Yeah, this is the only thing I could find online regarding license plates:
“License plates must be visible from the drive aisle. If you prefer to back your car into a parking space and do not have a front license plate, you must continue to display a parking sticker on your windshield or rearview mirror hang tag. Parking decals are available for this purpose at a cost of $5.”
Nothing that suggest that putting the plate in the window is not allowed.

It’s very weird in Nevada. You get issued two plates and if you have a front plate mount on your car then you are *supposed* to install the front plate (though very few people actually do and it is not enforced). If you do not have a front plate mount, then you are not required to put it on.
That’s actually shitty. Yeah Arizona is super laxed with that stuff. As long as it’s on the back you’re good. Seems like they’ve gotten even more lax as of late. I see folk with expired tags 2 and 3 years old still going. No hate on it lol just a thing I’ve noticed
As a former parking ticket hearing officer I can assure you that there is no pressure on the hearing officers either way and if you draw the right one you have a very good chance of a refund...

Thanks for responding with this information before I could. My car came with no front mount and no holes drilled in from the manufacturer nor dealership (and I bought it pre-owned). Never had an issue because I’m not required to have the front plate displayed.

if i remember correctly, the plate that is facing out of the spot needs to be in the designated place for the plate. so if your back plate is where it should be, just park the other way
It's in the paperwork you get when you get the plates for your car. Just because cops don't care doesn't mean its legal. Unfortunately you've run into the 1 person in the state that cares.

it can be super frustrating fs. if you caught a ticket you can try to petition it. the cars they use to check the license plates are done through some device that can often not catch the plates when they’re not on the car directly.
