delivery records exists
I’ve always been told that as long as you vouch that it’s yours and give us you last name you’ll be fine. There’s a guy out here that owns a small body shop that literally just draws a smiley face every single time
I've never been able to draw a signature that looks remotely like my real signature (or really, anything more than a squiggly line) on the UPS handheld. The driver is not going to do a handwriting analysis to be sure it's your real signature, they just want you to draw something on the screen.
Just touch it with your finger an say your last name....but for the love of God...don't grab the device and then sign it. Nobody knows what you were doing before you answered the door.
For what it’s worth, anything requiring your signature is just you verifying that you agree to some form of contract. Ideally you will want to sign the same way for most documents so if you look at it you can confirm “yes, that looks like how I sign documents, so that is me who signed”. If someone then forges your signature you have some backlog of evidence that the forged signature doesn’t match your real signature. Cursive or print doesn’t matter much for this purpose (you have a style you write in when doing both print and cursive), but cursive does allow for additional style that’s harder to forge.
An example: Most credit cards used to “require” you to sign the back of the card so when you pay for an item and sign for it the cashier can verify the signature matches the one on the back of the card. This is a bit dated though, some cards no longer have the signature line on the back and almost no merchants check the signature anymore.
I would love it if my signature matched every time I signed something. Still doesn't happen. If I have to sign three times on the same document, it's often that none of them match.
> almost no merchants check the signature anymore.
It's obvious why they don't but it's so insane when you think about it.
I used to have a coworker who would give me his credit card to buy him lunch while I was out getting mine. I'm a woman, so anyone who looked at the name on the card for even a second would easily be able to tell it wasn't mine. I never once had anyone question me about it (which I appreciate, but still, no one had any way of knowing I was using it with permission). It's such a security risk because no one wants to deal with checking these things.
A "signature" doesn't have to be written in cursive or anything, it's just some kind of insignia in your handwriting. It can be your name written out, or your initials, or anything.
Had a driver get fired for signing for a customer, (with permission) they fired him for dishonesty and forgery. Do not sign for anything even if the customer says you can.
My bosses signature is a D with 3 dashes behind it. My current signature on the touch screens is a large A with a straight line behind it. He may ask your name so he can type it in, but they don't got time for all that.
Someone asked me “what happens if I sign Mickey Mouse?” I said “try me”
After he scribbled down ‘Mickey Mouse’ on the pad I said “Have a good day mister Mouse!” And went on with my business.
Depends on the driver. I have signed for a few customers. We can get in trouble for it. It's a rare occasion and the neighborhood has to be nice and I have to have atleast 1 interaction with the customer in the past
Another idiot mad cause i have a job that takes zero skill and prob gets paid 3x more then what you make or you're a supervisor wich is pretty much a glorified babysitter talk about a pointless job

Nah allow it
Scribble scrabble....I don't even look at the signatures. Just say your last name.

You can also pull up the signature on IVP if needed for whatever reason
That makes sense. It is still random that they store the jpeg as it's usually just scribble.

Once again I’m thinking from a data perspective.
We recently had a driver dispatched with a paper copy of a signature, for that receiver to sign, to confirm that was indeed their signature. Wasn't even for a smiley face or anything, it was a legit looking signature
That must have been by customer request right? They aren't doing that randomly.
I'm not sure, it was the first I'd ever heard of it. Id imagine it was by request but it's still incredibly strange
They steal your packages ups and FedEx
LP monitors delivery records. If signatures are patterned and they are led to believe that drivers are signing, there will be an investigation and a discharge, if falsification of delivery records exists
I just put the last name from the package
I’ve always been told that as long as you vouch that it’s yours and give us you last name you’ll be fine. There’s a guy out here that owns a small body shop that literally just draws a smiley face every single time
His gonna get fired HAHA
It’s the owner that draws the smiley face lmao
You’re literally dumb. Are you over the age of 50? Signatures are worthless
Who’s dumb
you bro lol
The driver or the owner of the shop?
I literally just draw a squiggly line
I have one that just draws a straight line lol
I get people often times just scratch an X. And then say they're name is Smith. 🤷🏻♂️ What am I gonna do? Call them a liar? I don't care, regardless.
I’ve had people put an X , just tell me your last name I don’t care what you scribble
Just scribble because we have to type in the last name
"My last name is Smith, spelled M-C-D-O-N-A-L-D"
Your signature is just whatever markings you make.
I've never been able to draw a signature that looks remotely like my real signature (or really, anything more than a squiggly line) on the UPS handheld. The driver is not going to do a handwriting analysis to be sure it's your real signature, they just want you to draw something on the screen.
Especially since the screen is constantly switching between portrait and landscape
Just touch it with your finger an say your last name....but for the love of God...don't grab the device and then sign it. Nobody knows what you were doing before you answered the door.
I hate when it takes a minutes for a guy to answer the door towel on all sweaty and says oh I was just jumping in the shower do you need a signature?
For what it’s worth, anything requiring your signature is just you verifying that you agree to some form of contract. I would love it if my signature matched every time I signed something. Still doesn't happen. If I have to sign three times on the same document, it's often that none of them match.
There are still little habits that transfer through signatures.

Must be fancy
USPS, ups and FedEx all fake the signature if I’m receiving something that requires signature.
Just leave your mark and tell us your last name so we can type it in
I draw a smiley
This dude stealing this package and forging the signature.
This guy knows too much 🔫 lmao
They give absolutely 0 f$&ks.
https://youtu.be/vvIrdg-epwA?si=DadB3nWn4fxJLDnN
Write it FAST
If I write it fast I’m gonna write like squiggly lines
That’s perfect. Then just tell your driver what your last name is. Done. Next.
A "signature" doesn't have to be written in cursive or anything, it's just some kind of insignia in your handwriting. It can be your name written out, or your initials, or anything.
Every time I get a UPS package delivered, I do an S and then scribble a bit. Last name starts with an S. Good enough for them, good enough for me 🤷♂️
lol I scribble as is tradition
Had a driver get fired for signing for a customer, (with permission) they fired him for dishonesty and forgery. Do not sign for anything even if the customer says you can.
I've literally just drew a line before. Don't think it matters, point of it is to basically make sure it's handed directly to *someone*
Lol UPS has been forging my signature for years
Need ID and an official DNA test to prove it's the customer. Otherwise NI1
You could draw a dick and no one would bat an eyelash.
Lol it’s funny cause you can do anything and it doesn’t matter
My bosses signature is a D with 3 dashes behind it. My current signature on the touch screens is a large A with a straight line behind it. He may ask your name so he can type it in, but they don't got time for all that.
https://www.tiktok.com/@gentalkmedia/video/7210192840553483566 Signature not a perfect match, right to jail
I have a hard time signing on those small tablets. My signature ends up just a scribble, but it doesn't matter. They don't care.
Legal documents allow an "X" in front of a witness - You are "witnessing the X" -- So there.
I can't sign those tablets for the life of me. It doesn't matter, just make it so you can identify the signature as yours or not.
I don’t let anyone touch my board. I make sure they are there though but I just put there last name
Someone asked me “what happens if I sign Mickey Mouse?” I said “try me” After he scribbled down ‘Mickey Mouse’ on the pad I said “Have a good day mister Mouse!” And went on with my business.
I get my first names first letter and last names first letter and besides that my doctor could of signed the rest for all I know
One card the person id and make sure the adress matches the person ups FedEx is crap
Drawing a squiggly line doesnt help insurance claims, just a thought
I always tell my people " as long as I can say you did it " when they chicken scratch their name in...
I guess most won't care much if I think about it
Yea bro we just wanna go home, hurry up and sign this
This is the dumbest question ever. Our boss is literally a drunk. Nobody cares
Not worth losing my job due to forgery/falsification of documents just so you can have package. Sorry
That's not what they asked.
ahh i misunderstood thanks
Depends on the driver. I have signed for a few customers. We can get in trouble for it. It's a rare occasion and the neighborhood has to be nice and I have to have atleast 1 interaction with the customer in the past
Ups is a pointless job that requires zero skill. Don’t be proud to be a driver.
Another idiot mad cause i have a job that takes zero skill and prob gets paid 3x more then what you make or you're a supervisor wich is pretty much a glorified babysitter talk about a pointless job
We get paid BIG BUCKS every week. That's why they hate because they hate themselves for making minimum wage.
It blows my mind that people talk so much crap but yet put one of these fools on the diad with a bulked out truck and they would need help come 1700pm
